From childhood best friends to high school sweethearts…to a relationship so broken it seems impossible to fix…

I’ve loved Sofie Copewell for as long as I can remember.
She was all I ever wanted.
We said someday we’d have a family together and raise them on our ranch in Landmark Mountain.
She was my home. My forever.
I spent my whole life chasing her, hanging on her every word, and lighting up when she smiled at me.
And I never had a single doubt that she felt the same way.
Until she left and didn’t come back…
For eight years.
Now she’s returned, and I’m resentful and want answers.
Answers to why she left without a goodbye, taking all our dreams with her.
But as angry as I am and as much as I fight it, the electricity between us is still as strong as it was before.
And when I get the answers I’m looking for, I realize that she never stopped loving me either.
I want to believe our someday is now, but can I trust her not to leave again?

Someday is book two in the Landmark Mountain series, but each book can be read as a standalone.
The content warnings for Someday are the discussion of child and domestic abuse, and the death of a parent.

DOUBLE STANDARDS
UNSAFE
1 star in my heart but I couldnt stand to finish it to give it a proper rate. I had better things to do, like watch my cat being cute for 2 hours straight

- She of course loved him so much she was unable to properly try to move on. He on the other hand had no trouble sleeping around to try and forget her (of course it is not because he can't keep his dick in his pants)

- She had never been with anyone else. She doesn't know if or even she will be back, she told him not to wait for her, she knew she had to let him go but she spent 8 years alone suffering. While he suffered so much trying to get over her fucking others.

How the author wants us to believe he loves her as much as she loved him when she was unable to date but he because of a note distrusted 18 years of love and never even searched her? She had to do everything, leave to protect him after a huge trauma, come back after otherwise he would never have look for her and even after telling him everything reassure him of how much she wants him.

Quotes
-After Sofie left, it was a couple of years before I was with someone else, and then it was like I went the opposite direction. I became someone I never thought I’d be, mindlessly fucking my way into forgetting her. It didn’t work. I couldn’t forget her. No matter how hard I tried. And I didn’t like how empty it made me feel. Still don’t. The last time I had sex was maybe four months ago. I was in Denver for a conference, had a few drinks at the bar at the end of the four-day conference, and slept with a woman named Christy. We’d met on day one and she was nice, cute…interested. After a few drinks on that last night, she asked me to her room and I went, not looking to forget Sofie so much anymore as an attempt to relieve the never-ending restlessness I’ve had since she went away.

- “I’m on the pill,” I whisper. “And there’s only ever been you.” His eyes fly open and for a second, he looks tormented, as he swallows hard. “Sofie,” he chokes out. I shake my head. “It’s okay, Theo.” I don’t want to think about who else he’s been with, but I know by his look that there have been others. And it’s okay. I ripped his heart to shreds and didn’t think I could ever return. “I haven’t done it without one…except with you,” he says. He leans his forehead against mine. “I’m so sorry,” he whispers. I make sure he’s looking into my eyes when I say my next words. “I never expected you to wait for me. I knew I had to let you go, and I tried. I really tried.” His jaw clenches and he sinks slowly into me, both of us losing our breath for a second as he does. I’m so ready for him, but there’s still resistance. It’s been so long and he’s huge, but already, it feels so good. “I tried to let you go too,” he whispers. “It was impossible.”

This contained one of my least favorite tropes in second chance romances: a hero who slept around a lot and a celibate heroine who wasn't interested in going on a single date with someone else during their 8 year separation.

I was happy to return to Willow Aster’s ‘Landmark’ world. Theo Landmark is the second youngest of five and the youngest boy. His first love, Sofie, is back in town. She left abruptly when they were teens and it’s been 7-8 years since he’s seen her.

I wondered what could have happened that made Sofie leave and if it would be a good reason. When I found out, I was heartbroken for both Theo and Sofie. This book hits you in the feels. It got me so emotional. But it was also sweet and romantic. I enjoyed it just as much as the first and I’m looking forward to reading more of the Landmark siblings books.

5 beautiful second-chance stars!

Oh my heart, this is the most beautiful, swoony and emotional second-chance-romance! I was blissfully sucked into Theo and Sofie’s book, and I absolutely loved their heartwrenching story.

Note - This is the second book in the Landmark Mountain series, featuring Theo and his siblings, but it can easily be read as a standalone.

Theo and Sofie grew up together and were the best of friends. Their childhood friendship became teenaged sweethearts and they fell in mad, wild, all-consuming love. They were each other’s whole worlds, planning a life together with marriage and kids, knowing that they’d be together forever. And then suddenly it was over. Sofie left town, leaving just a note behind, and there’s been no word from her since. Now, eight years later, the death of her father has brought her back to Landmark and back into Theo’s orbit.

The feels are intense from the very beginning. Sofie is happy to finally be back in Landmark, but she’s wrestling some huge demons. She knows that Theo won’t be happy to see her, but she’s desperate to reconnect with him and make amends for leaving him the way that she did. Theo’s world fell apart when Sofie left, and it rocks him to his core when she suddenly reappears. He’s angry and hurt, and sad at all that they’ve lost, but he can’t avoid her forever in such a small town, and he needs answers.

I cannot put into words, the emotion I felt watching Theo and Sofie come back together. First, there’s the epic anticipation that comes with the longing stares and blatant heartache every time they are together, wondering what tore them apart, then excitedly watching them confront each other with all of the heartache, anger and confusion that they’re feeling. The emotion is intense, every interaction between them is intense, but there’s also an easiness to it. They know each other so well, they are soulmates, and the closeness that was always between them is still there, as is the love for each other, and I loved seeing glimpses of the connection that they still so clearly share.

When Sofie’s secrets are revealed, my heart ached for her, and my heart ached for Theo as they finally talked about it and dealt with it all. It opens the way for Sofie to pour her heart out, and that’s when the feelings really start to come!

“My love for you was everything,” I tell him. “It kept me moving forward, kept me from falling apart…” I clear my throat and lift my shoulders, gaining a little bit of courage. “My love for you is what made me think I could make Landmark my home again.”

The romance in this book is beautiful. There’s so much emotion, so much intensity, it’s swoony and heartfelt and honest, and I was completely swept up in it all.

“You love me?”
“You really think I ever stopped?”

Neither Theo nor Sofie have been able to move on from each other. They are soulmates in every way, and I loved watching them fall back together so easily and so completely. But there is still that element of fear there as they rebuild trust, Theo wants it so badly, and Sofie is once again all in as she works for his heart. It’s a beautifully honest journey.

“I know I haven’t given you a reason to trust me in a long time,” she whispers, “but I promise I won’t give you a reason to regret letting me back in…if you decide you can.”

And oh holy damn, they are so freaking hot together! Insatiable, and only all too eager to make up for lost time, this book is as spicy as it is heartfelt, and it’s all win for romance junkies like me.

“We’re the exception, Firefly,” he said, pulling me closer to him again. “We’re this good because it’s true. And it’s easy and wonderful because the feelings between us have already lasted forever and they always will.”

Along with the romance is a wonderful character romance. Sofie, in particular, has a difficult road ahead of her, but she dives into her past, desperate to deal with it once and for all, and the courage she shows in sharing her secrets and working to move past it and build a better life is so gorgeous to see. Theo is right there with her through all of it – sharing her pain, supporting and encouraging her, and loving her through it all, and I just adored them both. We get to see a lot of Theo’s family, which I loved, the inhabitants of Landmark are fantastic as they eagerly welcome Sofie home and support the young couple, And we’re introduced to the heroine of the next book, which will be Wyatt’s story, and is sure to be a good one!

I devoured this book, completely caught up in the characters and their story, and unable to put it down. There is drama, but very little angst, and I loved watching Theo and Sofie get the happy ending they so desperately deserved.

Absolutely beautiful – 5 stars!

What a load of crap. I clearly I’m not a fan of authors who hate their heroines. 🤮 yes it’s fictional…which is the point…why give this banana of a heroine so much drama.

Not Entirely Sold on Theo

While overall the story had some strong poignant moments, the romance was a bit lost on me especially when it came to Theo. I understand that circumstances and withheld significant information prevented Theo from making informed decisions during the eight-year separation, still it felt as if there was an imbalance in love between him and Sofie.

*Light Spoilers Ahead*

Even after Sofie’s revelation of the sacrifices she’s made for Theo’s safety, he still held Sofie’s “betrayal” over her head for longer than he should have. I mean heck, he even said himself that he should have moved heaven and earth in finding her but he didn’t. Choosing instead to believe the “betrayal” and moving on with several women for that matter whilst our heroine stayed celibate. Personally, while it is in his freedom to do whatever he wanted during their separation, his choice in using other women to try and move on from Sofie cheapened the so-called “never ending love” he had for her. I mean with one little note he was utterly convinced that the 18 years of love and affection they shared was a complete lie. He shouldn’t have been that easy to convince if he loved her and “knew” her since they were kids.

In that sense even after Sofie’s big reveal she still had to keep on reassuring and proving herself to Theo that she wasn’t going to leave him. The woman went through years of physical and verbal abuse and not to mention emotional trauma from witnessing a murder, but sure let’s add on having to soothe a man baby and his bruised ego to her to-do list. Because that’s what Theo turned out to be, a large baby with a hefty ego.

Usually once the hero finds out that the “love of his life” went through rough adversity there’d be a sweeping declaration of unconditional love, acceptance and safety. However, Theo is a unicorn in that he chooses to mind his feelings first knowing full well the extent of his partners sufferings. I guess this is where, as a reader, I’m suppose to feel sympathy for him because he was “abandoned,” but again it’s hard to feel sympathy for someone who not only got their dream career, but also was sexually active in lieu of their “heartbreak.” Boo-freaking-hoo.

Theo Landmark grew up in Landmark Mountain where his ancestors built their small town. He is the youngest brother of five siblings and his family means everything to him. He's a livestock vet who has a great life. The only thing missing is that special someone. He'd met the girl he thought he'd one day marry, but then she broke his heart. They'd been inseparable as kids, and then best friends that became high school sweethearts. When she disappeared eight years ago, he had to learn to survive without her. Now Sofie is back and even more breathtaking than he remembered. Was she back to turn his world upside down again? He never thought he'd see her again, but maybe he can finally get the answers he's been looking for all these years.

Sofie Copewell returns home to the Colorado horse ranch she grew up on after she inherits the property. She paid the ultimate price when she left, and the past has defined her life for years. She's ready to move on, and get her life back. That includes the boy she's never stopped loving. Theo is practically a stranger now, but she's there to stay, and wants another chance. Will she choose to hang on to her secrets, or fight for love?

Someday by Willow Aster is the second book in the Landmark Mountain series, and can be read as a standalone. It's a small town, first loves, friends to lovers romance about family, friendship, forgiveness and second chances. I couldn't get enough of this couple and this world. I loved this whole family, and can't wait for more in this fabulous series! <333

💞If you like second chance romance, this is the perfect recommendation.💞

I recently discovered the Willow Aster books, and I'm obsessed. I have no words to describe how much I enjoyed this book.

The story is so well written that it grips you, and you don't even notice the time pass. I finished the book in a few hours.

I quite liked the main couple, "it's always been you" is one of my favorite tropes. Furthermore, I liked how the story developed until Theo found out why Sofie left years ago, and I confess that I cried a little when everything was revealed.

Please, just read this book.

Book two in a series I’m absolutely loving and somehow the author cranked up the heat AND the emotions and made it work so beautifully. This is a second chance/childhood friends to lovers with sooo many feelings and I swooned so hard over Sofie and Theo. These two have an undeniable, lifelong connection and their break up hurt them both so terribly you get so much angst that really pulled on my heartstrings. Sofie’s history was heartbreaking and the way her and Theo navigated their feelings to fight for their future was so sweet 🥹 I’m obsessed with this series, this town, the characters and the author I need the rest of the books asap they’re SO good.

Tropes:

- small town

- second chance

- childhood best friends to lovers, to high school sweethearts…to second chance? (I think that’s the best way to describe it)

Very cute continuation to this interconnected standalone series!

It had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning, craving answers to the reasoning of everything that went down. They’ve been massively in love with one another ever since they can remember, from childhood best friends, to high school sweethearts, they’ve been attached at the hip their whole lives…

But then she left with no answer as to why, never to return…until eight whole years later…

He’s angry at her, so damn resentful, when all she wants is the man she still loves to at least give her a chance to explain herself…

So much angst! So many unanswered questions throughout their separation, and I kept turning and turning those pages for answers…and when we got them, damn did it hurt!

Theo and Sofie definitely held my attention, and I craved that happy ending for them both!!

And as much as I loved their story, there were some parts that held me back from giving it a full 5 stars…

• Biggest one was probably that he wasn’t celibate AT ALL, in there separation, sleeping around with God knows how land women *cue me cringing* …now this is where some of you are rolling your eyes, saying “inessa…of course the man had sex with a ton of women in the 8 year separation, especially when Sofie left so abruptly…”

But that’s not the biggest problem I had, It’s the fact that Sofie didn’t sleep, nor do ANYTHING with any man in that span of time…(I don’t even think she went on a single date)

I hate this trope…the one where the men is allowed to sleep around in the time their apart, but the girl, oh me oh my, she hasn’t even looked at a man! Because she loves him so much. But don’t worry! He loves her too! Trust me he said so himself , no matter how many women he slept with he never forgot her😃 like really? The vibes aren’t vibing for me.

Other then that…I loved the book, I did find myself skimming trying to find answers since it took so long to get them, but either way this was a great continuation, and I’m itching for Wyatt and Marlow’s story🫢

What a swoonfest! I love a second chance romance, and this one was beautifully emotional and so, so romantic. I have a real soft spot for second chance romance stories, especially when it comes to childhood sweethearts. I got completely swept up in Sofie and Theo’s love story and was in romantic bliss while reading it, reading passages over and over again just to take it all in. I loved every word!

Sofie and Theo were childhood best friends, and they were each others first loves with both thinking it would last forever. Until Sofie abruptly leaves and returns eight years later.

The feels in this book! I could feel everything that transpired between Sofie and Theo. I could feel the confusion, the pain and the anger, but most of all I could feel the love. These are two people who so clearly belong together, and their love for each other was never in doubt. It was a matter of watching them wade through all of the hurt from the past and slowly finding their way forward, and their journey was absolutely beautiful.

A small town romance with a family feel, this book is heart wrenching, engrossing, and compelling. I absolutely love second chance romance stories and the way Willow Aster delved into some tough issues was exquisite. I loved all the different emotions this book captured. It’s a story about friendship, loss, love, family and trying to survive with the hand you’ve been dealt. I can't say enough good things. A total winner.

Someday Arc Review

Grab your tissues because this story will leave your heart full and your tear ducts empty! This story definitely had some heaviness to it. Sofie has been through the wringer multiple times and deeply betrayed by a close loved one. In return, this left her no choice other than to run. To run away from her one and only love, Theo. Eight years later he see’s his red temptress back in Landmark and has no idea how to feel about her sudden and unexplained departure all those years ago and whether or not she is going to do it again? If you know me, you know I LOVE a second chance romance. Something about reading their love past and present does something to my romantic heart. Add in some complex and all too real situations? Absolutely devouring that story and that’s exactly what I did with this. Sofie is so dang strong. Reading about her situation and her flashbacks not only made me so angry for her, but so uncontrollably sad. Theo was and always would be her most stable rock and after some hard conversations, he shows up for his girl. He is the biggest marshmallow. Even with a heavy topic discussed in this story, there was so much brightness from the Landmark family, Sofie’s Aunts & the townspeople. This will definitely put you in your feels but leave you feeling so happy for Sofie and Theo by the end.

“I mean, I do want to fix some of the hurt, but it’s because I love you, not because of—” Her eyes soften at my expression. “What?” “You love me?” “You really think I ever stopped?” 😭

This is my third Willow Aster book and she's quickly become a new favorite author of mine! I love her writing and the way she writes such loveable characters and stories.

Someday is book two in the Landmark Mountain series but can be read as a standalone. Someday is a second chance small town romance and follows Theo and Sofie. They're childhood friends turned lovers and have loved each other as far back as they can remember. 8 years ago Sofie left Landmark without reason and left Theo completely heartbroken. Years later, Sofie returns to Landmark after the death of her father and Theo is not the boy she remembers. He's angry, resentful and doesn't want anything to do with Sofie's return.

Ugh, I love second chance romances with my whole heart and this book was no exception. Theo and Sofie's story was sweet, beautiful and full of all the feels. I love the way these two love each other and how fiercely protective they are of one another. I loved watching them reconnect after years of being apart and them learning to trust in what they have again. My heart broke for both Theo and Sofie and although I feel there could've been a bit more angst into the buildup of them getting back together, it did feel true to what they have. That they wouldn't waste any more time apart if they could be together again.

I'd recommend this book to anyone that loves small town, second chance and big loveable families. I'm so excited for the next book in this series!!

Thank you Willow Aster and Valentine PR for this ARC!

4.5 / 5 💌🤠🌷

ARC kindly gifted by Valentine PR.

I was itching for this book ever since I picked up Unforgettable and it took me by storm, Someday was everything and more, it was perfect. This is what I want in my second chance, always been you, small town romance, I want them, Sofie and Theo. I was hooked from the very beginning and I literally could not put it down.

The entire setting, Landmark Mountain and the family, it's all so cozy and absolutely perfect. Willow Aster is quickly becoming one of my auto-buy authors, especially in terms of this small town romance series. It has depth yet still sizzling with spice and heart-stopping/swoony romance, I mean every time Theo looked after Sofie hit me hard (he's quite literally a cinnamon roll and I love him for it) . Their connection was undeniable.

I literally cannot wait to see Marlow and Wyatt, because the angst and tension they were giving in the back end of the book was next to none, and it's single mom, doctor romance in this perfect, cozy small town. Say no more 💌

As always don't forget to read and check TW.

This read more like porn than a romance story. 🤦🏼‍♀️ When will romance writers understand that fucking/lusting after each other doesn't equal love, trust, commitment, communication etc.
I need to see more of that instead of banging page after page. Also the level of how obsessed Theo is, is downright scary and unhealthy. He should go see a therapist asap.

This small town romance will take your breath away and leave you salivating for more.
Willow Aster does it again, this story gave me all the feelings, one of my favorite books this year, and one of the author's best works to date, I was hooked from start to finish. UNPUTDOWNABLE.

Theo and Sofie are childhood best friends and they have loved each other forever, but when Sofie disappears something snaps inside Theo and it's hard for him to trust her again when she is back, my heart broke a thousand times for all the pain they have to endure and I was rooting for them from the first pages, their scenes so charged with emotion, passion and love were heartbreakingly beautiful and deliciously addictive, their souls deeply connected despite time and distance.

The skill of this author has no comparison, she always manages to arouse the most intense emotions in the reader, her stories are always so beautiful, captivating, intense and Someday is all that and more, I love stories of best friends to lovers combined with second chances, add to that the angst, the passion, and the deep emotional connection and you have ABSOLUTE PERFECTION.

I love this world and the Landmark family so much, they are so supportive and always there for each other, I can’t wait for more.

Theo and Sofie's story is a beautifully journey of two people whose chance at life was snuffed by terrible circumstances and now they are getting a second chance at love.

Eight years prior Sofie left in the middle of the night without an explanation. She left Theo a note with no real information as to why she was just leaving. Now here she is, back in her hometown, and Theo has come face to face with the one person who has never been able to leave his heart.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️ 1/2
Angst level: 💔💔💔

Things to look for in this book:

Small town romance ✔️
Childhood lovers ✔️
Second chance romance ✔️
Friends to lovers to strangers to lovers ✔️
All the feels ✔️

Theo has tried to put Sofie out of his mind for the last eight years, but that has shown to be unsuccessful when she shows up and plans to stay. Which is something that she wasn't willing to do all those years ago. But we come to find out that there is a very good, but extremely heartbreaking, reason why she left without a trace.

The connection between these two characters was so raw and real. Theo's immediate reaction to her and the things he said absolutely broke my heart for both of them. Sofie wasn't willing to offer up the real reason she left, so Theo was left with what he knew. But when the truth comes to light, Theo's demeanor completely changes and his character development is truly wonderful to see.

The side characters were also great! It is also awesome to see the Landmark siblings and all of their antics, but we saw them dive deeper into their relationships to be there for Theo the way he needed them to be. I also loved seeing Sofie's aunts and how they were able to be there for her in a way that no one has been before.

I am looking forward to seeing the next book!! The FMC definitely as a story to tell and I just know that the Landmark brother who will be her MMC is going to slay for her.

Thank you Valentine PR for this arc, I was super excited when I received the email! - All views and opinions are my own.

(Possible spoilers? Idk)
I don’t even know where to start…
I was in such a bad reading slump before reading this book and OMG let me tell you Someday got me right out of it!! I hadn’t rated a book 5/5 in a while either, but this book easily got full stars. There wasn’t one thing that I disliked about this book, and I will forever recommend it to everyone. I need the paperback when it’s released because I have sooo many annotations!

This book made me emotional at times (there are trigger warnings so check them out), like what Sofie went through when she was younger and how she stayed so strong is inspirational. It made me love her character even more!

Theo was an absolute sweetheart, from the age of them at 5 years old to teenagers, up to adulthood - minus the blip at the start when she returns to town. I really liked his character overall, proper cinnamon roll hero. I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop from when they were kids as best friends to then becoming lovers later on, and I loved seeing them find their way back to each other.

I loved the found family aspect a lot, especially considering what Sofie went through, it was honestly so perfect that Theo’s family loved her like their own.
Every side character was great and made the book even better, like Marlow and Dakota <3, Softie’s aunts and Theo’s whole family.
Basically I loved this book lol

I can’t wait to see Wyatt and Marlow’s story!!

If you haven’t read this yet, read it! You won’t regret it xoxo

Second chance usually isn’t a go-to trope for me, but I fell in love with the Landmarks in book 1, so I’m going to read whatever tropes we’re given 😂

But apparently I’ve just been picking some heavy hitter books, because there were many times that I was crying right alongside Sofie and Theo. (Can we also talk about how this man wasn’t afraid to show his pain and anguish in tears?? Yeah, there were a couple times he let anger and insecurity get the better of him, but otherwise he was so emotionally vulnerable with Sofie and his siblings. And it was so refreshing to see.)

I like that we got to see glimpses into the past through both of their perspectives. Sofie and Theo were childhood crushes turned young love. But then right before she turned 18 she left town leaving behind only a cryptic note. Hearing Theo talk about the soul crushing pain he experienced was awful! But he always had an inkling in the back of his mind that there was more to the story than Sofie gave. And OH BOY was he right.

There was so much healing and growth throughout this book- both for Theo and for Sofie. It didn’t come without its set backs and bumps, though. But it was great seeing them talk their way through things like they always had.

I thought book 1 was going to be hard to beat, but Theo and Sofie are definitely now my #1 Landmark couple! I can’t wait to see Marlow and Dakota get their HEA with the other Landmark doctor brother!

Theo and Sofie were best friends as children, stayed best friends as they started dating in their teens, and Theo thought they were destined to spend their lives together. Until Sofie disappeared right after they'd graduated from college. He didn't hear from her for 8 years till she moved back to Landmark Mountain.

This is a roller coaster of a story - Sofie's back and Theo is still angry and hurt, and since he doesn't know the real reason she left, he thinks it was something about him - he's still scarred because they had the love of a lifetime. Sofie has apologized, and eventually tells him the truth - and yet he's still struggling to believe they can survive because deep down, he's terrified that she's going to leave again.

Lots of emotional moments, along with the release of anxiety from letting go of the baggage one or the other of them have been carrying all these years.

The tension!! Second chance romances have grown on me so much lately. I really enjoyed this one because it’s childhood friends to lovers that everyone knew would end up together, expect she ends up leaving unexpectedly. The reason she left and took so long to come back is a good reason but a heavy one so please check the content warnings.

You can tell these characters are perfect for each other. The flashbacks that were added made the story even better and I really liked there wasn’t a breakup because these two had already been through a lot. Some people may think things shift to quick almost picking up right where they left off, but I think the timing of how things happened for them makes sense. No need for them to waste anymore time apart after 8 years when they know they’re going to end up together.

Thank you to Valentine PR and Willow Aster for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

After loving Unforgettable I couldn’t wait to read Someday! Theo and Sofie did not disappoint. I’m a sucker for a good second chance romance and this one hit me in all the feels. Marlow and Dakota were great additions to this cast of characters. I loved seeing more of the dynamics between the Landmark siblings! Theo and Sofie were both phenomenal characters and j loved the growth they both experienced in this book. Also, the part where you find out why the book is named Someday blew me away. Loved the epilogue. Cant wait for Wyatt and Marlow’s story!
