Lecara Duet #1

Her Royal Fling

Rate this book
It was only supposed to be for a few days.

When Mr. Tall, Dark, and Sexy asks me to play tour guide to him and his friends for their bachelor getaway weekend, I’m helpless to resist. Then again, I’ve always been a sucker for an accent, piercing blue eyes, and a panty-melting grin.

Luke and I shared an immediate attraction. From the moment our eyes met, I was a goner. I would have done practically anything for a little more time with him.

Even wanting to be his three-day vacation fling.

Reckless? Maybe. Do I regret it? Not a chance – even if I can’t get him out of my head.

When a wedding invitation shows up at my door, it takes all of half a second to make up my mind to see the man I can’t stop thinking about.

Only I may be in over my head.

Royally.

Reading is a passion of mine. My love for the written word was rekindled a few years ago, and it's been a blessing to discover everything that is out there. I love a good romantic book, one filled with swoon-worthy heroes and the women who drive them crazy. There aren't too many genres I won't read (sorry horror and scary stories, you still give me nightmares). As long as it drags me into the world to live alongside the characters, I want it!

I've been married since December 2000 to my best friend. Yes we were young, yes people thought I was crazy, but when you know, you know. We had one of those insta-love relationships where we fell hard and never looked back. We have 4 beautiful daughters who drive us a little batty but we still love them!

Ever since I was little, I dabbled in writing, starting with Fanfic of Sweet Valley High (Yes, Jessica and Elizabeth needed some new adventures). In Seventh Grade my teacher submitted a poem I wrote to a national contest and was published in an anthology. I was afraid to turn it in because I never thought I had a chance and yet, it was picked. Writing stories had always been an escape of mine, something to lose myself into or rewrite a bad experience I had to give it a better outcome. There's a little bit of me put into my books so I'm always emotionally attached to them.

Time stands still as we simultaneously lean into each other, falling into the softest kiss I've ever experienced. Not rushed or urgent, or filled with uncontrolled lust. No, something pure and innocent. Like the start of a book, building the framework to something great.

5 Royally fun stars!

This novel was such a fantastic example of why I love royal romances: there was glamour and royal splendor, forbidden yet undeniable romance, and of course an evil queen. I just love the magical possibility of finding your Prince Charming in an actual Prince-in-disguise, which is exactly what happens to Gia when she meets four guys touring America during their bachelor party.

Gia's a bartender in Chicago, flirting with customers for bigger tips and enjoying her non-glamorous job. When Luke, Bryce, Connor and Reid walk into her bar, she immediately feels at ease around them while feeling a deeper connection to the sexy and easy-going Luke. The guys spend the next few days touring Chicago with Gia as their personal guide, and Luke and Gia continue to grow closer and find that their attraction is beyond just physical. When they depart back to Lecara, Gia is left feeling bereft and wondering if she'll ever see Luke again, so when the opportunity to travel to Lecara presents itself, she jumps on it.

And this, my friends is where the drama really begins (which I absolutely loved)! Gia is shocked to discover that Luke is actually Prince Lucien Alexander Frederick Claymore of Lecara and starts to doubt whether she and Luke even have a chance at a normal relationship. There's meddling by Luke's unhappy mother the Queen, some slight OW/OM drama, and a giant WTF ending that left my heart crying for more. Even though this was my first novel by Jodie Larson, I absolutely loved everything about this steamy story and cannot wait for the conclusion in HIS ROYAL PLAN! ♡

My Luke, the sexy and domineering Prince of Lecara...

"What an entertaining story. When 4 bachelors pony up to the bar Gia works at, she instantly knows that something is different about them and not just their accents. They are all ""hot"" but the quiet reserved one makes Gia take a breath. What starts as flirtation with them all morphs into Gia being their tour guide. Gia a native Chicagoan, is sassy and straight forward. The guys, Bryce, Conner, Reid and Luke are kind and funny. In just three short days they become friends and Gia and Luke have one night to remember. When an unexpected invitation arrives, Gia finds herself on their home turf and face to face with the crown prince, Luke. Duty and politics abound trying to keep Luke and Gia apart. This does have a ""cliffie"" at the end that made me want to throw my kindle, but I am totally invested in this story and have to see how it all plays out.

""Dating is hard,”I say, trying to defuse the situation. “I’ve had my share of frogs trying to find my prince. It’s a long process.”
Luke’s eyes hold mine for a moment. “Are you looking for a prince?”
I shake my head. “Not an actual prince. That’s not practical.” "

I love a good royal story. Girl meets prince, falls in love and then s*** happens of course.

This is my first book from this author and it won't be my last. I was swooning and smiling throughout the entire read.

There were a few bumps along the way. I won't spoil anything but I'm not happy with a few people. I've fallen for Luke and Gia and I want MY Happily Ever After. Ahem... I mean their happily ever after. Lol.

I'm so excited to read the next book. Can't wait. 👑💜

I stayed up WAAAAAYYYY to long reading this book! But Gia and Luke and their friends had me so wrapped up in their story!

Never have I been a bartender so I don't know how real this scenario is, at least the group of hot, foreign guys being so chill. At least enough that she would accept the invite to hang out with them. I've only seem to gotten creepers that do that. But that's neither here nor there.

Luke and Bryce might be my favorites, except for Gia. Gia is awesome! She sorta reminds me of a Rock Chick-type character. Which I love. She's a beer-drinking, sports-loving, bartender and she makes no apologies for it. Luke is quite the charmer and definitely quietly sweet. Which makes sense since he's trying to keep a secret, low-key profile while in the States.

I won't tell you what happens but there is a bit of a cliffhanger which killed me last night but I know the rest of their story is coming soon!

You'll love Gia, she's a cute bartender from Chicago and has a wonderful personality. She's the type of person you'd love to be your friend. She has a cute group of customers from out of the country who are in town at a bachelor party. She agrees to be their personal Chicago tour guide and finds herself attracted to Luke. Loved my tour of Chicago. She's excited a month later when she gets an invitation to the wedding in Lecara. She can't wait to see Luke again as their chemistry was off the charts. Surprises abound once she arrives as does drama. His mother is the roadblock queen and she soon finds out that things are not always as they seem. Luke an Gia were a really cute couple together and they have my vote. The book does end with a cliffhanger but I think we have the beginning of what is going to be an incredible series. The book was well written with an easy flow. The characters were amazing and likable. I read an advance copy via Grey’s Promotions and voluntarily chose to review it.

Who doesn’t want to be swept off their feet by Prince Charming himself? This is not your average Cinderella retell, heck, it’s not even a modern-day Cinderella. It’s so much better!

Gia is a bartender from the lovely city of Chicago, she funny, smart and open, people like her. Well one shift, she meets a group of customers from out of town, visiting friends. When they ask her to be their tour guide around the new city, she agrees to help the group out. Not excepting to connect with Luke, she finds herself enjoying spending time with him. When their time together comes to an end, Gia wants more time with Luke, but alas he must return to his home abroad. Later, when she receives an invite to Luke’s homeland of Lecara, she is over the moon to see him again. When she arrives however, she gets the shock of her life, as Luke isn’t just the average Jo she thought he was. Not everything is what it seems when Gia arrives, as always drama ensues and the wicked witch in the form of the Queen…. Luke’s mother. Enter into the world of Royalty, nothing is what it seems and Gia and Luke will be put to the test.

Just to say, this series would make a killer show/movie. I was enthralled with the first chapter; it embraces you and doesn’t let you go. Gia is a girls girl, proud and strong, she doesn’t expect to be treated any different than any other person and is always willing to help others. What I loved the most about this book was the chemistry between Luke and Gia. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Dang it, now I gotta see what happens next!!

I'll admit, for the first few chapters I kept telling myself I did not want to like this book. Mean I know, but in this day and age for a young lady to go off and do what Gia did, play tour guide to five strangers really got on my nerves. Then she was all likeable and fun, the guys weren't total creeps, so I ended up letting my guard down a bit. But still...

Gia ended up showing the handsome Luke and his best friends a good time in her hometown of Chicago-no not that kind of a good time. Well, not that kind at first anyway. From the minute they stepped into her bar, she knew these guys were different and by the last day of playing tour guide, she couldn't get one of them out of her head.

All the while the boys were hanging around with Gia, there was an unspoken secret amongst them and with the title of the book, it wasn't too hard to figure out. The difficult part was figuring out how it was all going to fall in place when the dust finally settled along with the truth. Gia is a head-strong, proud woman and it will be interesting to see how that will work with what lies ahead for her-I really don't want her to lose herself.

The book is well written, with some sexy and angst thrown in. While we are here for Gia and Luke, it was nice to get to know the other guys and some extended family to help the storyline along. Again, while I wasn't a fan of how this whole thing started, I am now a fan of seeing how it is going to end. Somewhat predictable and I'm partial to other people's drama, I'm gonna have to come back to see how it all plays out in His Royal Plan, which can't get here soon enough.

I'm a cynical girl for the most part, but there's something deep down in me who loves a great royal romance because I believe that most girls have dreamed of the fairytale romance with a real life prince. Not to mention, I can't get enough of royal intrigue because it always holds betrayal & suspense somewhere along the line. Gia was in the right place at the right time when a group of hotties came into the bar where she worked at. She's sassy & flirty which has them getting her as a 3 day tour guide, and if she gets some sexy times between the sheets with Luke, then all the better. She knows that despite that super hot night, this is all they'll have together, and he leaves after those couple of days. Little did she know what the future held for her when she gets an invitation that she takes to arrive in Luke's country to learn he's the Crown Prince, and not everyone is too happy about her being there. I didn't want this story to end, and it didn't since there's still the conclusion to their story, so it's going to feel like FOREVER to see how it all plays out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the 1st part of a duet and is Luke and Gia’s story. Gia is a sassy bartender who loves flirting with her customers for a larger tip, and when 4 sexy bachelors come into the bar for a weekend getaway, she jumps as the chance to become their tour guide. There is an intense and undeniable attraction between Gia and Luke, and after spending a hot night together she is not sure if she will see him again when he returns home. When Goa receives an unexpected invitation, she finds out that Luke is not who she though he was, and add into the mix a meddling mother, this all adds to the challenges that need to be overcome. This story does end in a cliffhanger. This is a well written story which has drama, emotions, love, engaging and relatable characters, which all leads to an entertaining and all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading the 2nd part of the intriguing duet, and I highly recommend this talented authors’ work.

My first book by Jodie Larson totally hit it out of the park! From page one, I adored Gia and her down-to-earth but feisty personality. She fits right in with her new friends who she meets at the bar she works at. But one captures her attention more than the rest.
Luke is totally swoon-worthy, with his charming personality to his Clark Kent glasses. He’s the object of Gia’s attention from the start. The other guys are great, especially Bryce, but Luke and Gia are awesome together.
Of course, not everything goes smoothly after that wedding invite shows up. Friendships are tested and people with hidden agendas lurk around corners. The cliffhanger just had my mouth falling open and I can’t wait to read the rest of their story.
Hopefully, it turns out the way I hope and a few people get taken down a peg or two! Great characters, interesting plot and great writing...I can wait for part two!

Oh my freaking God!!!!!! This is one of the best Royal romance book I've ever read!!!!!! I am so in love with these characters!!!!!

Luke and his friends are in the city for one of his buddies Bachelor vacation. They are from this little country overseas called Lecara. They are such a good group of guys. Loveable and down to earth.

Gia works at a bar they stumbled into. She is a hard worker first of all. She is the person who always covers when a coworker needs off or just someone you can count on. Second of all she becomes their tour guide. She shows them the city through her eyes.

The love is slow burn yet it sizzles the pages with longing looks across the room. It's the kind of love you crave from characters. This novel takes you on a journey of taking a chance and falling in love. And the cliffhanger takes your breath away. I'm dying for the second half. I absolutely recommend this book and would give it 10 stars!

👑 HER ROYAL FLING BY JODI LARSON 👑

👑👑👑👑👑 5 STARS

👑 PRINCE
👑 BARTENDER
👑 CHEMISTRY
👑 FUNNY

Her Royal Fling by Jodie Larson is book 1 in the duet. I don't know what is about royal romance books I love but I can't stop smiling when I read them. This one from start til mid 60% kept me smiling. I loved the banter and steam.

Gia is a bartender born and raised in Chicago, she fills in at the bar for her friend. Her patrons happen to be a group of hot guys from the small country of Lecara on a bachelor weekend exploring. Gia agrees to be the guys personal tour guide and show them all the local spot of Chicago. Gia is instant drawn to Luke. After a whirlwind fling with Luke, its time for the Gia to say goodbye to the guys. Gia then receives a letter in the mail to a wedding in Lecara, she accepts. When Gia and Luke come face to face she realizes he is actually Prince Lucien of Lecara. They are no longer in Chicago and when when they come from two different world, its hard. This story is easy to read and enjoyable, it feels like a fairytale but it eventually it comes crashing down. You're not going to want to miss the first book in the duet!!

This was a book given in exchange for a honest review.

Jodie Larson is very new to me and her writing was just fresh and well done. I truly enjoyed this book.

Luke and Gia make you swoon. You get captivated by their story and don't want to see it end. Gia is a strong woman who will put you in your place and Luke is just handsome and oh so sexy. Between the two of them its like fireworks. But this story of course is anything but perfect and they both have to deal with the life handed to them especially Luke who is the heir to the throne. But even with their chemistry Gia has to find out if she can deal with being part of the royal line when so many are against her.

I can not wait to read the next part of their story. I truly oved this book and getting swept away in the royal story.

I was soooo satisfied with this book! It had:

Bad decisions.

Deception.

Manipulation.

Sweetness.

Sexy characters.

Good friendships all around.

It was romantic.

It has great characters.

It's easy to read.

And it is very entertaining.

Luke is a sweetheart and he is charmed by Gia's personality. She is an all around honest, hard working, simple and normal american girl. A very lucky one by that since she unknowingly ends up with the opportunity of a lifetime when meeting this group of guys. I can't wait to read what happens next for Luke and Gia. Doubt is creeping in and they have a rocky path ahead.

This was the first book that I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoy it.
Gia is a bartender who is happens to have a connection with a stranger passing though. She wants to be able to spend more time with Luke because she left such a connection with him. Luke was such a sweet guy. When get gets an invite to visit him in his home country she is (squealing) with excitement. When she gets to Lecara she had the biggest shock of her life.
After finishing this one I’m dying to know what happens in the next one.

I really didn’t know what to expect from this author since she’s completely new to me. I signed up for this book not knowing what the story was. Nothing.
I was pleasantly impressed by the author. The characters were amazing. They were sweet. Loving. Well except for a couple of them. One particular matriarch Queen, Luke’s mother.
The story was super fun. A group of men going on a bachelor tour of the United States. Meet a bartender at a pub and they instantly hit it off. They end up asking her to be their tour guide while they are in Chicago. She spends an amazing time with the four guys. Especially with Luke the guy she hit it off with the most.
They have to part ways after the time they spent together to go to another city and eventually home.

Beware of twists and turns in this book! Some delicious some not so much. Lol!

Beware that the ending of this book is in a cliffhanger which will leave you yelling NO!!! Don’t do it!!!! To the book.
I cannot wait till the next book comes out in April to find out what happens!!!

I love reading books about a woman meeting a prince on her or his vacation. Normally lots of chaos happens because she isn't from his life and you can't forget the forces against them. Will they survive? Or will those forces win? I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed this book! I loved how Gia met the guys. How she played tour guide. I loved visiting Chicago through their tour. The sites. The food. It was fantastic. When the package came, I’m so glad Gia had the push she needed from her friend. I loved her time in Lecara. When she figured out who Lucian was. What a whirlwind romance, until the Queen got involved. I hated the game she played. Can’t wait for the next book. Need it now!!

I’m already obsessed! This was my first read from Jodie but after finishing this book, it most definitely won’t be my last! Gia is a bartender at a popular bar in Chicago who enjoys her job and isn’t sure of what she wants to do for the rest of her life. One night, she ends up with a group of men at the bar for a bachelor party who are from out of the country, and while they’re all charming, Luke is the one that catches her attention. At the end of the night, the guys ask Gia if she would be their tour guide for the city during their stay, and something in her decides to take a chance. After a whirlwind weekend where she gets along with all the guys but ends up growing feelings towards Luke, the guys leave and Gia doesn’t hear from him after their last stop, until a month later when she gets an invitation to the wedding they were celebrating. Traveling to Lecara for the first time, she gets the surprise of her life when she finds out Luke isn’t who he portrayed himself to be. But per usual in these types of stories, higher ups are against Luke and Gia being anything more than friends, and Luke’s mother in particular is determined to keep them apart. We leave this book on a huge cliffhanger with the potential of this couple losing each other, and I was on the EDGE OF MY SEAT and screaming over this! I need the next book now – I am obsessed and need to find out what happens! This couple is one of my favorite book couples and I’m am rooting for them fighting the odds and growing their feelings and relationship.

A book about Royals?! Sign me up!

The storyline of this book is one I’ve read many times before - our heroine runs into a group of guys at a local bar she works at while they are celebrating the last days of bachelorhood for their friend. She falls for one of them and (surprise!) he’s a prince! She ends up being invited to visit his country where they continue their “can’t keep hands to ourselves” romance against the wishes of the Queen who has some tricks up her sleeve to break them apart.

This is book one of a duet and does end on a cliffhanger. It was a fun, romantic story and I enjoyed every minute of Luke and Gia’s relationship. Even the supporting characters were funny and interesting. Would love to see them get their own books!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Royal Stars!
