Beauty is perfection, but beauty isn’t everything.
Drew McAlister was the only boy to ever see her instead of just her perfect, symmetrical face. He was her first love, her only love, but it was all a lie. Tess Bakker didn’t care about his money or his damaged face. She gave her beautiful heart and body to him years ago and in a flash of young stupidity, he hurt her. She would never forgive him.
When Tess and Drew inherit the rustic seaside resort they both love, they must spend a year together on the tiny island off Washington’s northwest coast in order to protect it. They’re adults now. They’ll get through the year keeping their distance. Easy.
But when everything they love is threatened, they’ll have to face the lies and the truths of the past, risking their whole hearts, or lose their one shot at forever with the only real love either of them has ever known. You know her big brothers, Finn and Lucas, and their Perry Harbor friends. Now meet Tess Bakker and the man who owns her heart.
This is Tess' story - Finn and Lucas's sister in another book within the "Perry Harbour" series.
This is a second chance small-town story. 6 years ago, during the summer break, she met Drew and fell in love with him. He felt the same about her, but a conversation with his brother led to Tess feeling used and hurt beyond everything.
After those 6 years they both inherited a resort, that they both hold dear and decided to live with each other for a year. Less than that 1 year they found a second chance for their love.
The story was going really quickly for me. There wasn't a lot of drama between them and they easily fell back in love. I do love my drama within the books I am reading, but sometimes I also prefer less drama. Which was the case here.
We have some beautiful scenes with Tess and Drew and everyone reading the book can feel how much they love each other and their strong connection.
Christina Braver didn't leave us hanging within the hot scenes department. Oh, we definitely have plenty of those in the book. And I loved them all ♥️.
Overall I really liked Tess and Drew story and I can't wait for the next book within the "Perry Harbour" series.
I received ARC from Grey's Promo. All opinions are my own and this is my voluntary review.
Drew and Tess are the epitome of true love finding its way back.
Drew and Tess meet when they are in their late teens during the summer before they go to college they form a friendship that turns sour because boys are idiots. Although their relationship ends they both never stop loving each other.
These two had me banging my head against a wall with all the assumptions they made about why they weren't meant to be. They are both really well written characters that one just can't help but root for.
Thank you Grey’s Promotions for sending me an e-arc of this book! Just a disclaimer that I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
- 4/5 ⭐️ - NA/A - 3rd book from a series of standalones - first person POV (dual perspectives) - small town romance - second chance romance - forced proximity
Overview:
6 years ago, Tess and Drew were having the summer of their lives, until something happened that led Tess to disappear from Drew’s life, never to be heard from again. But when the people from Perry Harbour gather to say goodbye to Mrs. Curtis, the owner of a local resort, at her funeral, Drew and Tess’ lives intertwine again, but this time they’re supposed to renovate and fix the resort Mrs. Curtis left behind for them. With secrets being unfolded and the more time they spent together, they realized the summer they enjoyed together 6 years ago was only the beginning of their happily ever after.
Review:
This book has everything I love in a book, small-town romance, second chance, and a badass FMC.
This book really centres around how boys view Tess, her being a beautiful woman and constantly being harassed by men was so sickening and sad to read about because ew, the audacity of men, but she always keeps her chin up high and I salute her for that.
The 6 years Drew and Tess spent apart could’ve been avoided if Tess heard Drew’s side of the story so this was all because of a miscommunication and misunderstanding but I’m glad they figured it out again in the end.
Drew is so obsessed with Tess it’s so annoyingly cute but same Drew… same.
Tess’ relationship with her brothers and parents is so mwah… chef’s kiss. Their family dynamic is what I crave for, it’s so cute, wholesome, and very well-written.
I haven’t read the first two books from the series but the two couples from those books are always in appearance in this book and that makes me want to read it so badly— I just know how adorable and good those books are already.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Definitely would recommend it if you’re a sucker for small-town and second-chance romances.
Drew and Tess shared a wonderful summer together but a miscommunication ruined it all. Thank goodness for Mrs. Curtis and her scheme to bring them back together.
I really enjoyed this book. Even though it is technically part of a series, it is written as a standalone and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything not having read the other two.
I loved Tess in this book. She is described as being drop dead gorgeous but I enjoyed learning her story and that being beautiful may not be all it’s cracked up to be. It also made Drew even more swoon worthy that he saw Tess for who she really was, not just what was on the outside.
The book definitely had its share of steamy scenes. I’m not typically one to go for an overly spicy book so you can take my thoughts with a grain of salt, but some of the steamy parts just didn’t seem to work for me. There were a few parts that didn’t seem to flow well with the story and a couple lines that made me cringe. Nothing that ruined the story for me by any means they just didn’t seem to work and I didn’t find them to be necessary.
Overall this one was enjoyable for me and I probably will pick up the first two books at some point as I am interested in hearing the story of Tess’s brothers.
Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own and are given by my own choice.
While I did enjoy this book the reason for the star taken off was the constant need to talk about the MC looks. We get it she is extremely attractive lol why does it need to be mentioned like every page (exaggerating lol)
I did enjoy both of their stories and glad that Drew's dad helped him stick it to someone. He wasn't the type of parts who are rich and snobby. I was hooked from the beginning with how both Drew and Tess got stuck in a tricky situation.
I realized this is a series so curious about the others. I would like to read more about the tulip farm!!!
Thank you Greys Promotion for allowing me to read this.
This second chance romance is one that hits all the right spots. Miscommunication happens so often, and because of that good things are often broken or damaged. Unfortunately for Drew and Tess, they find themselves in that boat. A wonderful summer together soon ends from miscommunication. Thank God Mrs. Curtis has a plan to bring these two love birds back together. This book has just the right amount of steam, the perfect amount of emotion, and will wrap the reader in a big, inviting hug. Don't miss out on this sweet second chance story.
In the mood for a second chance romance where they are forced together again by the passing of someone that played a huge part in both their lives? The refurbishing of an island resort, a strong and independent FMC, a little voyuerism, and a cat named buster - if so this book is for you!
I loved the chemistry between Tess and Drew, even with the time that has passed you could tell it was only a matter of time before they rekindled what they had.
The side characters really stood out in this story, I loved the ease of those relationships.
This was a quick and easy read that had me smiling! Highly recommend reading the bonus scene.
thank you to greys promo and christina braver for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
i really really liked this one! the writing flowed well and even though it was book #3 in an interconnected standalone series, i didn’t feel like i was missing any plot points because i haven’t read the first two. you could feel the authenticity between tess and drew, and the second chance trope was done right! however, i thought their relationship in the present was a tad rushed and i would’ve liked to see a *little* more drama before reaching the HEA. drawing it out can make the relationship and connection feel a bit stronger in the reader’s eyes.
if you want a cute small town second chance romance with resort on a lake vibes, this is for you!
I had never read a Christina Braver book before I was sent this ARC. So, since this was book 3 i went back and read the other two. I’m so glad that I did. Make sure you do the same. 😉
I love this family and their chosen family as well. The location descriptions of the Pacific Northwest are lovely and were a refreshing new backdrop for beautiful love stories.
Drew and Tess. Oh, Drew and Tess. Teenage love. Teenage heartbreak.
Now, six years later they are unexpectedly thrown together to save a place full of beautiful scenery, love and memories- both good and bad.
This book offers a somewhat different take on beauty. How we see ourselves and how we think others see us. And ultimately how the people that REALLY see us - see us for so much more.
I’m so glad I received this copy and it led me to this series. I’m so excited for the ones to come. 💗💗

Loved Tess and Drew's story. Beautifully written and heartfelt. Their journey wasn't an easy one but was so worth it. Highly recommend.
Thank you to Greys Promotions for this arc ! This was a small town, second chance, forced proximity romance. This book was so sweet and had great communication skills.
Drew & Tess met one summer when they were younger, and fell in love until something drove them apart. It's been six years since that moment, and neither got over the other despite all the hurt, however, fate stepped in when a woman left them the resort they loved so much but first, they had to spend a year together at said resort they love so much. It could be either great or not so great, but at least they would face that past & maybe just maybe move on from it. These two are so perfect for each other, and yet, the push & pull had me ready to not only pull my hair out, but bang my head against the wall since I couldn't physically shake them LOL! There's a lot of emotion in these pages, but there's also a ton of heat since the sparks never stop flying, and I thought my kindle would go up in flames. I really enjoyed Your Heart, and I believe you will too so you know what to do! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Drew and Tess came back together when someone close to them passes away. Drew's life is in California, but he agrees to stay one year in order to get the Inn left to them back up to standards after repairs. What these two do no expect is realizing that the past six years of not being in each others life is due to a complete misunderstanding. Their love for one another never diminished.
This was a really cute story and I loved how they actually worked on their relationship and became friends again before they worked at a romantic relationship. Drew and Tess were meant to be together and were lucky enough to have one another as teenagers. I believe that going their separate ways for a few years was a good thing, because it helped both of them to grow into the people they were in the story and helped mature them for what was between them. Just make sure you have a box of tissues ready, you may need it. It is worth the read.

Your Heart is a mesmerising second chance, small-town story, with all the heat and all the emotion that wraps around you in its tight grip. Drew and Tess spent a summer together on Anna Island, and the small resort worked its magic, one misunderstanding and the young lovers bitterly parted ways, now 6 years later, they are back not only in Perry Harbor but the Island that sits a ferry ride away, with the death of the own Mrs Curtis a surprise for both of them is about to be known.
Tess has a beautiful face, one that has caused her more pain than happiness throughout her life, boys hitting on her, girls scared of her, the only one who she ever felt safe with was Drew, but Drew had his own teenage issues to deal with, now with both being thrashed back together it could just be they can find their way back to each other, and maybe from up above Mrs Curtis will have a broad smile on her face.
Drew and Tess are the epitome of destined lovers making sure they make their way back to each other. Second chance is usually one of my lesser favorited tropes but this book was really well done. One summer changed their lives, falling head over heels in love in a whirlwind and then being separated unexpectedly. 6 years pass and a familiar face shows up to pay the respects at a local residents funeral. Thrown immediately back into pining for each other and into a divine setup by the deceased herself, Drew and Tess are quickly on their way to realizing the summer they had together wasn't the anomaly they thought it was and that their feelings for each other never subsided. Don't let the cover of the book fool you, the steam of this book will take you by surprise as well. 4/5 stars
Your Heart is a sweet, second chance romance. You might remember some of the characters from the other stories in the Perry Harbor series but you can enjoy this story on its own as well.
This is a young love gone wrong, second chance story and it's as sweet as a summer at the beach with very little drama. Forced back together when they inherit the beach resort they both love, they quickly realize the mistakes they made in the past and how much they still love each other. This is a great beach read, just remember to wear sunscreen because once you start reading, you'll read straight through.
This is the third book in this series, and this is Drew and Tess’s journey. Drew is wealthy and smart, and Tess is confident and beautiful, and he was her first love until he broke her heart. Now they have both inherited a rustic seaside resort that they both love, but they will need to spend a year together. This is a well written story which has emotions, lies, truths, challenges, 2nd chances, misunderstandings, and love, which leads to a spicy, entertaining, and small-town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is Drew and Tess journey and and I must say it was super sweet story. I loved that these two had a past. It sucks that all the time they lost was due to a misunderstanding but loved that they work it out. The time they spend together fixing the Inn helps rebuild their relationship. I absolutely love that the first relationship they work on is their friendship before anything else. I loved their journey and highly recommend this story.
I am a sucker of small town romance and if it's a steamy one then it's double treat. Your Heart by Christina Braver is a beautiful steamy small town romance which will steal your heart.
I would like to rate it Five star and Recommend it to all readers.
What a great story! I loved Tess and Drew! They both knew what it was like to be judged for their looks, but saw the true beauty in each other. Tess was a confident, beautiful woman. Drew was rich and smart, with scars inside and outside. He didn't think he was good enough for Tess, but was enjoying the time they did have together. Will Tess be able to convince Drew that he is all she's ever wanted, or will she worry he will leave and go back to his life in California, without giving them a chance? Christina Braver is a new author to me and I look forward to reading more from her.
This is a fun second chance romance. Tess and Drew have history and aren’t excited about being forced to work together. They have different views on what should happen but ultimately decide to give it a go. They have to work through so many past misunderstandings and a lot bumps along the way. It was a fun journey to watch them go from there to getting their HEA. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand-a-lone.
Another great addition to the series. I’m glad Drew got the girl. He got a bad rep for what happened in the past and I understood why Tess was angry. It was nice that they got their second chance.
