I have two goals this 1. Be named captain of the Seattle Serpents. 2. Stay single.
I’m right on track…until she happens.
Auden Sinclair.
We’re stuck together for a night when our plane is forced to make an emergency landing, and that’s all the promise we make—one night, then we go our separate ways.
Except she pops up again. Then again.
Suddenly, she’s everywhere. In my head and in my bed, completely taking over my life and ruining all my plans with her quippy comebacks, her smarts, and a body that fits against mine just perfectly.
The problem? Auden is off limits. Forbidden. Strictly in the DO NOT TOUCH zone. She goes against all the rules, but never have I wanted to bend them as badly as I do when it comes to her.
This might be one battle I’m not going to win…
BODY CHECK is a standalone hockey romance novel. It contains a one-night stand, a billionaire heroine, a hot hockey player, obnoxious yet loveable teammates, goofy text threads, wit, plenty of steam, and a happy ending. This book does reference the death of a parent off the page.
TEAGAN HUNTER writes steamy romantic comedies with lots of sarcasm and a side of heart. She loves pizza, hockey, and romance novels, though not in that order. When not writing, you can find her watching entirely too many hours of Supernatural, One Tree Hill, or New Girl. She’s mildly obsessed with Halloween and prefers cooler weather. She married her high school sweetheart, and they currently live in the PNW.
MCs: - Hutch / Reed, 30s, hockey player - Auden, 29, billionaire hotel owner
Book info: - No cheating, opd - With third act breakup - Billionaire romance - Sports romance - Forbidden romance - Friends with Benefits - Death of a loved one (off page) - Parent abandonment - Commitment-phobe MCs - HFN (living together)
Overview: They met on a flight going to Seattle, but there was a storm, and an emergency landing was called for. They were basically strangers at this point, but for some reason they clicked, and they spent the night together. A month had passed before they met again, and every time they met, they ended up in bed together. Then, after a few weeks, I think, they found out that Hutch's team is partnered with Auden's hotel, and there's no fraternization clause in that contract. Which makes their FWB situation forbidden and probably a reason for them to stop whatever is going on between. Of course, they didn't stop, and then it backfired.
This was a light and sweet story, with little to no angst, and just fluffy overall. However, it's probably a me case, cuz I didn't like how things went down from 75% up until they got back together.
This hotel business is Auden's baby. She poured out her life and everything she had for this to be successful. But then, apparently, after being with Hutch, she realized that there's more to life and that her business isn't making her happy anymore. So she decided to sell her billion-dollar business to put down some roots, and she has no idea what to do after this sale.
Then Hutch was offered the captain role, which has been his goal since the beginning. But in order to have that, he needs to end his affair with Auden. As you know, he didn't even have a hard time doing it. He thought about it, but in the end, he chose the position. Then he slept with her for the last time and went away without saying a word. Auden didn't even know that would be their last time. I mean, what an asshole move from Hutch. Had he only talked to her about his dilemma, he would know that Auden no longer owned those hotels. She already sold her business, partially because of him.
Then four days passed without a word from Hutch because he was planning on not talking to her again. Then his teammates went to see Auden to tell her what happened or why he was acting like a dick and avoiding her.
Maybe she's just a better person, or, idk, because she went after him. Boarded the same flight, took the seat beside him, and relived the first time they met. I'm really not sure how to feel about this. He left and hurt her, yet she was the one who pursued him and fixed them. She also confessed her love first. I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Auden made a lot of sacrifices here in the name of love. I'm not sure to applaud her or be annoyed by all the things she did.
Overall, this could've been a 4-star read if only Hutch proved himself to be the man that Auden needed. If he had chosen Auden over the captain position, I would've rated this a 4 ⭐. But no, his career is way more important for him, and I don't want an MMC who would never put the FMC as his top priority.
Anyway, though this didn't work for me, other readers might find this up their alley.

I have never read a book that was so good, only to be butchered by just a few chapters towards the end. I’m sorry but you’re telling me, a billionaire woman who gave up her job partially for a guy only to be dumped and ignored by the said guy the very next day? Not only that, he even left without having a word with her. Just like that. What a flipping douche move. But I kept on reading because you know what, maybe she will show him what’s he is missing only to be let down by the outcome.
I mean seriously, the douche dumped her just like that, without any explanation and he picked his job over her (which says a lot about him because she loves him enough to leave her job but he didn’t and he couldn’t even tell her the reason why broke up with her).
But hold on, it gets worse. This mmc, right, he realized he’s in love with her because his friend had to help him to realize that, but still, he didn’t go to her and tell her that or to even explain why he did what he did. Wow, what a joke. It’s actually his friends that came clean to the fmc and explained to her what happened. And wanna know what she did? She re-enacted their first meeting on the plane. Yup, this woman, this so called billionaire, that got dumped with no explanation and got treated with a cold shoulder, had to lower her self worth and went to seek the guy to make things right. I actually liked Reed throughout the book but wow the last few chapters, he really, seriously let me down and turned out to be such a disappointment.
I couldn’t even bother to read the last chapter and the epilogue. This was 5 stars read for me until the breakup happened and it still could be 5 stars but knowing Auden was the one who had to get her man back when she was the one that got dumped and given no explanation for the breakup because Reed was to pathetic to come clean about his feelings, even 1 star is generous enough.

Body Check is the first book in Teagan Hunter's 'Seattle Serpents' series and it was so much fun. I love Teagan's hockey books and Auden and Hutch were great. They meet on an airplane in the funniest way and hit it off from there. Then they meet later and it's a shock to them both.
They had to be a little sneaky sneaky about their relationship for reasons, and only some of their friends knew. I'm excited to read more in this series with the 'Serpent Singles' group. Their group texts cracked me up. Also, that new Serpent's coach at the end... chefs kiss. I can't wait to read more in this series.
"This is just two strangers meeting. Two people who agreed to one night of fun. Two people who need the other in a carnal way. And I'm more than willing to see how this plays out."
Auden Sinclair owns hotels all across the country. Reed Hutchinson is a famous hockey player for the Seattle Serpents. Everything changes on one flight from New York to Seattle. Everything changes one night in Chicago. It was supposed to be one night. But what happens when their paths cross again?
"Welcome to the Sinclair, Mr. Hutchinson."
Auden Sinclair is a Hotel owning billionaire. Her whole life is her job. Reed Hutchinson is striving for captain for the Seattle Serpents. Their whole life is their job. So what happens one night in a hotel room in Chicago?
"This is probably reckless. Completely stupid. But right now, I don't care."
And what happens when their paths cross one more time? And when they find out who the other actually is? After all the Sinclair partnered with Seattle Serpents. And fraternizing is against the rules…
"I need to stop thinking about him. It was a one-time thing. I know that… but as much as my brain is on board, my body isn't, and right now it's still ignited by anything that reminds me of Hutch."
I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review.
✨4.25 stars✨
This book was so fluffy and cute. It was a cute hockey romance. And it was just what I needed.
Auden Sinclair is honestly a badass. She gave me mad Paris Hilton vibes in the best of ways!! And Reed Hutchinson was just 🥵🥵🥵 I mean it was supposed to just be one night right?
"She obeys. I like that she obeys."
And if you need to be convinced even more how much I liked this book. Well, I got you.
"You know, Auden. I never did eat dinner. And I'm fucking starving."
"You're doing such a good job. You take me so well, sweetheart."
"Tonight, Auden, tonight I'm going to taste you. For every lick, I want you to call out my name… Every single one. I leave for a week tomorrow. Don't want you forgetting whose pussy this is while I'm gone, now do I?"

Homegirl gave up her multibillion dollar company for him and he couldn’t even give up the title of “captain” in his hockey team for her.
The book was going fine until the 70-75% mark. I also can’t believe that even though he was the one who hurt her, *she’s* the one who ended up chasing him. Make it make sense.

She pursued him, she chased him she put in all the effort Then at the first opportunity to ditch her he did because he can't be captain if he keeps seeing her and he doesnt even have the balls to tell her he just gets up and ghosts her His teammates tell her the issue and what does this idiot do? She sells her hotel so it's no longer a conflict of interest and they can date SHE SELLS HER HOTEL FOR A MAN WHO CHOSE HIS CAREER OVER HER AND DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO TELL HER wtf It's such a shame because it's started off so well about this bad ass billionaire fmc who owns hotels and is richer and more successful than him but just ended up being a fucking doormat who sacrificed her career for him when he couldn't do the same for her. Yuck
Satey : No cheating No drama just idiots 3rd act break up but none was with op
i’m tempted to give this 3.5 for the sole reason of shep cameo ❤️ best man that ever existed and just his name being brought up has me giggling and kicking my feet
RATING: 4✨ SPICE: 2🌶 Trope/Setting Highlights: ✔ ~260 pages ✔ Contemporary sports romance ✔ Billionaire businesswoman FMC x hockey player MMC ✔ Forbidden relationship (no fraternization in work contract) ✔ HEA (series setup, book 2 appears to be about this FMC’s sister and another hockey player on the MMC’s team)
Review:
Body Check by Teagan Hunter is Book 1 in a new Seattle Serpents hockey sports romance series that follows Auden Sinclair, our super successful businesswoman FMC, who meets our hockey playing MMC Hutch while both are catching a flight back to Seattle.
After some banter and severe weather delays cause the pair to explore their immediate physical attraction, both assume it’ll be a one-night stand. And that’s OK. In fact, both Auden and Hutch, for different reasons, want nothing to do with long-term relationships. Not after Hutch’s high school sweetheart left him at the alter on their wedding day, or after Auden witnessed the absolute breakdown of her parent’s marriage while growing up.
Turns out, that one-night stand wouldn’t be so one-night after all. Auden’s latest business deal has her partnering with the Seattle Serpents, and guess who happens to be vying for the captain spot of the very same team?
Overall, this was a very fun, fresh read. The characters (most of them) but most especially the main characters were likeable, and they had natural chemistry that had me rooting for them until the end. The spice was good. Did the dirty talk get a little OTT and corny sometimes? Sure. But honestly, 9 out of 10 times I would appreciate and prefer an author giving a little too much than giving a little too little. More wet than dry, I guess – LOL. Honestly, don’t take it too seriously.
However, what I will take seriously is the lack of the MMC’s grovel. Like the set-up was RIGHT THERE. He was the ultimately catalyst of the main couple’s third act “break-up”. He’s the one that needed to grovel, to give the speech, to right the wrong. I wish that would’ve happened. And yes, while the FMC’s actions in theory were cute and certainly took the book full circle, it really was a MMC grovel moment if I ever saw one.
Book 2 in this series seems to be able one of Hutch’s teammates and the sister of the FMC. I’ll be completely honest, I’m a little hesitant, because I didn’t connect with either character all that well. The new MMC’s personality was a little strong and on the nose about being a stereotype of single manhood, and the new FMC was one of those that says quips and snips but in actuality is kind of mean. Maybe I’ll learn to love them when they’re the stars of their own show, but we’ll see.
Body Check is the first book in a new hockey romance series, Seattle Serpents, by Teagan Hunter! I’ve already loved her Carolina Comets hockey series and this looks like it’s going to be another fun series already! In this first book we have a bit of a forbidden relationship, between a hockey player and a billionaire heroine after a one-night-stand.
Hutch has two goals for this season with the Seattle Serpents: winning the Stanley Cup and becoming Captain. What he definitely doesn’t have time planned for is a relationship. The story starts off at the airport and he’s waiting for his flight when he has a couple run-ins with Auden, they are both having a drink in the first class lounge before the flight and end up as seatmates on the flight. They’re both nervous fliers and he ends up trying to keep her calm on the flight (gives her his headphones, holds her hand). When the flight has an emergency landing because of turbulence, they end up showing up at the same hotel and decide all the coincidences must be fate and they end up sharing a hot night together.
Both are married to their work, but can’t help being pulled to one another! A little later on Auden realizes they’re going to be in one another’s lives for work (she just signed a contract with his team) and things get complicated. He also starts to think she’s his good luck charm and needs to see her!
I had so much fun with this one! I loved the friendly-bickering teammates and their group text, her calling him “Mr. Grumbles” because he’s so grumpy upon meeting, all their coincidences in common, his hat and her stealing it multiple times, and seeing a billionaire heroine was so fun! The third act conflict did make sense with the setup of their relationship but it was still frustrating to see, and I do wish he did the grand gesture moment instead of her but all in all it went quickly at least. This does have some very loose crossover with the Carolina Comets series, as in it exists in the same world and is talked about/some players being traded from that team too. This was just great, low angst, and I already can’t wait for some more couplings from this group of teammates!
Body Check is the first book in Teagan Hunter's newest hockey series following the Seattle Serpents. Hutch is a veteran hockey player, but new on this team. The team hasn't had the best start to the season, leaving Hutch frustrated as to why he isn't playing as well as he used to. During a flight home, he gets stuck in first class with Auden Sinclair, the same woman who annoyed him in the airport lounge. These two go from bickering to a one night stand when bad weather leaves them stranded.
They figure they'll never see each other again, but they are both in for a shock when they come face to face and realize just how connected Auden is to Hutch's hockey team.
This was another low angst sports romance from this author. Hutch and Auden's relationship is forbidden due to the nature of their working relationship revealed in the book, but they can't seem to stay away from each other. Especially when Hutch deems Auden as his good luck charm. However, it was sweet to see them slowly falling in love with each other, and it taking their friends and family to help them realize that it's ok to let your guard down and give love another chance.
I am very excited for Lawson and Rora's book next! I can already tell this series will have that same found family vibe that I loved in the Carolina Comets series.
TROPES: sports romance (hockey); grumpy/sunshine; one night stand; love after heartbreak (hero); found family; rich hero/heroine; great friend group; low angst
No. Why the hockey literary world believes that male hockey players can only be successful or promoted if they give up personal relationships and women can only be considered happy and fullfilled if they give up careers for personal relationships is some 1950's bullshit. Women did not burn their bras for this.
This was quick, and cute, and swoony, and while I didn’t ~love~ the little miscommunication bit (y’all have cell phones??? hello????) I did love that it brought in the rest of the players that Hutch hangs out with so we could see their stupidity in action.
Plus I cannot wait for Rory to give one of them a verbal lashing it is going to be 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
I loved it. It was fun. 100/10 specifically for vibes
This is Teagan Hunter’s best book and that’s all I’ll say *for now*.
*FOR NOW HAS ARRIVED*
The Seattle Serpents have big shoes to fill, but Body Check was a damn good start. So good, that I think this may be my favorite book Teagan Hunter has written.
I loved Hutch and Auden from the moment they had their meet cute in the airport bar and I continued to fall for them as things heated up on and off the ice. The banter between these two was sexy and fun, but nothing could come close to the spark they had behind closed doors. I highlighted this book like a crazy person because so many moments tickled my brain in all of the best ways. The text message threads. The Serpents Singles. And that epilogue?!
My Carolina Comet OGs are going to absolutely lose it.
I don't know what I was expecting, but it clearly was less than what I got because this book exceeded my expectations by miles. I fell in love with BOTH of these characters upon meeting them and the love held strong the whole entire book. Auden is a strong woman with a great head on her shoulders and she hasn't had time to slow down. You know, between building a hotel emipre and becoming a billionaire before 30. Hutch has been traded to Seattle and he isn't sure how he feels about it. He is a bit older in the game and knows that the younger guys on the team could use his guidance, but he doesn't realize just how broken he is. That is, until he meets Auden and his world changes. She fills in the cracks that used to be dark and fills his days with light. There is only one problem, her hotel company partners with his team and they can't do whatever they are doing. Too bad fate has other plans. GAH. I don't know what else I can say other than I couldn't put this book down, I loved all the characters and I can't wait for their own stories so we can get deeper into their minds and the little suprise at the end with the new coach had me grinning ear to ear. I absolutely LOVED, LOVED this book.
Referring to the singular bartender as they/them bullshit. Im OUT. Keep cultural propaganda out of fiction. We come here for an escape from real world insanity! 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
*sigh* what to say … what to say … I am for real stuck in my head about this story. The best way I can tell you how this story hit me is to tell you that when adults behave badly, I get twitchy! Adults behaved very badly in this story. Sometimes, when *bĂtsĤΪt crazy* circumstances happen in a book I think to myself “I wonder if the author ever thought how he/she would react to this circumstance if it was happening to them”, and almost always the answer is “not today Satan”. At least I like to think they’d say that. This book has been out for a while now so I feel I can say what I need to say without any kind of spoiler mark … WHY? Why would you write a successful empowered woman just to have her make the choice to flip her entire sense of self (at 30 years of age) for a man who is completely self-involved and possibly a narcissist. WHY? ONE circumstance and a story is completely flipped on its axis and ruined. #twitchy I won’t bore you with the details of the chain of ridiculous decision making of adults not adulting properly, but I mean … did I seriously read/listen to a teammate tell Auden that Hutch was in love with her. She hears it from a teammate? Really? STOP.IT. *shakes head* It goes downhill from there.
But here’s the thing, this story was actually very well written, until it wasn’t. Unfortunately for this story, that thing that made it not great was a huge thing. It basically erased all the good this story had to offer. I am SHOOK OVER IT. Blowing up a story for the sake of a third-act break-up is absolutely ludicrous to me. I will never understand why authors make that choice. By having Hutch do what he did, it made Auden’s decision less than what it was and it took the sails right out of the story. I am SHOOK over it.
So let me tell you about the good stuff. The team set-up and comradery were well done and very entertaining. The relationship between Hutch and Auden was sexy and flirty and fun! The hockey aspect of the story was well represented without taking away from the romance. I think there were many plot-points that were a little cliché and could have been written with a fresh outlook, but I’m not a writer so what do I know? *shrug* I like Teagan Hunter’s voice and style. I’ve listened to both her Carolina Comets series and Texting series more than once. I’m a fan. I will continue to be a fan because this is just one book and in the grand scheme of things, not a huge deal, but maaaaaaaaan, that last minute "whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?" hurt! Cheers to never going thru that again!
🎧NARRATION:🎧 Tim Paige & Stella Hunter nailed their respective characters perfectly and to the point. Exactly how I pictured both Hutch & Auden, Tim and Stella narrated them. It was perfect for me. They really did an outstanding job with this story! Huge 👏🏻👏🏻round of applause👏🏻👏🏻 to them both!
While the narration was an outstanding 5++ experience for me, I can only give the story itself 3 stars. It was a solid 4 stars until it wasn’t. *shrug* Technically if I apply math (lol) to those ratings to come up with an overall rating, we all can see it would be higher than the 3 stars I am giving it, but I can’t do 4 stars.
My first book by this author and it was an absolute delight!
I knew going in that this was a billionaire, one night stand, hockey romance, but what I didn't realize that the billionaire was the FMC! I loved that!
Auden and Hutch meet while traveling and despite his grumbly exterior, the two bond over their flying anxiety. They keep running into each other, she says it's fate, he says it's coincidence, and end up falling into bed together. It's all fine and dandy until weeks later, Auden realizes that she'd signed a deal partnering her company with Hutch's hockey team...and there's a clause against fraternizing. Oops.
The two continue with their secret rendezvous and we get to see them fall into lust and love with one another.
I thought this was cliché in the best way. You can kind of tell where this book is going but the journey getting there is still really enjoyable. What was missing for me was more emotional/relationship development. We know the two are remarkably compatible in the bedroom, but I wanted to see more heart-to-hearts and a deeper connection between the two.
Also...the third act conflict.... I love the drama but the FMC selling off her company for a man while said man did nothing to fight for her? No.
Outside of that, this book was a quick read and I always adore reading camaraderie between teammates. I'm looking forward to the author's future works with the Seattle Serpents!
Like…. This wasn’t really all that good in multiple ways but I also couldn’t stop reading and ended up reading it in 24 hours?? So I am confused
It was an addictive book, and I liked both of the characters well enough but I felt like every aspect of this book was underdeveloped. Their connection (that we got to see) was almost completely sexual. I wish we got to see more meaningful conversations and moments between them and less sexual content. Also, the ending was a little perplexing because he did quite literally nothing to fight for her or their relationship?? What do you MEAN she literally sold her whole company for him and he didn’t even think of potentially giving up the captain position to be able to be with her??? Not a fan of that…
I will say I loved that the billionaire trope was a woman tho🤪
sexual fastburn emotional slowburn always gonna hit the buzz meter yeah i was giggling n shit but this angst did NOT! i needed him miserable in her presence after that breakup. mind you it was barely a breakup to begin with that man said no talk no texts just vibes she’ll get that we’re over like boi WHAT? 😐 AND she did the grand gesture + ily first bc she listened to the boys …. literally this is criminal angst omg a dark day for women everywhere pls
i’ll say this again but i love sports romances written by teagan hunter the most actually. and she kinda writes her sports men exactly how i imagine them to be irl and not some fantasized version like idk it’s REAL! which is why most of her men are medium ugly to me. you’re lying if you think they should all be sexy in your head bc what sports team is every single man attractive ? none, correct! likeee it’s just the one popular pretty boy and another guy fighting ugly allegations in his off season bc he shaved 🤣🤣 food for thought. we don’t gotta want them all but at least they didn’t waste our time. not every man needs to stand out and that’s ok! we’re looking at the WAGs anyways
i had high hopes this might be one of my top 3 of her hockey books by the first half but that ending was just terrible. if auden’s personal struggle with the company was written throughout the book as opposed to mentioned towards the end by her friend (and not in any relation to him), her decision would’ve made more sense. girly said it wasn’t for him but like … yes it was. and in THIS ECONOMY ? FOR A MAN ? nope!
anyways finished it in a few hours tho slump might be cured let’s keep this going WHO’S NEXT!
Body Check was SO FUN! I picked it up and couldn’t put it down. It’s book #1 in the Seattle Serpents series so we’ve got a whole new team to fall in love with. And fall in love we did🫶 We’ve got new faces, a couple of old faces (any other Carolina Comets fans out there??), and so much banter!
Body Check follows the POV of Auden and Hutch, a duo that first finds themselves in an unfortunate flight situation. After an unforgettable night, the two find themselves doing just that: not forgetting that night 🥵
While a few more run ins ensue, it eventually comes to light just who the other is. - Hutch: star hockey player - Auden: owner of a top hotel chain Issue? Auden’s hotel chain just recently entered a contract with Hutch’s hockey team. Result? According the contract, the two can’t date 😪
Does that stop them? You’ll have to read and see 🤭
🏒
✅ Spice ✅ Hockey ✅ Billionaire FMC ✅ One Night Stand ✅ Forbidden Romance Body Check clearly has it all 😮💨
This was such an awesome book to kick off the series! I’m excited to see more of the other characters. I can already tell this series is going to be funny, spicy, and sportier than ever!
Thank you Teagan Hunter and Valentine PR for an eARC in exchange for my honest review <3
I absolutely loved being back with my favourite hockey romance author in the new Seattle Serpents series and Body Check was just as good. I loved how equal they were and their relationship it was so natural and just a connection neither of them could deny. It was really short whilst that was amazing and super fast to read, I did find it made it harder for me personally to connect to the characters and romance but I can certainly see how this could be someone's fave.
I cannot wait for Hayes book, tbh, I thought that's who we were going to get given the epilogue of glove save but nonetheless I'm so excited to continue this series.
Also the cameo from Smith and Emilia (two of my all time faves, well I swooned and am so happy that they will probably be consistent figures in this series <33)
Hockey romances have been hitting the spot lately and this one didn't disappoint. Hutch is a veteran hockey player and is supposed to be staying single. That is until he meets this woman on his flight that it scared of flying. Auden is the hotel owner that has signed a contract with the Seattle Serpents for them to stay at her hotels when they're playing! Little did she know her one night stand was with one of the players! These two had the best chemistry. She falls in love with hockey and with Hutch without even realizing it. And both of them have to make a tough decisions especially if Hutch wants to be captain! Such a good read and can't wait for the next one!
When are authors going to learn we don't wanna meek, shy and submissive heroines any more????? They are boring AF and predictable to the bone! 🥱🥱🥱
I really liked this one - sexy, smart and her own person.
And then the author shits on everything in the end, when the heroine sacrifices everything for a dude who, not only stomps on her like last weeks snow, but leaves even without a word, like a coward he is. And it is called romance? 🤢🤢
PATHETIC!

this was a sweet and short read, and I already can't wait for the rest of the series, but I wasn't a fan of the third-act breakup… why make Auden sell her company so they can be together??
Teagan always comes up with stories that I love, since the Carolina Comets my love for hockey romance books grew and with the start of this new series it will be no exception.
Since Neutral Zone we saw Hutch get traded to another team and that led to this book and the introduction in the first chapter of the guys on the team?friends, which I love because that gives way to these guys treating each other like brothers and that is what I love most about these books. We see Auden and Hutch meet, have a night of passion (and what a night, I tell you), and go their separate ways, but every romantic story has to end happily.
Hutch was a great character, I liked that he was so focused on his career and his goal of being captain of the team that when he found out who Auden was, even though he was scared, he didn't back down and yes, the boy is (was) a playboy afraid of commitment, but that's not how we like it? or at least I like it; there was a part that even though I understand why, I didn't really like the action he took (I won't tell you because it's a spoiler).
Auden on the other hand, she is the sugar mommy, literally and just like that, she is the owner of a hotel chain that makes a contract with the Serpents team and that is why it is forbidden for these two to be together; she seemed like a super cool FMC to me, she really surprised me and it was refreshing to read her personality.
I liked the relationship between these two, even though it is forbidden, I liked that even though they are both stubborn with commitment and felt that fear of the unknown, they did not give up, even though I saw that the drama was completely predictable, I also liked the way it was executed. Auden takes an action that shocked me because it was the first time I read something like that from the FMC side. Did I like it? I have my reservations, but for the most part it was good.
A book with all the essence of Teagan, full of a team that is there for you, that jokes about everything but above all that they give everything on the ice. I can't wait for the next book of this series because I definitely feel like I would really like it.
Thank you to Teagan Hunter and Valentine PR for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review 📚!!

A neoľutujete.
