The Watcher is book four in the Men of Hidden Justice series by Melanie Moreland. I have been loving this series since the beginning but ladies and gentlemen, I believe I have a new favorite. I am so in love with Damien and Raven.
Damien DeSalvo is known by his team as The Watcher. Because that is what he does, he watches. He runs Elite Security and is also behind the scenes for Hidden Justice. His talent lies with technology. He can hack into just about anything. He keeps his team mates safe by covering their tracks on line. No matter what his training though, nothing could have prepared him for the woman who came through the door of the bar he was sitting in that night and throwing herself into his arms. He knew immediately that she belonged there and from that moment on, she was his.
Raven Bailey is a school teacher and she adores her job, loves every single child. But she also longs for companionship. So she tried an online dating site which led her to both the worst thing she had ever had to deal with and also the best, to Damien.
Damien never understood what his friends and ex-bosses had meant when they talked about the feeling when they each met the women they now love, that it was like lightening. He understands now. He will do whatever it takes to keep Raven safe. But the man he is looking for is like a ghost. He can’t find a trail of him anywhere. Which makes him even more determined. He will just have to keep Raven close while she is in danger. And if he has his way, even after the danger is past.
I have so much I want to say about these two but not enough space. Damien is all alpha protective and possessive which I love. But he’s also sweet, caring, loving, funny and just wonderful. He seemed easier to relate to than any of the previous book’s heroes. He was completely open with Raven, having watched and learned from his friends and the mistakes they made with their women. And Raven was so strong, but also soft and caring and also ornery! I loved that she listened to Damien and followed his advice.
We also get to know another of Damien’s team mates, Egan. And I am already in love with him. He made me smile so much! I adored this book and couldn’t put it down. It was both sweet and sexy, romantic and so suspenseful. I pretty much lived in this world from page one until the end. Thank you to Melanie Moreland for yet another wonderful addition to this series. I adore Damien and Raven.

"Sometimes love is worth the risk"
I was one of the people who asked Melanie for a book about Damien. It just seemed unfair that he'd be the one left on his own when he clearly had so much to offer. I'm not the slightest bit sorry.
Damien is everything I could have hoped for, and more. And this is now my favorite book in this series.
"He exuded power. Even frowning, he was sexy. And when he smiled, his sexiness exploded."
Damien has all the protectiveness of all other heroes in this series, but with a twist. He's still alpha, but with a caring side I found endearing. He could switch from being a danger to anyone who dared threaten Raven to being the sweetest, swooniest thing when it came to her. And sexy. And hot. And dirty-mouthed.
"You bewitch me, Ravenna Jade."
Raven felt very real. She's in a bad situation, and she wants to be protected and cared for - to an extent. Because she's used to handling things by herself. She's not a happy person, but she comes to life around Damien and her friends, and her instincts are spot on. A lot of heroines would not have the strength she did.
"No one can protect you like me. I was sitting there for the same reason."
"Which is?"
I tilted my head, studying her. "Waiting for you."
One night, Damien finds himself having a drink and waiting for dinner. Alone. As usual. Until a brunette comes bursting in through the doors and they kiss. Weird? Maybe. But in his line of work, he immediately knows something's off and that she's in danger. And that brings out his protective side in a heartbeat, and something else he thought he had shut out. Something he thought he'd never have, after he'd seen his friends falling desperately in love.
"I don’t want to cause you trouble."
I shook my head. "Trouble and I are old friends."
Raven needs help, but she's not quick to trust him. She wouldn't be, after what she's been through. With patience and time, some innuendos and sexy jokes, he gets her to open up to him. He's instantly worried because he's used to dealing with the scum of the earth. And he knows he needs to keep her safe more than he needs anything else in the world.
"Together, we were an inferno, and I was lost the moment his mouth touched mine."
They're... difficult. They're clearly attracted to each other, he makes all sorts of swoony comments and quite a few sexy ones no one could ignore. But she doesn't want to be a bother, she doesn't want to disturb his seemingly perfect life. The thing is... she already has. And he has absolutely no problem with it.
"I’ll keep going slow until you catch up with me, but know I’m right here. With you. And I’m not going anywhere."
This is a romantic suspense story so I won't give away its twists and turns. Suffice to say she has someone obsessed with her, and the guy is willing to do anything to get her. But so is Damien, only everything he feels about her comes from a place of love.
"The only one who hears how you sound when we make love is me. I’m the only man who will ever hear that sound again."
They were perfect together. He's like a raging fire and she's the water that brings down the flames. And he creates some flames of his own because Damien... He's the hottest Man of Hidden Justice. I would love to have someone obsessed with me if he came to the rescue!
"You made me feel wanted."
"You were. You are."
Seriously now, they both stole my heart. He stole it then and there when he decided to shield her from the world, because that was special. How he was solid and there for her when that was everything she ever wanted. She stole it when she gave in and allowed herself to be happy. They both had a learning curve, and they both had to give in, but there was never a reason to doubt how perfect they are for each other.
"I can’t explain it. It’s as if you settled into a space in my heart I didn’t know was vacant."
I don't know if this is the last book in this series. I kind of hope we get at least a novella about two other characters and their own journey, but that's Melanie's choice.
I'm so happy she gave me Damien. Because we all need that someone whom we know will always be there. Watching, waiting, caring. Loving us the way we deserve to be loved.
Also, Melanie, can I claim him as mine? ;)

I am pretty much all over my feels on writing this review because it boils down to:
THIS IS MY FAVORITE OF THE SERIES AND EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT.
Yeah, that's short and sweet but not helpful. I always delay in putting ink to paper on my reviews. I often read others for inspiration. These two reviews say everything I want to say ---

But I need to give you my words. Here's what I think all three of us can agree on - Relatability. Not that I require it and know that fiction is my escape. The character of Raven was someone I would know, in a situation that is all too relevant in today's dating scene. The suspense element may be elevated in the intent of the villain but based on the facts of books 1-2, real evil lurks and adds to the believability of the story.
It's like Melanie Moreland went into my brain, measured all the dopamine levels of books 1-3, and decided to write a story that is just one long perfect dopamine high for everything I loved in the previous books - without story redundancy. It is just that perfect.
Now, dear bookworm friends, I know it's book 4. You didn't read 1-3 for whatever reason. However, the storytelling sets it apart to be an entry point into the world of Hidden Justice or as a single standalone.
Once again Melanie Moreland brings her A-Game to the world of romance storytelling with suspense, humor, and the perfect Happily Ever After for them.
Now, BRING ON THE SPECIALIST!

Wow! Boy, did I fall in love with Damien!! He is a new favorite BBF <3 Alpha and super protective without being a jerk.. *Swoon*
“I want to rage and burn down the city to find whatever it is that is putting her in that situation. I can’t stand the thought of her upset or hurt. Of being alone and vulnerable. It makes me crazy.”
I have loved all the stories in the Hidden Justice world, but The Watcher has moved to the top for me.
Raven is a great heroine. She is no wimp, strong and smart enough to know when she does need help.
You are perfect.”
“I’m hardly perfect,” she scoffed.
“Well, for me, then. You’re perfect for me.”
The Watcher is an exciting and very suspenseful story but also a sweet and swoony romance with plenty of touches of humor. Damien is definitely “my cup of tea” ;)
“Our love defines us. However it started, what we have is us. It’s all I want.”
I grabbed this audiobook for a reread and loved listening! The narration was great. Maxine Mitchell and John Lane brought the story to life for me and made the story feel fresh and new!

Once again, Melanie writes us a hero we can all love! This book is hard to put down! It’s mysterious and riveting, yet has the most amazing love story. Damien is your typical Alpha - protective, kind, loving - and when Raven literally falls into his arms? It’s game over for the both of them. But can Damien protect her from what dangers lie ahead? Loved it and I love this series!!

I love the Men of Hidden Justice with their possessive, protective, and Alfa personalities! The fact that they are handsome and love deep and hard just makes them even more perfect!
Ravenna Jade Bailey and Damien DeSalvo have a meet cute that is anything but cute and everything that is terrifying! She runs to him for safety from a stalker who won't take no for an answer. The spark these two feel when they meet and kiss quickly fans into a flame that burns steady and grows into an inferno! While protecting his Raven, Damien knows he has found "The One" like his predecessors have done. It was so good to see Matteo, Marcus, and Julian. All hands are on deck to help Raven and Damien deal with this crazed and obsessed man!
They do eventually get their HEA but not before their relationship is seriously tested and Raven goes through a horrible ordeal. This may be my favorite of this series so far!

Moreland takes the long route to romance. A haunting dance with the devil. From the unpredictable suspense that steals your breath, to the depth of connection that captures your heart. A can't put down read.

The men of hidden justice fall hard and fast for their women. It was no different for Damien and Raven
One look and Damien was a goner. He knew in that moment that he would protect her always.
This book comes with heat, mystery, a stalker and our past favorite HJ men come back to tease us.
I loved this book. I expected to, so it comes as no surprise but I want to read it again and see what I missed the first time.
I know more books will be out in this series and I can’t wait. There are always happily ever afters but sometime the path to them is a bit dark.

Damien was literally the right person for Raven to run too. Just like Matteo, Marcus & Julien did for Evie, Missy & Tally he fell fast for Raven. She had a stalker and he was the right person to help her out with his connections from not only the Hidden Justice group, but from Matteo, Marcus & Julien from before they retired. They are family and family looks out for each other even when they aren’t related by blood.

Take all my stars. The more I read Melanie Moreland, the more she makes me fall in love with her words. This series just gets better and better with each new character the authors introduces. The male main characters always win me over with all their swooniness and alpha-ness. The protective nature of Damien, him being know as the watcher, just downright floored me. He is everything you could want in a man and then some. Raven has so much strength in her and I loved her ability to overcome what life threw at her. She is sweet and I adored how she brought the perfect balance of her softness to Damien’s hardness. Lightning has struck me again with this delicious and unputdownable book. Damien and Raven’s story is an all-consuming read that had me wholly invested and captivated. A must read!
Audiobook review:
I’ve got chills and I can’t deny it. John Lane and Maxine Mitchell, the ultimate narrating duo have done it again. This pair can do no wrong as they bring Damien and Raven to life with their superb performance. Their inflection and cadence as always was on point as they brought this unputdownable story to new heights making it an unstoppable audiobook. I adored every audiobook in this series as I had the pleasure of listening to all of them narrated by John and Maxine, but somehow this one has quickly and easily become my fave in the series. Damien is the ultimate protector know as the watcher in his world and Raven has such strength in her character. I absolutely adored them. This romantic suspense is a must listen to. I can’t rave enough about it! If I could give this book more than 5 stars I definitely would because it deserves it all. Melanie Moreland pens an all-consuming books and chosen the perfect narrating duo who I can listen all day, every day. Perfection wrapped up in a hands free package!

Lightning strikes again
Melanie Moreland has another wonderful story of suspense and instalove in The Watcher, her newest addition to the Men of Hidden Justice series. Although this installment in the series is not nearly as Canadian Gray as The Boss, it still exudes elements of intensity, control, and power. And readers can sink into the steam and seduction Moreland does so well.
Built on a solid premise and theme in the romantic suspense genre, Moreland blends great pacing with solid character development to bring readers into Damien and Raven’s hearts and minds as they build their relationship in the face of danger. The twists and turns are all there, along with some interesting breadcrumbs, but that final twist- Wow!
Beyond the levels of intrigue and uncertainty in their lives, watching Damien and Raven go from instant attraction to true love, and a beautiful HEA, is a journey worth taking. Melanie Moreland has another wonderful story of suspense and instalove in The Watcher, her newest addition to the Men of Hidden Justice series. Although this installment in the series is not nearly as Canadian Gray as The Boss, it still exudes elements of intensity, control, and power. And readers can sink into the steam and seduction Moreland does so well.
Built on a solid premise and theme in the romantic suspense genre, Moreland blends great pacing with solid character development to bring readers into Damien and Raven’s hearts and minds as they build their relationship in the face of danger. The twists and turns are all there, along with some interesting breadcrumbs, but that final twist- Wow!
Beyond the levels of intrigue and uncertainty in their lives, watching Damien and Raven go from instant attraction to true love, and a beautiful HEA, is a journey worth taking. Yet another brilliant book by Melanie everyone that I read I think they can't get any better but they do. Love the men of Hidden Justice and when they fall in love they fall hard, Raven and Damien were always going to be a couple with a few twists and turns on the way. I love how every couple end up on the island and make their own community together.

The Watcher may just be my favorite Men of Hidden Justice novel. I love how Damien and Raven meet and the intriguing way their story develops kept me on the edge of my seat. Melanie Moreland weaves a story that I just couldn’t put down. I finished the story in mere hours and was left wanting more. Past characters make appearances and provide insight into their lives on the island as well as assist in saving the day once again.

Where do I start? The Watcher was a wonderful addition to the Men of Hidden Justice series. It was suspenseful, romantic, passionate, emotional, intense and I was riveted from the first to the last chapter.Well written with characters whose story you cannot help but quickly become invested in, they were engaging and entertaining.

Wow! She definitely knows how to write. I love the Men of Hidden Justice and this one, book 4, isn’t the exception at all. Damien it’s indeed the best one to protect Raven. That first kiss was totally AMAZING. It’s nice to see “the Lightning has struck” again as Julian would say. All the emotions in this book are strong, the twist and turns kept me on the edge and desperate for more and more. Raven is so perfect and she knows Damien would to anything for her, anything. The trust and love between them is refreshing. Damien as the Watcher knows everything she might need and is always there to please her. I finished this book too fast now I’m hangover. Melanie’s books are additives and always in my favorites.
Update: I savored this audiobook, it is perfection. John and Maxine are amazing. They know how to bring to life this characters. Amazing performance.

Raven and Damien. Damien aka the watcher starts off pretty quickly with the meet cute with Raven and it escalates from there. Lots of twists and turns within the story. The book reminded me of a twisted version of the movie The Saint but he really is a bad guy. Enjoy!!!

This book is a sumptuous buffet of rich emotion, tantalizing drama, steamy heat, shiver inducing suspense, mega feels and super swoon. One thing is for sure, Damien and Raven are going to have your pulse pounding as you try to catch your breath. These two make an incredibly sweet, fun, hot and cute couple that manages to steal your heart before you even have the time to blink! I simply adored them!! This gripping (and kind of frightening) story gets off to an intense start that grabs your attention quickly and then the author lets the suspense and tension simmer and build until your nerves are stretched to the breaking point and you just cannot put this book down. I stayed up way too late to finish it and I REGRET NOTHING!! Lol This is my unbiased, unsolicited review.

I can’t get enough of the Men of Hidden Justice, and Damien DeSalvo is up there with the best of them. When Raven Bailey runs into Damien’s local bar for refuge, I don’t think anyone could foresee the way their life would play out. Lucky for her that Damien was the one to come to her rescue. Although it was touch and go as to whether even he could bring down ‘Andy Smith’, a stalker that, for all intents and purposes, does not exist. Lucky for Raven that Damien has connections, and he’s willing to do anything to keep her safe. If anyone can save Raven it’s definitely Damien. An emotional, tense, yet sexy romance full of suspense and drama. Fantastic characters, a wonderful story and together Raven and Damien are just perfect for each other. Highly entertaining and addictive, I loved it.

The men of Hidden Justice fall hard and fast. Damien is no different. He is the observant one. Nothing gets by him. He can read people and know there are problems before anyone is even aware. So when a beautiful woman approaches him in a bar and says "play along, please" his senses are on high alert. Raven is everything Damien didn't know he needed. She is sweet, independent, and strong. Her past makes her leary of new people and trust comes slowly. But not with Damien. She feels secure and safe immediately with him. And considering how she enters his life, that's saying everything.
Damien is intense especially when it comes to Raven. He protects what is his and the situation with Raven is frustrating him. Raven is being stalked by a man she met online but finding anything about him is impossible. It's like he doesn't exist. And being the computer genius, Damion can't seem to solve this puzzle. But he watches and protects and falls for the woman he can't live without.
Raven is everything I wanted in a heroine and more. She is sweet. She works with kids. She is cautious and hyper aware of her surroundings. Her sixth sense let's her know when something isn't right. And she listens to it as much as she can. Uncomfortable situations are avoided or shortened. And most of all, she has a sense of humor that helps her deal with everything. Have you met any of the leading men in the aptly named ‘Men of Hidden Justice’ series by Melanie Moreland? Lead characters from the first three books in the series make appearances in parts of this romantic suspense story, but you needn’t have read those before you can enjoy “The Watcher”. Damien is part of Hidden Justice and operates Elite Security. He’s Ithe man behind the scenes, watching and making things happen. He excels at using computers and technology in every conceivable way. Few things in life taken by surprise anymore, but when a beautiful young woman rushes into the pub where he’s relaxing one night and throws herself into his arms seeking help, it’s certainly not something he expected. Raven is a schoolteacher whose bad luck with men is at an all-time low; she has a stalker. Although there is instant attraction and powerful chemistry between Damien and Raven, her mysterious stalker is much more than an annoyance … he could be a deadly complication. The main characters have powerful personal chemistry that flares to life from their very first meeting and continues to light up the whole story. Damian and Raven are both likable characters, with feelings that absolutely believable given their respective situations. He manages to be strong, steady, and in control without being controlling in a negative way at all. Raven is caught up in a situation that’s becoming increasingly terrifying She needs help, but she’s not helpless.
I thought the dialogue was well-written and added to the depth of the characters, while it simultaneously pulled me more and more deeply into the book. Secondary characters in this story are interesting and varied, and add humor, drama, and realism at different points. The author set the stage for the next book in this series, and I’m really looking forward to it!

This book is the 4th book of the Hidden Justice series, I was hopping for Damien's book (as much as I am hopping we have Egan's book as well) and luckily Melanie wrote his book.
I loved Damien, how protective he is, sexy fun and he is perfect for Raven.
I liked the way they meet, she couldn't have found a better person to protect her.

The Watcher is the fourth in Melanie Moreland’s Men of Hidden Justice series. Damien DeSalvo is a businessman but not just a businessman. He actually is now the head of Elite Security, the public facing part of Hidden Justice. When Raven Bailey ducks into the pub he’s at to seek help, he is happy to step up, and the two are pleasantly surprised by their immediate connection.
Melanie Moreland’s story is well paced and is an excellent balance between the blooming relationship between the delightful Raven and protective Damien and the hovering threat to her safety that seems to follow too closely for comfort.
While The Watcher is part of a series, it stands alone well, and the action and characters easily captivate. A great read, and I’m eager for more in the series.

This is book 4 in the Hidden Justice series and this may be my favorite one yet! This book grabs you right from the very start and never lets up! This is an insta-chemistry trope with a protective hero. I loved Damien and Raven’s story so much! Don’t miss this one!

Fast paced edge of your seat suspense from Ms Moreland once again, with the men and women in the world of Elite Security and Hidden Justice.
Damien has spent his career using his skills within computers to protect and watch over his colleagues as they risk their lives to save victims of trauma and crime.
Contented with the single life, Damien couldn’t ever see himself settled down, not like his former colleagues who have all found love and retired.
Raven is a beautiful hearted, gentle soul. New in the city, she is ready to make some new friends and find a companion….but what she actually gets herself is a stalker…. Worried for her safety she rushes into a bar and inadvertently right into Damien’s arms….how very fortunate for this damsel in distress!
What follows is an action packed game of cat and mouse as Damien and his team desperately try to track down Raven’s stalker and keep everyone safe….but have they finally met their match?
Oh and at the same time he finds himself slowly falling under lovely Raven’s spell!
With instant chemistry this pair have an endearing connection and Ms Moreland once again brings us a couple with great humour, honesty and it becomes clear very quickly that all Damien needed was to meet the right woman, as he is certainly cut out for the relationship game!
