I adore Nana Malone’s romantic suspense stories about biracial couples! She writes feisty heroines and swoony heroes with a lot of danger, humor, sexual tension, banter chemistry, and happy endings. In this case, Rook, has a mission that requires him to return to his difficult past and the girl he left behind in a messy, complicated way. Now he is back and she hates him for abandoning her. Things just keep getting messier for Rook as he tries to keep focused on his mission, despite competing priorities. You have to read to find out whether Rook meets his goals, Nissa meets hers, and the Rogues meet theirs. I highly recommend the Gentlemen Rogues series and this book as well worth it. I am voluntarily submitting this review after reading an advanced complementary copy.

Want an action filled, spicy book to help knock the winter cold out? You don’t have to look any further!!! The Rook by Nana Malone has it all! Second chance at love, check! Evil villain/evil Godparent, double check!!! Sexy as all get out bodyguard, 100% check!! The Rook brings Westin Rourke and Nissa Montgomery together after years apart. Without giving any spoilers, Westin and Nissa are full of excitement and surprises! Nothing says I love you like a punch to the face or a bullet wound. The thing that also makes any Nana Malone book exciting is that oftentimes her universes overlap. In this case, if you have read any of her other series, you will recognize a familiar character or two. While this does end with a cliffhanger, the main story is wrapped up nicely. The Rook adds more lore to the Rouge Division as well and makes me long for the story behind Gabe! I can’t wait to read The Spy!!!
Delightful fun
It was another thrilling edition to this fantastic series. There was all the gooey yummy stuff that made for an exciting story. There was mystery, revenge, suspense, ethically questionable characters and oh that surprise at the end was brilliant. Great job Nana. Until next time y’all happy reading.
