USA Today Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa brings you a MM romance full of angst and tragedy that might turn to hope in a redemption love story that’ll break your heart and mend it all over again. Emotional, endearing, and full of romance
People think they know me. They only know what I allow them to see. I’ve learned to control the narrative.
I have secrets. So many, it’s hard to keep them straight. I should let those secrets go, open myself to my friends. Open my heart and allow it to love. Break the grasp that the demons of my past have on me.
The only man who understands me is fighting for his life. I put him there. Zeke is suffering. He wants to move forward and forget the past. Forward as in without me.
Friends. That is all he offers but I want more. I can’t let him go. But I can’t let the past go either.
When calamity strikes and wrecks the Sinners of Seattle again, Zeke and I are forced to deal with the aftershock.
And I can’t help but wonder if he’s next. I can either stay away from him forever. Or hold onto him while we try to survive.

Somehow Finding Us is book two in the Second Chance Sinners duet by Claudia Burgoa. You must read the first book, Pieces of Us, before reading this one. It says in the blurb that this is a book of redemption and I agree that that word best describes Ethan and Zeke in this conclusion to their story. Both have suffered so much. Now is a time of rebuilding themselves, of redeeming themselves, and finding their way back to each other.
“A sinner who can’t be saved because he killed his own soul.”
This book starts up right where the first book left off. Ethan Killion has gotten the call that he imagined only in his nightmares. And too late, he realizes just what he lost, everything. But when he realizes the mistake, he’s ready to go all in, to change his life and be what Zeke needs. Only he’s still too late. Zeke doesn’t want him in his life any longer. And Ethan loves him enough that if that is what Zeke needs, he’ll stay away. For now. Because he’s not giving up. He’ll never give up.
“I’m the biggest lie I’ve told anyone, including myself.”
Zeke Hutchence has tried and failed so many times to get clean. This time, though, scared him and he’s ready to commit. It’s a long process but he’s dedicated to seeing it through this time. He wants to live. For the first time, he truly wants to live.
“It’s as if he engraved himself into my soul.”
Both Zeke and Ethan have so many internal scars from their childhoods. Both have so much work to do. I have to give so much credit to Zeke, though. He was on the edge so many times where he could have fallen but he held on tight. He knew he wasn’t ready for Ethan. He knew Ethan wasn’t ready for him. Very slowly they worked their way back to friends and if that’s where they had to stay, then Ethan was willing to accept it, as long as he got to keep Zeke in his life. Very slowly, truths are revealed and Zeke realized how wrong he was about everything that he thought was truth when they were kids. And very slowly, they start to fall in love all over again. They never really stopped loving each other but they both fell in love with this new version of each other.
“I am enough.”
This book is about growth, about second chances, about knowing he’s your one true love and doing whatever he needs to be his best self. It’s about strength, about found family, it’s about forgiveness, and it’s about redemption. Even though I already knew all of the other members of the Sinners of Seattle, the band that Zeke and Ethan were in as kids, I feel like I got to know them even better in this book. I understand their relationship to each other better, the bond they share. This story comes complete with an epilogue that left me with the biggest smile on my face. But to be honest, I love these two so much that I so hope that we get even more glimpses into their lives in future books. Because I don’t think I’ll ever really get enough of them. Thank you, Claudia Burgoa, for this beautiful story.
"Somehow Finding Us" is the conclusion of the Heartbreakingly beautiful MM Romance that started in "Pieces of Us". This also spans years & is a Slowburn story of Healing, Forgiveness, True Love, Truths, Friendships, Maturity, 2nd Chances... With a heartwarming HEA *happy tears*. After the painful cliffhanger, I was so ready for Zeke+Ethan to get their HEA. Damn, they'd to work hard but the reward was that much sweeter! I love Zeke & Ethan so much, This is a Masterpiece duet by Claudia! DEVOURED it in 5hrs. Once started, couldn't stop!
This showed how Life is too short for regrets, Finally taking the measures so that they'll love themselves before loving another...Heal, break through their toxic cycle, Ethan freeing himself of years of secrets, How Zeke's love was not unrequited, Zeke letting Ethan grovel *fist-pump*, both facing their pasts & a tragedy Maturely. There were scenes that I think are in Hannah's & Tucker's books (sure gonna read'em).
This book starts from the Cliffy. My heart hurted for Ethan & Zeke... The news was gladly wrong, but this fear & Pain was a wake-up call *Yay!*. Ethan can't live in a world without Zeke, is finally ready to show his love...But how can Z believe him? Zeke is angry & determined to sober up, Wants Ethan to stay away. Will they ever have a 2nd chance at Love? ~Ironies, Fun cameo, Alive & angry, healing, CHANGE, Therapies, Letters & Emails, Months pass, Out & Teach, Visiting HANNETH (Ethan & Hannah's company), Boundaries, Amends, Friends hang out, Truths, Email Fun, Growing close, Crave & Lust, Cute, Fears & Confessions, Love & Everything, So Intense... Omg, I loved the Beacon Aldridge Cameo!!😍
Cue a Powerful journey of Healing, Self-Discovery & forgiveness. Both guys start therapy. Ethan's finally unveiling his truths & letting fear go. Zeke completes his studies, gets a Music teacher job & makes amends to The big family (Love'em!!) & friends (I.e. Hannah, Tucker & Ethan!) after he's out of sober-up facility. I adore their Friendship, support, Music & Fun hang-outs😍. When Ethan told'em about the truth of his+Z's relationship, I was so proud! Slowly but surely, Z+Eth's friendship resurrects. But, the two've been celibate for YEARS & their chemistry makes Denying so hard. Especially when Ethan finally confesses his feelings & fears to Zeke *Happy tears*. They don't want to be codependent again, but maybe they never were?
Z+E were bound to happen, meant to be. But Gladly Zeke didn't make it easy for Ethan 😂. They take it slow, to not screw-up their 2nd Chance. They got Closure from Pain & Past, had struggles (Like Ethan's Mom, I hate her!) & Even a tragedy (I knew Rocco will cause more troubles if he came back, but I'm sad for him😢), but handled it all Maturely! And finally...They get their HEA❤. ~Family, so rich, no hope 😭, House & fooling, The Pact, Never dependent, Home & Flirty, No Emergency, Rocco drama, The kiss, Z's closure, Tragedy & Close, Finally sexy times, Mom talks, Cute Fam, Ass gift 😉, Love forever, Proposal *Yay!*...
"We’ve kissed a lot over the years, but never like this. Like our flames are finally fusing, becoming one big wildfire."
The ending & Epilogue were Gorgeous! Zeke & Ethan own a special place in my heart. This was a long adventure & I loved every second of it. They deserve all the happiness. It's been fun to binge-read this duet, It's a absolute #MustRead!!😍 (I hope we get some bonus Scenes *hint, hint!*)
Somehow finding us is so very different from the first book in the duet, PIECES OF US, but it's just as emotional....actually this one may even be more emotional because both Ethan and Zeke are finally taking the time to care for themselves. For Zeke it's to not fall into the destructive behavior the past has drowned him in and for Ethan it's to acknowledge who he is and learn to be happy with himself.
Neither man has it easy and there are things that happen outside of their control that has them clinging to one another because their love is still there. This is not a book that shows forgiveness is easy which I truly appreciated. I loved watching Ethan do everything he can to finally accept himself and realize that he is enough for anyone and if that person doesn't love him for who he is then he doesn't need them in his life. And Zeke, his road was one that was filled with many twists and turns because addiction isn't something you can break overnight. We get to watch his journey and understand the decisions he made throughout.
I think Claudia did a brilliant job with taking two men that were "broken" and piecing them back together again, not for one another but for themselves because that is how it should be.
If you enjoy MM Romances that will pull at your heartstrings this duet is for you.
With Somehow Finding Us Claudia Burgoa concludes Ethan and Zeke’s heartbreaking story of love and redemption

5 Star Review of Somehow Finding Us (Second Chance Sinners #2) by Claudia Burgoa
AUDIO REVIEW: Having finished Pieces of Us I was anxious to read the conclusion to Ethan Killian and Zeke Hutchence’s MM story. It was everything I was hoping for and oh so much more. I was riveted from the first to the last chapter in the story Ms.Burgoa wove. What a well written story that tore me apart and then put me back together again. The narrators JF Harding and Aaron Shedlock did a fabulous job with their narration. They brought all the emotions, pain and intensity of the characters to life for me with their emotional performances. This is a story of digging deep inside yourself, of coming to terms with what you discover, of forgiveness and second chances. My emotions were pulled in so many directions I didn’t know whether to smile or cry. The emotions and events that Zeke and Ethan have gone through made this one heck of a read. The growth and development of both Zeke and Ethan was heart warming. You can feel the pain and love as you read this complicated love story as they both struggle with the past and also their future. Both have been to hell and back and now is their time to finally get the happily ever after that they so desperately need and deserve.
I don’t know if I can adequately describe how fantastic Somehow Finding Us (Second Chance Sinners #2) is. Claudia Burgoa is a genius at shattering our hearts and putting them back together and she didn’t miss a beat with this one. My emotions were all over the place as there were times when I was sad, anxious, happy and yet I truly loved every moment. Zeke and Ethan are couple that I never saw coming. They’re natural together, they consumed me and I fell so hard for them. Their incredible chemistry and passion really stands out and shines bright.
Somehow Finding Us begins right where Pieces Of Us ended and I couldn’t have been happier. Claudia Burgoa has weaved a beautiful story about deep and unrequited love, second chances, struggles, heart break and friendship. Zeke and Ethan’s journey is intense and while their storyline flows consistently, their definitely fighting an uphill battle. And throughout their journey, it’s clear that their bond is stronger than anything.
This book has a wonderful cast of secondary characters aka Sinners Of Seattle and their camaraderie made it even better. Somehow Finding Us is a excellent addition to the Second Chance Sinners duet and a MUST read. To get the full duet experience, I highly recommend reading Pieces Of Us, as this duet is without a doubt one of the best I’ve ever read.
Beautiful, emotional, heartbreaking and well done. This book will break your heart. I found it very touching. It is a story about acceptance, about loving yourself. Taking care of yourself. It's about love and how difficult it is. But also how it can heal even the deepest of wounds. Zeke broke me. Truly. Ethan too. The author did an amazing job with this book. It was even better and more angsty than the first. I am in awe. I seriously recommend this book.
Claudia Burgoa decided to take me to the happily ever after of Ethan and Zeke by the most complicated, angsty and heartbreaking road. I know it left me in pieces but it also slowly put my heart together. This story is simple, beautiful and undeniable perfection.
The first book left me in tears as I thought Zeke is forever lost. And he was, in a sense. And Ethan realized that he cannot live without Zeke, no matter how high the cost is. But Zeke is broken now. He decides that it's time for him to get himself out of this black hole. And getting over Ethan is a part of that decision. But the real and raw connection between them cannot be severed so easily. They have a long journey ahead where they have to deal with their demons before they think about love.
This story features a lot of secondary characters and all of them has featured in other stories written by the author. For me, it's a sweet union. For new readers, it will be an addiction because you cannot help but love this crew. Zeke and Ethan both had a rough childhood. While Ethan has pushed everything back into the deepest and darkest corners of his heart and pretend to act normal for everyone,Zeke acts out on his anger, frustration and emptiness. And he was always on self destructive mode. Ethan's pain and self doubt made him closed off and that hurt Zeke over and over again. My heart is breaking for their flawed and twisted hearts. This story is all about redemption, self love, self acceptance and true friendship. Family that doesn't come from blood can be such a healing power. Zeke and Ethan had to work out through their endless issues but you can feel the intensity of their love through it all. They are sometimes messy and toxic together but ultimately they are the soulmates.
Somehow Finding Us by Claudia Burgoa was a beautiful and honest MM romance with swoon, steam and feels. I won't forget Ethan and Zeke easily.
After the scares of their lives, both Zeke and Ethan set off on journeys. Journeys of healing, self realization, and self-discovery. Zeke wants nothing to do with the man who rejected him so many times before, and Ethan wants to become the man Zeke deserves. Will they ever be together? Even if as just friends?
And that is the question of the hour. To be honest, their journey was long, a bit too long for my tastes, and drawn out, but I appreciated how Zeke and Ethan finally came to terms with themselves. Zeke figured out why he used substances to numb himself, figured out what would set him off and how to react differently to what previously would have triggered him. Ethan figured out why he had spun so many lies about himself, lies to himself. Being in their heads was kinda painful at times, but seemed very realistic for the paths each took. I was rooting them both on, though, even if they never got together as more than friends or even if they had never even got their friendship back. Because as individuals, they both deserved happiness, even if that happiness wasn't with each other. These former rockstars sure had their obstacles, but they navigated them and came out the other side intact as even better people.
This book couldn’t come quick enough I was desperate to find out what happens after that massive cliffhanger in Pieces of Us and let just say this book was everything I was hoping for and so much more. I was captivated from the first chapter to the last line because Ethan Killian and Zeke Hutchence’s conclusion was one of the best MM romances I have ever read, their story will stay with me long after finishing this wonderful duet. My emotions were all over the place throughout this great read, should I smile or should I cry as I joined this journey of forgiveness and second chances. This author has written a wonderful story that has you feeling all the emotions the characters feel as you join them on their complicated journey. It broke my heart to see a couple meant to be together go through so much pain but we knew from the start this was never going to be an easy journey, it was always going to take a lot of forgiveness as well as a lot of courage and life changing for Ethan and Zeke to be together. Both needed to hit rock bottom before finding the HEA they so deserved. I highly recommend this wonderful duet featuring the members of Sinners of Seattle.
We now have the conclusion to "Pieces of Us". We were left with a cliffhanger at the end of "Pieces of Us" and eager to see what happens with Ethan and Zeke. Claudia did a fantastic job with Ethan and Zeke's story! Ethan and Zeke are two broken individuals who have suffered a lot throughout their life. This story focuses on their healing individually and working back to each other. I really enjoyed the pacing of this story and how the information was relayed. I loved the determination not only for Ethan waiting for Zeke but also Zeke and Ethan becoming better versions of themselves. If you are looking for a book about redemption, second chances, and healing that will grab your attention and make you not want to put it down this is your book!
Somehow Finding Us is the second part of the Second Chance Sinners duet and OMG what a conclusion to the amazing first part. I already loved the first book to pieces and could not wait for the second part. Do not read this book before you read the first part. It is a duet and needs to be read in order.
This book starts directly with the end of book one and continues to take you with the road of the lives of Ethan and Zeke. I love both characters to pieces and my heart kept breaking for them. The side characters are also amazing, but I was really glad that this book more centered around Ethan and Zeke because I can’t get enough of them. The ending of this book is more than satisfying and does not leave open any questions.
The writing is phenomenal, the story highly emotional, and the characters are real with flaws and mistakes they did. It is a second chance romance that will leave an impression on you. I could not get the first book out of my mind and think of it very often. I am sure that I will think of this book as often as of the first one. Ethan and Zeke have a place as my favorite characters of all time and this duet goes for me onto my list of books I have to buy as paperbacks.
I love everything about this book and if you don’t read it, you will miss out!
A huge recommendation!
*I received this book as an ARC. I chose to leave an honest review.*
My heart is racing, my breathing is erratic, I can't get my emotions under control. These two guys completely shattered me. I was broken into a million pieces but slowly those pieces began to knit back together until I was completely whole again. This journey for Zeke and Ethan was fraught with intense feelings and the deepest, darkest emotions.
"Hearts not only beat. They spin like the needle of a compass, always pointing north— or to the one we love."
Most people don't get second chances. Second chance at life, second chance at finding yourself or a second chance at love. These two were given those chances and they had to decide if they were important enough to take the leap. They had to deal with their own demons in order to discover who they might now be to each other.
I swear my heart was in my throat so much reading this one. My emotions were so high and so very low. Thanks so much CB for giving voice to their story. There was heartache and grief but also light, love and acceptance.
This duet is definitely a top read this year!! Keep on feeding my addiction.
4.5 - 5.0 Somehow Finding Us (Second Chance Sinners #2) by Claudia Burgoa picks up where Pieces of Us (Second Chance Sinners #1) left off. A life filled with sex, drug abuse, music, lies, and emotional trauma has finally caught up with The Sinners from Seattle band. Zeke and Ethan’s relationship is put to the test. The two tiptoe on a landmine of emotional dysfunction while they find their way back to each other. Their journey was a bittersweet and heartfelt journey of love, healing, and redemption. Zeke and Ethan get their hard-earned and much-deserved HEA. Somehow Finding Us is a must-read, after you first devour Pieces of Us.
Somehow finding us was a beautiful roller coaster of emotions! Zeke and Ethan had so much to sort through and I felt a part of the journey every step of the way!
It was so beautiful to see these two broken souls find their peace! I loved being a part of their growth and seeing just how perfect they are for one another!
Burgoa is amazing at writing novels that bring me to tears! I will say though that they aren’t always sad tears! By the end of this duet you will see what I mean! This was the perfect ending for these two and I couldn’t picture it any other way!
Although the journey was tough that led to Ethan and Zeke's happily ever after, it was beyond moving. The heart-rending emotions this story evoked from me was intense, with them finding their way apart and on their own, only to eventually find their way to each other is everything I hoped for them. I recently listened to the audiobook and loved listening to the narration by JF Harding and Aaron Shedlock. Somehow Finding Us by Claudia Burgoa is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
I'm finding it hard to gather my thoughts when it comes to book two in this duet. Book 1, Pieces of Us, was full of angst and emotions that went every which way. I could literally feel the longing they had for each other squeezing my heart. It was also super steamy. The sex was so full of passion and often times rage. None of this translated to book 2.
Book 2 was about Ethan and Zeke finally taking control of their own individual lives. It was about healing. Actually the majority of the book was them seeking therapy and avoiding each other. Ethan finally owned up to his lies, and there were many. Zeke finally told Ethan the extent of how much his constant rejection ruined him. It was true their relationship when they were younger was as unhealthy as it could get, but it wasn't all bad. Zeke and Ethan truly did love each other underneath it all, they just didn't know how to express it in a healthy way while being weighed down by everything else going on in their lives.
I enjoyed watching Zeke and Ethan grow and become the people they were meant to be. Zeke especially is like a different person from who he was in book 1. In order to love another, one must love themselves first. Both men work extremely hard on this part of their mental health and in the end they both have the same goal in mind: Finding their way back to each other. I just wish it didn't take them so long. I mean this literally. When I say the majority of the book is Ethan and Zeke working on themselves, I mean themselves, singular, not a relationship. That kind of bummed me out a bit because I was expecting this book to be as hot as book 1. There were definitely moments of intimacy. It was actually sweet seeing them fall for each other all over again. The epilogue is adorable and definitely wrapped everything up in a nice little bow. 3.75 stars
Somehow Finding Us is book 2 in the Sinners of Seattle Series. This is Ethan’s story. I started this book with my heart in my throat, after the way the first book, Pieces of Us ended! This is the most emotional series I’ve read in a while. Ethan and Zeke met as two lost, broken teens. They each had horrific childhoods and were lucky enough to be taken in by a caring group of people who welcomed them, gave them a home, and encouraged them with music, and they Formed the Band Sinners of Seattle. But they were still broken, and Ethan suffered night terrors. The only thing that calmed them was Zeke soothing him with his closeness. He would climb in bed with him, stay until he settled, and leave before Ethan would wake. As the boys grow closer things evolve but, Ethan is in denial, and their connection is kept under wraps. Zeke looses himself is drugs and alcohol, while Ethan closes himself off. He becomes engaged to a woman he doesn’t love. Ethan and Zeke can hardly be in the same room. But after a life altering incident, they are once again in each other’s orbit. Ethan has so much baggage he must wade through. Both men are in therapy. Zeke is very clear on what he must do. Ethan has major Mother issues. These two men have much to work on. It will be the hardest journey of their lives. They must decide if what they have or want is worth the fight!
After the explosive cliffhanger ending of the previous book, I needed this book like air! And Claudia Burgoa did not disappoint!!
What do you do when the love of your life, the man you let slip through your fingers because you couldn’t get out of your own head and be the one he needed, slips away from you completely? And when you suddenly find yourself in the position to be there for him again, seeing him, being near him, watching him live his life... what would you do?
That is the question that Ethan must ask himself when faced with the fact that Zeke has had enough! Zeke tells him in no uncertain terms, that he needs to be away from Ethan because the pain is just too much.
But they are family. The Sinners of Seattle have always been that way no matter how much time and how much hurt has passed between them. Now, Zeke is doing whatever he can to kick his addictions for good... even if that includes Ethan.
But Ethan will stop at nothing to get the man he loves back, including finally accepting the true nature of his sexuality and being okay with the world knowing.
This was everything I needed this book to be and I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to receive and early reader copy!!
Not only was it great to see Ethan and Zeke again, but the rest of the band mates, with their ups and downs and all the drama they each bring to the table.
After the not so shocking cliffy from the first book, I was pleasantly surprised with book 2! Somehow Finding Us by Claudia Burgoa finally focused on Zeke and Ethan's underlying issues. It was primarily about them finding themselves, before they could ultimately find and love each other.... A Journey of self discovery and redemption. Unfortunately, for Zeke and Ethan it took an almost near death experience for them to get their acts together. Their lives were an emotional rollercoaster. Zeke was suffering through drugs and alcohol, while Ethan denied himself real happiness. Neither one knew their self worth and were miserable!
I enjoyed their road to happiness... Although, it took them the majority of the book to get there. Zeke finally grew a pair and put Ethan in his place, while putting himself first. (I was waiting for this the entire first book.) He worked his butt off to stay clean and healthy. He changed his life all for the better. As for Ethan, he finally manned up and became the man he was meant to be. Not only for himself but for Zeke too. Through lots of therapy and a great support system, these two men found the happiness they deserved. Like I said, most of the book was them working on themselves... I would have like to have witnessed them as a couple or even dating for longer.
The other members of The Sinners of Settle made appearances. Most of which I was happy about but there were a few over dramatic scenarios like the first book that I could have done without. All and all this duet wrapped up nicely. The epilogue was very sweet.
Oh, gosh! Adored Ethan and Zeke's painful yet life-affirming love story.
"This is one of the problems I have with this guy. He's like a sizzling hot pan. I'm butter. Just being close to him melts my conviction."
They had a tough journey dealing with their own personal issues, as well as finding their way back to each other on a level playing field. Zeke battled to come to terms with his addictions and feelings of self-worth. Ethan battled just as hard to accept and love himself for who he truly was. Both needed to learn to love themselves before they were ready to be together. It was beautiful watching them make amends and let themselves love each other again.
"Things between us are strange. It feels like dawn. There are a few rays of sunshine and light colors cutting through the darkness, but the night dominates the atmosphere."
This story had all of the author's usual trademark ingredients of humour, deep emotions, painful angst, and strong family ties and bonds of friendship and loyalty. Loved it so much! #ZethanForever
Talk about all the feels. I am not even sure what to say about this book without spoiling it for you. As the second book in the Second Chance Sinners duet this story picks up where the first one left off. This book, this whole duet, is so much more than a love story. Somehow Finding Us focuses on Zeke and Ethan both working on themselves, before they even attempt to have a relationship. So many lessons to be learned from this.
I absolutely loved how much these characters grew in this book. Learning to recognize their flaws, spot and avoid their triggers, and most of all be true to themselves first. I enjoyed reading a romance novel where the two main characters spend so much time focusing on their own mental health before trying to have their relationship.
This book was the perfect, healing ending to this duet. I love so many of the characters in these books.
I'm a sucker for a second chance, and that from one of my must-read authors meant there was no way I'd miss this duet, and talk about a journey! Ethan and Zeke are two characters I won't soon forget. They each have their hurdles and the story is loaded with feels from start to finish. This isn't the first time Claudia Burgoa has had my emotions all over the place and I'm sure it won't be the last, but this Second Chance Sinners duet ranks right up at the top of my list of favorite emotional reads. I realize I'm being vague, but I don't want to go too far and give too much away, so I'll just say, Read it, you won't regret it.
Magnificent! Oh my heart this was so enthralling that I didn’t want it to end. This is book 2 of this wonderful duet. Zeke and Ethan have a lot to deal with in this one and we go on an emotional roller coaster with them as they discover themselves and work their way back to each other. I adore these characters and they are so wonderful apart but together - wow!! Claudia once again has exceeded my expectations and has produced a book that had me riveted and I devoured it as soon as it hit my kindle. Five stars doesn’t seem enough. I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion but you really need to read this duet.
What an amazing read that started with my heart ripped open picking up from book one and then wow! The growth and coming to terms with everything in life in this read was mind opening. Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed this read and the path Claudia took me on as a reader
Somehow Finding Us by C. Burgoa is book two in this series and is best read in order. The previous book is Pieces of Us, part one of Ethan and Zeke's story. The story picks up where Pieces of Us was left off. Ethan and Zeke both have a long way to go, a lot to learn, secrets to reveal. This story deals with sensitive subject, consider you warned. It's the emotional, heart-wrenchingly beautiful story of lost souls that gave me all the feels, checked all my boxes. An outstanding duet, 5 stars.
This book is the 2nd in a Duet and you must read Pieces of Us first. We were left with a broken heart and Somehow Finding Us takes us down a winding path to finding how to truly love yourself before you can open up to a relationship with another. The lies we tell others and cover ups become a shield that is very difficult to come out from under. Not only is it scary, but we have no idea who we are without it.
This book digs deep into the soul of Ethan and who he is and what he and Zeke could have been. Zeke had his addictions to overcome and Ethan his fears. Seeing so many friends from other books was wonderful! I saw comments in other reviews that a lot of the other characters confused them, but if you have read Claudia's other books, it was so heartwarming to see so many beloved family from her other series intertwining 💖. If you haven't read their stories, you definitely need to! They are all amazing!
This duet claimed my heart from the first book until the Epilogue. I was so happy to see my guys get their well deserved HEA. This is so worth TWENTY STARS!
After the ending of Pieces of Us, you kind of knew, but didn't, but then hoped things were going to start out differently in this second book for Zeke and Ethan. Claudia Y. Burgoa gave her readers a long and winding emotional road for these characters to navigate in the aftermath of book one.
There were a lot of moving parts in the first book, so much so that I felt disconnected from the characters and sadly, it was the same this time around. While we have the whole gang present and accounted for, I still didn't really know who was who and who belonged where.
That said, I did enjoy the long haul these characters put in and the help they sought to better themselves and the relationships around them. There was a lot of back and forth and the angst setting stayed pretty low. While we all knew how it was going to end, the journey was an interesting one.
The book is well written and I loved the email aspects thrown in. So much more can be said to a person when it's written down. While I'm disappointed that I couldn't invest more, Somehow Finding Us was a nice end to this duet.
