I am a newer fan of AL Jackson. The first book I read and reviewed from her was Say It's Forever. It's easily one of my favorite books I've read in 2022 and with good reason. These books are up there as well. Three books that are so wonderfully intertwined and beautifully written.

The guys:
I fucking loved all three guys. I don't even know who I love more. All are the alpha males we know and love.
Jace. The big brother, the caretaker. He took the fall for something he thought his brother did to protect him and went to jail because of it. Also lost the woman he loved. N ow, years later, will do anything to protect her.
Ian. He's so broken because of his past. Blames himself for what happened when he was a kid. So he fights his past and becomes a powerful attorney.
Maxon "Mack". The protective teddy bear. Rebelled against his horrible father, changed his life around and became a detective.

The gals:
All protective of their families, which I love. All ferocious in their own way.
Faith — I I loved her immediately because of her big heart. The second she saw Jace and Ian struggling, she helped them. A baby angel she is.
Grace — She's such a fiery mama. Did whatever it took to get out of her horrible marriage to protect her and her children. Now she needs someone to help fight with her. Maybe even *for* her. HEHE
Isabel "Izzy" — THIS ADORABLE THING. So strong, so hurt, but still has so much love in her heart. I loved all the ladies and their kids, but Benjamin was the absolute best. I cried a handful of times because of that sweet boy.

This series was beautifully written. I loved every minute of it (minus the OW drama). The guys just needed someone to fight for them, to show them to let go, that they weren't their pasts and had incredible futures ahead of them.

If I have one complaint, it's the use of the phrase "the girl" in all her books that I've read so far. It seems so unemotional and detached. Especially because AL Jackson's men are some of the most passionate and swoony men around.

[I received an advanced copy of this book. All opinions and words are my own.]

This bound-up includes three books;
1. More of You
2. All of Me
3. Pieces of Us

All of these stories are heartachingly beautiful, small town romances. They'll each break your heart and then repair it. There's so much angst and tension, as well as suspence, where there's some dark goings on that these couples need to work through until they can reach their HEA and each HEA is well earned.

I cried. A. Lot. But there was also so many cute and sweet moments, with the kids, and so many romantic/heated scenes that I was feeling all the feels. A. L. Jackson writes spice and romance so well, yes, but honestly I'm obsessed with how cute the kids are and how warm and fussy the families end up being.

Each story is it's own couple, but there are camios from the other characters in these books, so it is recommended to read in order (what better way to do that then to read the bound-up!) :) Ian and Jace are brothers, the heros of the first two books, and third, Max, is their best friend and honestly, Max is my fave - from book 1! 🔥 They were all great though 😍

Average of 2.5/5 🌶 for this series - recommended for adult readers due to explicit spicy fun times 😉

I recommend the audiobook!

More of You is the story of Jace and Faith
- teen love, second chance
- single parent
- small town
- pining, angst, heartache
- close proximity (for her safety)

Faith had met Jace in highschool, and the connection was undeniable; except Jace's world was a dark one, with a younger brother and cousin that he was responsible for there was a lot he had to carry. The weight of his world asked for a payment, and he paid it, despite the heartache he caused Faith, and himself. For 10 years he maintained a safe distance and watched from the sidelines as Faith moved on (as much as she could) but he had to come back into her life for her safety. Now, he had no intention of letting her go again.

All of Me is Ian and Grace's story
- small town
- slowburn
- single parent
- one meeting turn to obsession

Ian is focused on his career and his life-style doesn't account for commitment or love; yet this woman, this stranger he meets one night takes hold of his mind - Grace... He's not used to these feelings, he can't help but pursue this woman. Grace wants nothing more then to let Ian in, but she can't let herself fall for it, for him, because her past is dark, and her life is a mess, not to mention she has so much more to lose - she can't risk that for a playboy can she?

Pieces of Us is Max and Izzy's story
- small town
- second chance at first love
- slowburn
- single parent
- short(er) book

Maxon was Izzy's first love, and when he ended things, it left her heartbroken, so much so that she left town and had intended never to return. But now, 13 years later she is returning to town, kids in tow, and her heart still aching from the damage Max left behind. It seems years apart has done little to dampen their chemistry, and emotions run high all over again, like no days have gone by...exept that they have and Max is trying to claim her heart once again.

Check TWs but overall this is not 'dark' romance, rather it is suspense with some dark themes

♥️ MORE OF YOU

More of You is the first book in A.L Jackson’s new series, Confessions of the Heart. Between this story being a second chance romance and A.L’s poetic way of writing, I knew I was going to fall in love. And I did. Extremely hard. I don’t want to spoil anything so I will make this quick.

Jace walked away from Faith ten years ago. It tore them both up inside but Jace thought it was for the best. She deserved a better life than he could give her. He always knew she was too good for him. He saw the way the rest of the town looked at him. Never her. She looked at him with love and hope. But he knew she would be better off without him so he walked away.

Ten years later and he was back. The chemistry is still there. The intensity of their past was still alive. They had to fight against it. He was there for one reason and one reason only. To do what was right. Will it break them even more or will it save them?

I absolutely loved this story! It was emotional, suspenseful, and cute. It’s full of light, darkness, and all the shadows in between. If life of adulting didn’t get in the way, I would had finished it in one day. The writing is just as beautiful as the story. A.L never fails to give me all the feels.

Quotes:

“Help?” Her tone was sharp.
“That was what he said.”
“Oh, I’m sure he’d gladly help get you right out of your panties.”

“The only repayment I need is that one day I might see a real smile on your face.”

“I could look at a million other women. A thousand sunsets. Every exotic beach. And you would still be the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”

♥️ ALL OF ME

All of Me is the second novel in the Confessions of the Heart series by one of my favorite authors, A.L Jackson. It can be read as a standalone but I do recommend reading More of You since it’s brilliant, sexy, and sweet. It is also where you are first introduced to Ian, Jace’s cocky brother. Well, now it’s his turn to fall to his knees.

Ian is one of the most powerful attorneys in Charleston. He did whatever he needed to do to climb the ladder. To make it all the way to the very top. To run the firm. To be in control. He was ruthless in the courtroom and more so on the outside of one. Nothing got in his way. He vowed to himself when he was seventeen that no one would hold him back or push him down. He was only loyal to very few. His brother and his family, and to his best friend Mack. Nobody else mattered. Clients were just clients. Women were just for pleasure. He knew he was selfish and arrogant. Especially, when he wanted something. And right now, it was this woman. She had legs for days and he wanted them wrapped around his waist. Only she had other plans, like running away.

Grace was in this room for only one reason. This man was not it. He was just like all the other men in the room. An arrogant prick who only wanted one thing. Well, he can want all he wants but she isn’t giving in. She didn’t get what she wanted from this night so she was gone. What she didn’t expect was that she would see Ian again and he was exactly what she needed. An attorney she somehow came to trust. One that wasn’t afraid to go toe to toe with the devil himself. Because he thought he was the devil himself.

Ian and Grace’s relationship is off-limits. He can not sleep with a client. The problem? He already did. And he wanted another taste. Something he never wanted. One taste was usually enough. He never even craved that one taste with others, it was just a means to an end. But, with her? It was everything. She was changing him. But, they had to keep it professional. Even though, the sexual tension was felt by everyone around them. This was the biggest case of his career. It could bring him to the top. He couldn’t let her get in the way.

I loved this book! So fucking hard. I can’t get into all the hows and whys without ruining the story but I will say it gave me all the feels. It has it all. Suspense. Heat. Love. Anger. Hope. Loss. Humor. I will even go as far as saying that it’s my favorite A.L book! It

Overall...read the book! You will not regret it. It’s full of everything I look for in a book.

Quotes:

“I’ll just keep enjoying the hunt.”
“You goin’ huntin’, Uncle Ian? My daddy told my mama you nofin’ but a dog.”

“You make me feel like I’m standing at the edge of something brilliant. Something significant,” I confessed in a twined rasp of words.

His beauty so intense it was almost a tragedy.

♥️ PIECES OF YOU

6 Hearts

Pieces of Us is the third book in the Confessions of the Heart series by the ever-poetic and talented, A.L Jackson. It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the previous books because they are fantastic! I don’t want to spoil anything so I will make this fast.

Izzy fell in love with the boy next door when she was four. She didn’t even know what love fully meant but she knew she wanted to marry him. Protect him. Be his everything. At seventeen, he broke her and she ran. And now at thirty, she was back in the town she said she would never come back to. Too many memories. Good and bad. Now, she just needed to avoid those feelings she always had for him. She couldn’t go down that road again even if he was everything and more.

Mack is shocked to see her. Hit with a wave of wanting. He thought about her every day for the last thirteen years. He still knew he wasn’t good enough for her but she was just as tempting now as she was then. His best friend. His only love. He knows he hurt her badly but was this fate? Her being back. It was like he could breathe again.

I absolutely loved, loved, loved this book! It’s such a beautiful story full of all the emotions. I cried probably a dozen times. A.L’s writing is also so poetic and this one just might be my favorite of hers. I felt their connection. Their bond. I loved the characters. I was invested in them. I loved the way Mack didn’t hide his feelings. He put himself out there even if he was in danger of being shot by her daddy. And I loved Izzy’s strength.

Overall...it was epic!! I loved every minute of their story. It’s inspiring, sweet, sassy, sexy, and one emotional ride.

P. S. Make sure to sign up for bonus scene!

Quotes:

“And how do you stop being afraid of the one thing that can destroy you?”
“I don’t know. Maybe you slay it.”

“Little Bird, Little Bird, stuck in a tree.”
She giggled, her heart feeling light. “Dragon, dragon, come and rescue me.”

Flames flickered beneath the bare caress. The man my fire, my cold body begging to come alive under his scorching touch.

This anthology is such good value.

I listened to it on Audible and it was one of the most powerful series’ I’ve read. I don’t think it gets nearly enough hype. The characters are so wonderful, the way the authors intertwined the complexities of parenting through trauma is truly beautiful.

More of You
In one word of A.L. Jackson’s new series is Wow. We have a man who by all counts on the outside might seem bad yet inside he is a true gentleman. Then we have a woman who is the most sweetest, kind and generous person to see a man beneath the tough exterior. One is looking for an escape and the other is looking to well live. These two complete each other where there is a point where they start acting as one. I loved that A.L. Jackson shows us flashbacks of their lives making us see what brought them together yet see the hope and love is still there. The start of a new series will make you want well more of Jace and Faith. Loved it.

All of Me
Goodness gracious I knew when I finished Jace's story we might see Ian again but dang A.L. Jackson just wowed me with him and Grace. Here is a playboy so to speak with no care in the world yet still haunted from his past. It is because of this he is well how he but when he meets Grace everything disappears. The thing I loved the most besides Ian and Grace are the kids such cutiepies and boy do they make Ian see what he been missing. Seeing all of them together and him coming to grips with his past was beautiful. All in all this is a series that will tear you apart but each man is not complete without their women and man Grace is just perfect for Ian in every way. Loved it.

Pieces of Us
Wow is all I have to say in this beautiful series by A.L Jackson. We see a little of Mack in the previous with Jace and Ian but man A.L. Jackson sure did save the best for last. There is so much between Izzy and Mack it is so easy to love them from the beginning. Seeing them reunite was tough but the one thing I love about A.L. is that it goes so quickly to loving them right away. It's not just Izzy and Mack but we see Ian, Jace, Faith and Grace how they have come along just touched my heart. This book is more than just second chances but of a love that knows no bounds, fears just pure love that surpasses everything.

I was so excited A.L. Jackson did her best stories all in one collection and this is one magic, beautiful book all coming together for a collection that will rock you to the core. I read all of these as standalones when they first released and seeing them again all in one book just reminded me again how talented A.L. Jackson is. The strength, love, passion these men have to fight for a life they never imagined possible was awesome. One thing for sure again about this series is you will never forget about these characters they are so memorable making you wonder how this author can bring them so lifelike. Loved it.

"The is such a beautifully written series of books, AL Jackson is another new author to me, I am so sad I waited so long to read her books.

More of You-a second chance at a forever love, Jace knows he messed up with Faith all those years ago. And now, he will do everything in his power to get her back. I had some misgivings on their love story at first, but then as I read on, that all melted away. This was a good start to this series.

All of Me-Ian was total jerk of epic proportions, until he meets Grace. He knows she is broken and as much as he tries to deny it, she has a pull on him he can’t ignore. Lot’s of angst at times I wanted to punch Ian, but he made up for it in the end.

Pieces of Us-I love a story with law enforcement, there is something so intriguing with their jobs, and add a sexy cop to the story, I am all in. Maxon is such a great character, he gives his all to protect his community. Izzy has come home to her childhood home, she’s not quite sure how to fit in again after all her years she was gone. Another second chance at love, they will need to get over everything from their pasts to make it work. "

I hadn't read these stories before so when I picked this up I was prepared to just lay down and read and that's what I did. I was sucked in and couldn't put it down. I practically devoured it. The angst, the sweetness, the characters, and so much more just gave my heart what I needed.

I absolutely loved this collection from start to finish! Each book is full of amazing characters, strong, resilient, struggles and full hearts. I felt connected to each story, the emotions were real and twisted my heart. I fought tears, smiled, and flipped pages. This is a must read collection of stories.

More Of You, book one

Wow! This was such an amazing read. Jace and Faith have such a deep connection that even through time, it couldn't be broken. What a ride though! I loved Jace and his protectiveness over Faith and her adorable daughter Bailey. I love the bits of suspense, the danger and nail biting! Everything works well together, flows and had me loving Jace and Faith more and more.

All of Me, book two

Holy smokes!! There is so much raw emotion here, I was fighting tears with moments I wanted to yell and scream! I loved it all so much. Ian and Grace have a pull to each other, but there's so much going on that adds to the roller coaster of feelings. Ian is a protector but he's put up these walls and seeing them crack and break throughout is intense. Grace is a fighter, down to her core and that protection of her kids twisted my heart. The kids are perfectly adorable and add so much to the heart of the story. A great read in this amazing series! I'm ready to dig in to the next book!

Pieces of Us, book three

This is such a great read that pulled at my heart. It is a second chance read with amazing characters that I was attached to immediately. I'd enjoyed the bits of Mack from the previous books in this series and to get to dig in to his life was not a let down. I was taken on a journey full of emotion, pain, love and heart. I absolutely loved this book!

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Jace is one complicated amazing strong hot alpha man. Faith is one amazing strong woman. They have a past. They have an amazing chemistry and super strong connection. Loved Bailey. What an amazing story of love and loss. Could not wait to see where the story would go.
Ian is one hot complicated broken man. Grace is one complicated over the top compassionate loving mother. Could not wait to see where the story would go. Love what Ian did for Grace and her kids. A must read.
Mack is one complicated cocky sexy man. Izzy is one strong amazing woman. The chemistry between them is off the charts. They make for one interesting complicated romantic couple. Could not wait to see where the story would go.

The writing is fine but the utter stupidity of the heroine. She had a key and a letter from her dead husband and she sat on it and didn't do anything with them or connect any dots until 35 more chapters. The entire time she was ignoring the threat and clues she had I was screaming at her. Like come on she had letters telling her they wanted something from her and all she did was cry and worry, like come on do some detective work.

Also both the hero and the heroine did everything except talk about stuff that actually mattered.

I couldn't focus on anything, like you can write a book describing everything under the sun but the plot progression has to make sense.

This author needs to tone down sentimental verbiage and metaphors. I only read the first book in this series. I couldn't tolerate anymore. It was hard to even finishing the first book.

Her modern day Shakespeare writing style annoyed me even more because Ironically, the passionate, sizzle & steamy scenes were lacking, short, bland & boring.

I gave this author a few chances, but she has always left me disappointed. This will be the last book I read from this author.

I didn’t like these books. The first and third ones were annoying because the women gave in way too easily when the men who hurt them returned to their lives. Not a single backbone to be found. The second book was way too instalove and that kinda ruined it. I also thought it was super weird how she made all the flashbacks in third person. Idk, the whole series was a fail for me.

Three books are included in this collection.

All three are wonderfully written and well told. The character development and overlap is consistent in all of the books and makes you really fall for all of the characters- even when some may be morally grey. You will root for them to overcome and persevere.

Listened to the audiobooks- narrators are all top notch of course

I’m I’m 28% in and I cannot hear the word “devotion” anymore! Gosh… so exhausting reading. Kind of predictable tbh…Not sure I’ll be able to go through them all. Perhaps I’m not devoted enough.
Soo… he’s rich enough to have empire, a Porsche, but cannot think about getting a bodyguard to the girls?
Ps.: so far, this freaking word has been used 28 times! Seriously? How’s this so highly ranked?

I'm drawn to A.L. Jackson's writing because it's so emotional. She doesn't hold back; she lets you feel everything her characters are going through. And when you read a series, those emotions build over time. You become invested in the characters' lives, and you care about what happens to them. It's a powerful experience.
