I read Alpha Mountain Hero so I knew both Hayes and Megan, at least I thought I did. Turns out I was wrong. I didn’t know them at all. Raf Reyes, aka Hayes, is a romantic, or at least as much of a romantic as a former SEAL can get. He’s all hard and tough on the outside but inside he’s just as sweet as can be. He knows Megan is the woman for him and he’s determined to win her no matter what. Megan had so very many layers that were never even hinted at in Hero and I was very surprised by them all. The opposite of Hayes she looks soft on the outside and inside she’s hard as nails. She doesn’t trust men for a second, guards her heart like Ft Knox, and has zero interest in anything that even remotely looks like a relationship. She fights her feelings for Hayes, constantly pushing him away, determined to not let him mean anything to her. Hayes is in it for the long haul and is there no matter what. Lots of action and complications fill the story in and combined with the love story at the heart of the book, this was one fantastic read.

Loved this! Book 2 in the Alpha Mountain series and it starts with a bang (literally lol). Hayes, the former SEAL & Megan, the town deputy. They are combustible together, but she’s got a past she wants to hide, so she only wants to keep it physical. He wants so much more. It’s a test of wills to see who wins
