Every Sweet Regret

New York Times bestselling author Lexi Ryan brings you Every Sweet Regret, a sexy standalone romance about a single dad and the reformed party girl who’s loved him all her life.

For as long as I can remember, Kace Matthews has been my brother’s best friend and my not-so-secret crush. But I knew nothing would ever happen between us. The successful single dad doesn’t fall for the hot mess party girl. Kace + Stella exists in the doodles in my high school notebooks and in my dreams. Never in real life.

Until he finds me on a hookup app and starts flirting shamelessly.

It turns out high school Stella was not prepared for Kace Matthews. Adult Stella isn’t much better, but I manage to break down the walls to show Kace the real me—not just the life-of-the-party exterior, but the vulnerable pieces I hide from the world. Combine that with the combustible chemistry we have in real life, and I’m a goner.

Too bad it takes me so long to realize Kace doesn’t know I’m the girl he’s been falling for online. Telling him the truth now that he knows my secrets could mean losing everything, and that’s one regret that could break me.

"Come to the door so I can tell you to your face how I feel."

Jeez... the feels in this book. I found myself crying when I finished it yesterday, long past my bedtime for someone who has to work the following day. At the same time, it's such a wonderfully sweet book I also found myself giggling and laughing out loud during some parts of it.

These are both flawed, real, sweet, clueless, and so so so wonderful characters.
Kace is the single dad, seemingly still caught up in his former marriage because he can't get why it ended and what he did wrong.
Stella is a former party girl, who is looking for something else, but everyone still sees her for who she was. As a result, she still sees herself as a mess and not enough.

"What does she have that I don’t?"
Stella's had feeling for Kace for a long time, but never in a million years did she think he would reciprocate. Because, well, she's Stella. She's a screw-up, she made mistakes, one in particular she doesn't want to share with anyone.
"I won’t shave my beard because I don’t want Stella to be less attracted to me..."
Kace is so physically attracted to her that their shameless flirting left me giddy at times. But what happens when he realizes flirting has turned into something else? Or maybe that it's been there all this time?

"I realized I should tell you that Who Framed Roger Rabbit was my favorite movie when I was a kid."
Not giving too much away regarding how this connects with the book, because you REALLY need to read it, this sentence kind of represents me. This was my favorite movie as a kid. And seeing it in the background of this book brought back feelings as well.

"I want your promises and your smiles and your vulnerable moments—not perfection.”
Bottom line is... there are so many wonderful moments in this book. It is a best friend's sister, second chance story, yes. But I think it's mostly a story about life, you know? About one side realizing they need to let go of what happened in the past and realizing they were not to blame, and the other being able to see what they have to offer is more than enough.

And love is often found in perfect moments between imperfect people.

This is going down as one of the best books I read all year.

Okay, so I forgot to come back and review. Shocking, I know! <> (why I am still so damn extra? #ridic)

I honestly do not know how to not love a Lexi Ryan story. Her stories are thought provoking, emotional and never journey in a straight line. When I first started reading her work, I playfully used to say “She loooooooooooooooooves her triangles that sometimes are possibly pentagons hiding in a hexagon” about almost every story I read LOL and years later it is almost always true! Her stories live in the grey area of life; they’re just never black or white, which is fantastic because that’s where real life lives, in the greys. I’m always excited to read her stories because I know that on some level, they will be relatable and on all the levels they will be realistic.

The relationship between Kace and Stella had spark from the very beginning. The had a connection as friends already and you feel in the prose the simmer of more as you read. Another attribute I love about Lexi. She’s a word wizard kids! The choices she made for them, in my opinion, were perfect for not only their personalities, but their circumstances. Here’s the part I remind you I don’t give away plot points so that will have to suffice lol

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that there are some circumstances in this story that maybe were a bit too much or took up too much time on the page (again, no plot points) but even with those thoughts, I just can’t give this story less than the 4.5 stars rounded to 5 it so richly deserves!

Stella Jacob and Kace Matthews. These two are kind of a mess. She is his best friend's little sister and she is good friends with his sister. She has been crushing hard on him since she was a teen, but they seem to be opposites.

Stella is known as more of a wild child and a party girl, and has a history of questionable choices and needing to be bailed out. But she is trying to get her life on a new track. Kace is a divorced single dad still dealing with his unresolved feelings and insecurities. He is charming, caring, dependable, and protective. He is attracted to her, but has always tried to resist her. She should be on the forbidden list, but it is getting harder to resist.

Teasing and Flirting. A few interrupted interludes and c**k blocks. Uncontrollable chemistry. Nosy friends, relatives, and Exes. Some online interference. A possible housemate scenario. Secrets. =One complicated situation.

Kace is torn between the off-limits woman he wants in his bed and an online woman that listens to all his problems and has good advice. Stella thinks Kace is finally taking her seriously and seeing her as more than a superficial sex object and really digging deeper. But when all is revealed, someone might get hurt.

This is full of angst, mistaken identities, miscommunication, and secrets. I will admit that I got a bit frustrated with Kace and how he was dealing with things. But he was kind of clueless. I actually felt bad for Stella because she just wanted to be seen for who she was now and be taken seriously. There are plenty of opportunities for growth during their journey towards finding self-worth, trust, acceptance, and love.

It brings back all their friends, Brinley, Marston, Savvy, Abbi, Dean, and Smithy. There are still some more shenanigans going in in the background with them too. But they can also offer support when needed. I am looking forward to Abbi's book and I wonder if she will end up with who I think she will.

I was do excited for Stella and Kace’s story in Orchid Valley. Stella is known as the party girl who always loved her brother’s best friend, Kace. Kace is a recently divorced single father and still hung up on his ex wife. Let me tell you, that ex wife... whew. I digress.
Kace has always thought Stella was amazing but never acted on it, Stella always wore her emotions on her sleeves when it came to her attraction to Kace but was always shot down. Until recently, he started noticing Stella more and more and decided it was time to make his move, which was friends with benefits, no strings. At the same time he meets a girl on a dating app, and he is having deep conversations with her, keeping Stella at arms length. Unbeknownst to him, they are the same person. Stella thought he knew the whole time and when she found out he didn’t know he was talking to her, my heart actually died a little bit for her.
Kace was supposed to be this amazing guy, and in her eyes he was, but I found that he was ignorant in so many ways that it was hard to read parts. The things he said and did seemed so out of sorts with who he was described as. He seemed unfeeling at times and it was hard to remember this was the guy who was explained as such an amazing person the chapter before. I loved Stella though, I just wish she was a little stronger with Kace, maybe because I didn’t see him with her rose colored glasses it was harder to understand why she just forgave him over and over. My heart broke for her so many times I wanted to hug her.
While I think this book had a lot of potential, there was so much going on here that it made it hard to process. There were things that happened in this book that really had no need to be there. It was added drama that felt forced and weird when there was basically no reaction to it. This is a solid 3.5 stars, I did round up because the writing was good.

Stella Jacob was the best friend to Kace Matthews’s little sister. And she has also had a crush on him since she was a teenager, but they are just the complete opposite of each other.

Stella is the wild child and the ‘party girl’ and just can’t seem to make a good decision and always needs help with everything. But she is trying hard to get her life sorted out. Kace is a divorced single dad, the epitome of responsibility. He is sweet, charming, dependable and protective. He is also attracted to Stella but has always just r=stayed away as she was his sister’s best friend. But his attraction to her is becoming more and more harder to resist.

When he is added onto a dating app and starts chatting with someone (who is Stella) and tells her he is sort of interested in someone he decides to pursue her, but things doesn’t necessarily work out the way he wanted it to.

This was a cute story, I sometimes love to read books where there is so much drama and I enjoyed the drama in this book. But I understood that Kace was attracted to Stella but he was sort of hung up on his wife too for most of the book. I just don’t know if the chemistry between these two was believe able. A good read but some parts didn’t work for me.

I love Lexi and the first Orchid Valley book was a five-star read for me I absolutely had to get my hands on this book. But i was so invested in Brinley and Marston I can't remember any of the background characters.

So basically, I read this book as a standalone except for the few times things sparked my memory. From the beginning I loved Stella. She was such a relatable, young lady who had made the normal human mistakes on her way to becoming an adult. And she had the usual insecurities about the mistakes she made.

Jace took me a while to warm to. He was so caught up in his ex-wife and he was so closed off to moving forward. It felt a bit like he was a teenage girl with his on and off feelings. I just wanted to smack him in the face and tell him to see what was right in front of his face.

But as the story went on and more things came to light, I understood where he was coming from. And I just fell harder for Stella for not letting life drag her down. Luckily as everything unfolded Jace did open his eyes and I saw everything that Stella had seen from the very beginning.

I can't wait to see how Abbi's story is going to go. And who she is going to fall for and get to know the rest of the secondary characters better. as well as to see more of Marston and Brinley and Jace and Stella.

Stella has always been known as the party girl, up for having a good time, but not someone who takes things seriously. Kace is her brother’s best friend and Stella has harbored a crush on him since high school. But the party girl could never be right for the serious single dad, so she never figured she'd get her way. When he starts flirting with her on a dating app, she flirts back and finds herself opening up to him as she’s never done to anyone else. She thinks things might finally fall in place for her and Kace, until she realizes he doesn’t know the girl on the dating app is her.

Oh these two. Neither is really in a place to start a relationship, but they both want one regardless. Kace hasn’t dated since his wife left him and he is hesitant to try anything, even with the prodding of his friends. Stella wants a shot with Kace, but also knows that she has never wanted more than hookups with anyone.

As their stories twist in the dating app and in real life I couldn’t help feel for Stella. She thinks she found someone who understands her, but in real life she can’t get him to see past her history. There is plenty of miscommunication and a huge case of mistaken identity, but they also both have things to come clean about before they can get their stories straight.

I enjoyed returning to the world of Orchid Valley, with Stella and Kace’s families nearby. I was rooting for these two from the beginning and I enjoyed their journey navigating dating apps, jumping into dating after divorce, and working through a history filled with secrets. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for this group of friends!

This is an ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.

Every Sweet Regret by Lexi Ryan is book 2 of the Orchid Valley series. This is a hot brother's best friend/best friend's brother trope with some single dad thrown in for good measure. I think these books are best read in succession because there was some backstory that would be tricky since these families are intertwined.

Stella has been in lust for her brother's best friend and her best friend's brother since she was a teenager. Kace has always been torn by wanting his best friend's sister. Drama. Drama. Drama. These two have chemistry that leaps off the page.

I think the part I liked best is Kace's transition from jilted, divorced dad to confident, dirty talking boyfriend. I thought the online hook-up app scenes went on for too long. I don't think anyone like Stella wouldn't have noticed her app had been changed or been satisfied using such an archaic version in today's society of instant gratification.

Overall, this was a quick read and very enjoyable. Lexi Ryan has made me a believer in her abilities and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

I really enjoy Lexi Ryan series, the Orchid Valley is a fun sweet series that follows the love connections that are happening among a group of girl friends.

Every Sweet Regret follows Stella and Kace, I loved their whole cat and mouse game of should we or shouldn't we throughout the story. Though I was pulled in by Kace and Stella's hot and heavy connection there were times that I thought the story was losing my interest, predominately when Kace didn't know who he was talking to, at first it was funny and then it lost some of that hilarity towards the end.

Overall Lexi made the story interesting and fun, I love that Kace is a single dad looking for love and has a dirty mouth. I am looking forward to what is going to happen between his sister Abbi and Stella's brother. I feel that as we continue to learn more about these characters the stories will continue to become better and better.

I really enjoyed this book. From the very beginning, it kept my attention and was a pretty easy read! It made me laugh and feel the feels a lot too. My heart broke for Stella real bad. She has been in love with Kace, her brother's best friend, for years. Now that he's divorced, maybe it's tehir chance at love.

It was absolutely beautiful, you just can't help but root for these two to be together. And I can't wait for Abbi's story.

3.5 ⭐✨ Secrets 🤫

So many secrets, an ex wife's secret that's so bad she runs a smear campaign on another. A best friend's secret that once revealed is more of a pity to him. A secret that haunts is finally getting justice. And, his secret that he hadn't been ready to accept till he nearly looses what's most precious. Secrets have a way of coming to light! No cheating between Jace and Stella, no cliffhanger, you do get some steamy intimacy scenes, and the story ends on a happy note. Enjoy 🤓

I enjoyed this book as the story is different than many of the love stories I read. Stella is Dean’s little sister, and Kace is Dean’s best friend. I felt bad for Stella as she has always had a crush on Kace. I felt bad for Kace as his wife divorced him a year ago, goes out with men in front of him, and signs him up for an app that hooks people up while he still pines for her. Poor Stella has more of a bad reputation that isn’t all true. I loved that Kace was attracted to Stella, but tried to hide it until one day he let loose. They both decided it was just going to be a hook up. The whole crazy thing was that Stella and Kace were both on the hook up app. Kace pinged her and the two started talking. Stella thinks he knows it is her because of her picture. The picture is not of her so Kace has no idea it is Stella. It is easy for things to messed up even more now. One thing I will say is that Kace is a super nice guy that you can’t help but love. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Every Sweet Regret was so good! It was a dirty, yet sweet, friends to lovers romp.

You can feel the chemistry from the very beginning. Not just physically but emotionally. Their already-existing friendship creates a foundation for a path more. Add in that he's a single dad who fiercely loves and cares for his little girl.

I loved that Stella has overcome a lot to get where she is and when Kace finds out, he doesn't bat an eye. He supports who she is and what she wants in life.

Every Sweet Regret is the second book in the Orchid Valley series by Lexi Ryan. It's a stand-alone and the characters from the previous and probably future books are featured. One thing about the blurb I would like to add is that Kace and Stella have (or trying to have at least) a physical thing all the time he is talking to Stella online thinking that she is someone else. It feels like a big thing to leave out of the blurb.

I really wanted to like the book and the blurb made it seem very appealing, but I had a couple of problems with the story that I ended up not liking the story much. My main problem was Stella.

You see the Stella from the first chapter is different from the Stella everyone else thinks she is who is different from the Stella she thinks she is who is different from the Stella she actually is. There were so many Stellas in this book and the end, non of them had an actual growth. Stella of chapter one is the kind of person who sleeps around a lot and wants to have a good time. The Stella everyone thought she was is a wild child who likes to party. The Stella, Stella thought she was, is a person who does not worth anything and should be treated horribly. The actual Stella is kind of a mystery to me still. She deserved better than what she got and she never really asked for what she wanted. She is the same person she was when the story began, but now she has Kace.

I would have believed that Kace truly wanted Stella and that his words were real if he had dismissed Itsy's words when she told him her secret instead of just saying that he cut her off because he wanted to be with Stella. He spent too much time in the book pinning after his wife even though she made it more than obvious that she doesn't want him anymore. He even walks in on her with another man at her house and he still doesn't. That's not romance material unless the heroine is the wife.

Finally, there is a plot about Stella's past and the reason why she has so low self-esteem and it wasn't resolved in this book which I hated. Maybe we will see more about it when Dean gets a book, but I don't hope for much. I didn't even like Dean for the most part. At least he took care of his sister so he scored some points there.

Overall, the book wasn't for me and I would not recommend it.

review by Jen Skewes

I loved Kace and Stella’s love story. This book brought out so many emotions, but for a good part of this book I was completely frustrated, in a really good way. It was the frustration and angst made me devour this book in one sitting. I simply could not put it down. I ignored life as much as I possibly could just so I could spend all my time with Kace and Stella.

Kace is a single dad who is recently divorced. While he has always seen Stella and how beautiful she is, he is still dealing with his unresolved feelings for his ex. He still is not sure how his marriage fell apart and blames himself. He is not looking for a relationship at all, but knows he needs to move on. His ex-wife signs him up for Random, a dating/hook-up site, which he really has no interest in. But one night he decides to take a look at the app and swipes on the profile with the intriguing avatar, having no clue who he is really talking to.

Stella has been in love with her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember. And while this may have started as just a crush, it has turned into so much more for her. She is the wild child who makes some questionable decisions. But she is trying to get her life back on track and put her past behind her. When swipes on her Random profile she is so excited and for the first time feels like maybe this could work between them, that maybe there really is something between them.

Kace is torn between his attraction to Stella and the connection he feels towards the woman online who he has been talking to. He wants Stella physically bit knows that they can never be anything more than casual. He feels like he has a deep connection with the woman online, she’s someone he can share his feelings with. But he is not one to string along two woman. Stella knows that she has been talking to Kace this entire time but has no idea that he thinks it is some other woman. When the truth comes out, including Stella’s deepest secret, will it ruin everything?

This book frustrated me on so many levels, but not in a bad way. I think Kace going back and forth with his feelings for Stella and not wanting anything more than casual, but at the same time knowing in some way that he wants more with her, drove me crazy. It made me feel so bad for Stella in the sense that she has loved this man forever, and now he finally has an interest in her, but it seems like unrequited love, and in the end it will be her who gets hurt. But I think that he was honestly oblivious at times to what was right in front of him.

The drama, the angst, sexy banter, the feeling of being on pins and needles until the truth finally comes out is what made this book so hard to put down!!. I was glued to my phone, feeling like my children when they walk around the house with their phones attached to them. I hated Kace’s ex-wife, it hurt to see him appear to still have feelings for her. But I loved every moment when he was with Stella ad how much you could feel wheat he really f felt for her, even if he could not admit it. From the moment the truth came out, my heart was in my throat the entire time until the end. I loved getting to see all the other characters we loved from book one. They are back and the shenanigans and fun times continue. This book was angsty, hot, fun, heart breaking at times, but so worth every emotion! I cannot wait for the next one. I miss these characters already.

3 STARS

Every Sweet Regret is the second book in Orchid Valley Series, and while each book can be read as standalone, I got better enjoyment from reading the first book in this series. Every Sweet Regret follows the lives of the main characters Stella and Kace, and their surrounding family and friends. For the most part I did like the story, but there was some things that did make this a 3 star review instead of a 5 star review.

I can and will say that I do enjoy this author's writing. She kept my attention solely focused on this story, and this story alone. I am a huge fan of this particular trope, and I really liked how this author made it her own. The overall story developed in a timely manner, and the pace went along with that. There was a good amount depth that had me in my feelings, which makes me feel included in the story. I adored the actual chemistry, and how this author went about it.

There is more than a few things that bothered me about this story. Stella's insistence to not know her value. Wait let me correct that, she knew she deserved better, but chucked it all out the window anyways knowing what the outcome would likely be. That came off weak to me. Kace was so strung up about his wife for more than half the book knowing what he knew about her, and when it came out yes he said he was angry, but it seemed to me like it was okay to him because he didn't even really condemn her for her actions. The characters were decent in more ways the one, but I just couldn't understand their logic some times. There is more that I was not a fan of, but that would give the story away. I was also left with questions that I would have liked answered in the book, and with everything ending kind of abruptly even with the epilogue I didn't get those answers.

Overall this was a decent book, and heck maybe I will get the answers I need in the next book. Obviously the things that bothered e, will not stop me from reading more of this authors work.

I absolutely adore this author and the brothers best friend trope is one of my absolute favorites.. But I just could not connect with this story.

Stella and Kace had been apart of each others lives for years, but because of Stella's 'wild child' ways, she was never taken seriously. Kace has now own issues, and now being a single father trying to keep everything afloat and dealing with his broken heart and insecurities, he has a lot on his plate. His only form of solace is the woman he's been chatting with on the internet that just *gets* him. But he's also torn between his attraction to Stella, who is off limits in every way.

Stella, man I felt bad for her. She's trying so hard to be taken seriously, to be valued for who she is now and not how she used to be. She knows what she deserves, and knows it's better than what she's getting from the people who claim to love her.. But in the end let's everyone walk all over her, including Kace. But will she finally be seen by the one man she's always loved? Or will she constantly be shoved aside? And what will Kace do when he figures out that the woman he's talking too and Stella are the same person?

I think my main problem with this book was Kace. I just didn't like him at all. He was hung up on his ex, and I get why to an extent, but at some point you should have to move on. And I hated the way he treated Stella. That girl deserves so much more than what she got. And the ending just felt so abrupt to me, and left me with many unanswered questions.

Overall this is an enjoyable book, I just didn't love it like I have with this authors previous work.

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**

Every Sweet Regret by Lexi Ryan was a beautiful read, and a wonderful story to escape into! It's the second book in the Orchid Valley series and really captivated me throughout.

Stella is a hoot! She is unapologetically herself, and sassy to boot, really making it fun to engage with her on the page. She tries so hard to be herself, but sometimes everyone else doesn't see her for who she truly is.

And Kace? Give me more of this cinnamon roll of a man! I'm so very in love! He's charming, caring, maybe a tad overprotective but in the best possible way, and is just trying to do his best for himself and his kid.

The secondary characters put such a smile on my face and really help bolster our main characters. The interactions make me chuckle, especially the conversations between Stella and Abbi! And Dean, doing his best to be a good big brother though sometimes not letting things happen the way they need to. And I adored Marston and Brinley!

The chemistry between Stella and Kace SIZZLES and I honestly couldn't get enough of it! From imagination to reality it only got better and better.

And bless all miscommunications and misconstrued information that we get from dating apps! I adored how Lexi used this and it not only added to the story in general but also took me on one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey as Stella and Kace found ways to be truly vulnerable and honest.

If you're looking for a sweet story about falling for your best friend's sister with some shenanigans, shmekshay times sprinkled throughout, and some real and honest emotional exchanges, look no further than Every Sweet Regret! It's thoroughly worth it!

Single dad Kace hasn’t had any interest in a relationship since his marriage ended. At first I kind of assumed that it was because he was still into his ex but I started to think that wasn’t the case. He knows it’s over and he’s accepted that but he still doesn’t know what he did wrong and it’s messing with his head more than he knows. I had a bit of a love/ dislike relationship with Kace. There were times he showed his caring, protective side and I loved that but his indecisiveness frustrated me. There were times I really disliked him, thought he was selfish and that Stella could do better but at the same time there was something about him that appealed to me. He wasn’t the perfect man, he’s got flaws etc but I think that’s what I liked the most.

Stella...bless her heart I adored Stella. She’s not the party girl that everyone seems to think she is. She hates how others see her and even when she’s trying her best to not rely on others, she always finds herself with no choice but to accept help. She’s a proud woman and it’s a hard pill to swallow knowing how everyone sees her. She’s been crushing on Kace forever so when he starts returning her interest she can’t help but get her hopes up. So when Kace starts messaging her through a hook up app, she assumes he knows who he’s talking to....spoiler alert, he doesn’t. Bless his little clueless heart he has no idea the person he’s connecting so well with his his best friends younger sister and things are about to get complicated.

This is another great book in the Orchard Valley series and I can’t wait for more (hopefully Abbi’s book).

I am keeping this kind of vague without spoilers, so please bear with it. I recieved and ARC for this book in exhange for an unbaised, honest, and spoiler free review.

I have never read Lexi Ryan, and it is always a risk jumping into the middle of a series. But you do not have to read book 1 in the Orchid Valley Series. This is a complete standalone. This book centers around Stella Jacob and Kace Matthews. These two have danced around each other for a long time, but neither has acted on them. Stella is stereotyped as this wild party girl, when she works so hard to try and break from that. Kace is a steady, divorcee that is sometimes clouded by other peoples opinions. I really loved Kace and Stella together, but it says even more when you love the characters separately. They both had their strengths, and weaknesses. There are things in their pasts that shape who they are, but a lot of the shaping of Kace is based on misconceptions. This doesn't change him as a person, but it does open his eyes to the real truths in front of him. There were times where Kace, while smart, but oh so dumb at the same time....I feel like he didn't want to open his eyes to some obvious moments. I don't fault Stella for acting and reacting the way that she did, but thank goodness Kace saw what was in front of him. I gave this only 4 stars, because I felt like almost wasn't enough follow-through with the situation with the ex-wife. It was handled well, but I felt like it needed more. This was a well written, well thought out book, and you will not be dissapointed.

After his divorce Kace is trying to adjust to being single and is focused on his career and being a single father. His ex has adjusted to their new situation much quicker than he has so even though he isn’t looking for love or a relationship he knows that it is time to move on. The only problem with that is that he is physically attracted to his best friend’s sister but mentally challenged by a woman he met online not realizing they are the same person.

Stella’s heart has belonged to her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember but she believes that he will never be able to see beyond the mistakes of her past. When she connects with Kace online she believes that he will finally see the woman she has become not the woman she was but the surprise is on her when he doesn’t realize who he has been connecting with.

All Stella wants is her man and she endures a lot of heartbreak to get there as due to Kace’s past he is cautious. This causes even more angst in an already volatile situation but in the end he shows his true character and why they are so perfect for each other.

I love single parent romance so this book was always going to be on my radar but it was so much more than I expected, it captivated me from the first page and there was no putting down until I had read the final line. So please take my advice and make sure you have to time to finish this book because there will be no putting down once you start Kace and Stella’s story.
Kace is a single dad who believes he still wants his ex wife but the ex is determined to get him to move on with his life and she sets him up on a dating site. Stella has been around Kace all her life, he is her brothers best friend and she is also best friends with his sister so the feelings she has for this man have been well hidden but maybe now it’s time to let Kace know how she really feels.
Two people having fun texting without realising who is at the other end of the text help make this a entertaining, fun read but it was the chemistry and the banter Kace and Stella shared that took this book to another level. I loved everything about this book and I highly recommend it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
Stella is a wild child, and Kace is a newly divorced father. She is his best friend little sister, and she is also best friends with Kaces sister....so you can understand that they might worry about any crushesor feelings they may want to act on! 😅

From the get go, their chemistry jumped off the pages. Lots of flirty banter and eventually sexual inuendos.

Stella has been using an app called Random to find dates, it's essentially a hookup app/ site. She hadn't been having the greatest luck. Kaces ex signs him up on Random, and he's quickly matched to an account that has a Jessica Rabbit avatar, to Kase he sees this as the woman not being all about looks and more about talking.
So he begins a conversion with this mystery woman and it really helps them both with the issues they both have been having. While speaking to this person, Kace and Stella do become closer.

I loved their journey, and though it was tough at times, they surprisingly leaned on each other and their friends to get through it all and see if they can make things work.
This is my first book by Lexi Ryan but definitely will not be my last!

I would like to thank the author, Lexi Ryan and Greys Promotion for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
