When a fake relationship feels a little too real…. I’m in a Tight Spot.

I’m not a nice guy. I’m too rude. Too gruff. I want to be left alone and stay in my lane as one of the best tight ends in the NFL. Too bad management has a sudden problem with my image and all the fines I’ve been racking up.

Now I’m told I need to settle down, shape up…or they’re shipping me out.

Except no playbook could have prepared me for the Hail Mary pass they threw at me:

Enter Hailey Parillo. My fake girlfriend. She’s the Sunshine to my Grump, the Sweet to my Sour and the Smile to my Scowl. As ridiculous as it is, she agrees to play this fake game with me, for something in return:

Lessons in seducing a man and losing her virginity.

I almost balk at the idea, but I've got a career I don't want to lose in a city I don't want to leave.

AND little did I know this is the most important game of my life.

Tight Spot is book three in the Nashville Steel series, it could be read as a standalone, but I liked and recommend to not miss any of the previous books.

This was a very good book from start to end, it was truly impossible to put down.

Dawson Butler is a veteran for the Nashville football team, he is in need of a steady relationship in order to clean up his public image and to appease the GM and the owner of the team. He hates relationships, so his only chance is to find a partner for a fake one. He reluctantly calls a famous matchmaker and he meets Hailey Parillo. After an hurtful breakup, Hailey isn't looking for a relationship so she accepts Dawson's proposal.

Dawson and Hailey are so different but perfectly matched. He is a quiet, reserved man, while she is a friendly, extroverted woman.
I really liked how they drive each other crazy just being in the same room, their physical attraction is sizzling hot, but they are also very sweet and caring.

Stacey Lynn has made spicy and steamy a slow burn kind of story. The characters were well rounded and credible. The fake dating trope is one of my favourite, and this one was even more intriguing with the addition of the clause to lose the V-Card to the pact.

Making a Deal

Dawson was an NFL star who needs to clean up his image and Hailey is a woman who needs to get rid of her V-card so what better way to kill two birds with one stone. These two were hot and it made this book a big page turner for me. I just couldn’t get enough of this couple.

Give me all the grumpy men who are against relationships and then fall hard for the one they can’t live without. “Tight Spot” is a sweet, emotional and heartfelt fake dating football romance that pulled me and I could not stop reading Dawson and Hailey’s story.

After bailing his sister out of another situation, Dawson is done with her. And he also needs to show the Nashville Steel that he’s committed to the team. His agent suggests a fake girlfriend to show the owner and the team that he’s not the unhinged man that the media made him out to be. Hailey is finally moving on after her fiance left her before their wedding with one of her bridesmaids and is thriving in her restoration business she built from the ground up. She’s not looking for Mr. Forever but for Mr. Right Now. And someone to help with that pesky V card. The two agree to a fake relationship but as they spend time together, they realize how much they are right for each other.

Oh my gosh, I loved Dawson so much. He’s a grump but has the biggest caring side that he doesn’t show a lot of people. It shines through on how much he pays attention to Hailey in the beginning, even when things were meant to be fake and temporary. I loved Hailey and connected with her right from the beginning. She’s kind, genuine and independent and I loved her profession. Their relationship was incredibly sweet and genuine and I loved how it progressed from fake to real. It was a slow burn to get to losing to the V card but they did lots of other things that provided lots of steam and great build up to the big moment. The ending was perfect for them and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book, provided by Valentine PR. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Getting to know Dawson through the first two books of this series, I was SO hoping he would get his happy ending! Dawson was given a rough shake in life, a broken family and not much support. He spent the majority of his youth and early adulthood taking care of an ungrateful, scheming sister, getting her out of bind after bind. One incident goes too far, and Dawson is left with the consequences - shape up and settle down or face being shipped out of the Nashville Steele. Could a matchmaker be his answer?

Hailey spent the last four years saving herself for a man who wasn't saving herself for him - despite that being at his request. As she picks up the pieces, she decides to help out her matchmaker friend and check out a fake relationship with a guy she doesn't know is a famous football player - and maybe he can help her in the bedroom.

I absolutely loved this book. Dawson's slow soften toward Hailey, and how they reacted to each other was so fun. I knew Dawson would be a giant cinnamon roll with the right woman. Dawson pouring his heart out to Hailey's dad about his family was such a great moment, and I loved how her dad reacted. Hailey's family was pretty overbearing, and they got on my nerves a little. But they were a minor inconvenience compared to Hailey's ex. Man, what a piece of work!

I look forward to more books in this series, and it's great to have all the previous couples make appearances. I loved reading about Cole and Eden and Davis and Maggie :)

Dawson was recently arrested and his coach says that he needs to get a better image in the media. What better way to do this than to get a fake girlfriend? Enter Hailey, recently left at the altar and looking for somebody short term that can help her with her virginity. She is the perfect woman for the job.

The chemistry between Hailey and Dawson is so good. It’s very strong from their first interaction over the phone. They both think that what the other person is asking for is a little crazy but it doesn’t stop them from agreeing.

Dawson has a lot of stuff in his childhood that makes it hard for him to trust people and he believes that he can never be in a relationship. Hailey really opens his mind to that and gets him to trust her. He’s not looking for it at all but what do you know, he falls in love with her.

Hailey is a really strong character and I love her. She owns her own business and doesn’t put up with anybody’s crap. She’s always honest with Dawson about what’s going on and it’s very refreshing. When he couldn’t give her an answer she walks away and that takes courage. She knows what she deserves.

Also I won’t say much about it but there’s a whole subplot about Dawson and the books that Hailey likes to read and it’s so good.

I would really like a bonus chapter about them finding out that they are pregnant because I know it would be so good.

I received an arc through valentine pr.

Tight Spot is a fake dating, grump sunshine, virgin heroine sports romance. Essentially footballer Dawson gets himself into a ‘tight spot’ where his image needs a little cleaning up, ie. needs a girlfriend so he seeks the assistance of a matchmaker who promptly sets him up with her friend, who is in need of some no-strings fun after being jilted by her ex-fiancé.

It doesn’t take long before they realise this arrangement holds something more.

Full disclosure I was a little ambivalent about this one at the outset as one of the tropes isn’t really my jam but I have to say I enjoyed the heck out of this book. Both characters have their issues as individuals and they aren’t looking for partners, and their openness with one another is really refreshing. They have fun together and show aspects of themselves they might otherwise have withheld in other circumstances. And it’s always fun when you see the signs of the guy falling first, even when he can’t or won’t identify it or admit it.

These two are great characters separately and together. There’s tension and banter and the recovery from the third act drama is worth any frustration. There are some cameos as well from characters from the previous books which provide sufficient detail if this is being read as a standalone, though for context I think it’s better reading these in order.

Thanks to Valentine PR for an ARC of Tight Spot.

Nashville Steel #3

Dawson Butler is a tight end for the Nashville Steel football team. He's not overly friendly, rude, and just wants to be left alone. However his sister Crystal has created another problem that he got involved with and now management isn't too happy about it. He's told he needs to clean up his act, fix his image and in fact, find a nice girl and settle down or get shipped out.

Hailey Parillo was supposed to get married but her fiance didn't bother to show up for the wedding but showed up to pick up one of the bridesmaids and left.
Now her matchmaking friend wants to set her up, so she gives her a crazy list of what she wants in a guy.
Enter Dawson.

Hailey owns a successful refurbished furniture business in Friendswood, Tn.
Dawson and Hailey agree to meet at a restaurant. She's not into sports so meeting Dawson didn't ring any bells of who he was which he thought was refreshing.
They both agree to fake dating and showing up at events for each other. She agrees if he will agree to what she wants, how to seduce a man.

And so it begins!

Loved this story and how sweet Dawson was.

Dawson and Hailey’s story is one that I absolutely loved. When Dawson is in need to revamp his image in the NFL as the grumpy mean guy he isn’t sure where to start, but when he is sent to a matchmaker his expectations are low and straightforward that this relationship is for show. Hailey was recently burned by her ex in a very humiliating way, but she has an inner strength about her that she knows what she wants and going into this arrangement with Dawson is beneficial to both of the until feelings get involved. Dawson is grumpy and standoffish because of his past and the narcissistic family members that have only ever used him. My heart hurt for the pain he went through and the years that were lost because his mother and sister are incredibly selfish people. I would loved to have seen Hailey throat punch them. The relationship between Dawson and Hailey is one that neither see coming, especially Dawson, but it’s undeniably there and so strong. The storyline was perfect and it was so easy to fall in love with both characters and their friends that I will be going back to read their stories.

If you’ve read the previous stories in this series, you know Dawson seems to go crazy when something involves his CRAZY sister! And because of her, he now has an unfavorable image according to his team leadership. Yikes! He doesn’t want to possibly be removed from the team. He loves football! He loves his team! This has been his one and only team his entire career. So to clean up his image he does as he’s told and finds himself a girlfriend.
Well, a fake girlfriend…. A fake girlfriend from a professional matchmaker….
The matchmaker just so happens to be best friends with Hailey who she matches him with and has very cryptic words for her involving Dawson…
Who do these two go from fake dating to more????
Great story!*

Another book in the Nashville Steel series! Dawson Butler is a tight end on the Super Bowl champion Nashville Steel NFL team! He’s great at his job on the field, but not so great at the PR side of it, and his sister had caused trouble for him again! When he’s arrested for assaulting a guy at a bar it’s over his sister. But a night in jail brings bad attention from the GM and owner Dawson’s way. He’s given an ultimatum to clean up his act and settle down or they won’t be renewing his contract!
A great story about two people who need something from one another, and set out to get it with no strings attached!
Great book, wonderful characters, and lots of steam!

Oh Dawson, your grumpy, broody self is on my favorite book boyfriend list. For as grumpy as he was, he was equally protective and tender. Hailey is one lucky lady. Just know that if he doesn't knock your socks off before he screws things up (LOL) he will total melt your heart and make you cry with his grand gesture. so good!

I wanted more from this book. It had so much potential but it fell flat for me. He falls hard and fast and once she catching up there’s conflict. It just didn’t work for me.
I did love the fake dating and "teaching" her aspect of the story which was was led the book and made it enjoyable for me.

Read this if you like:
-football MMC
-virg!n FMC
-fake dating
-"teachable" moments (lots)
-he falls first

✨I recommend this if you like the virg!n needs to learn trope because there’s a lot of that and it’s good.

Wow! Just wow! I just adored this couple! Dawson is the gruff, almost loner athlete but meets his match in Hailey who is his complete opposite. Brought together by necessity on Dawson's part, and the "wish list" on Hailey's, it is a match made in heaven. These two are just too cute together, and Dawson is absolutely swoon-worthy once he decides what he wants. The sparks off of these two are sizzling and I love how they interact together. I found this book and this series amazing so far and cannot wait to read more!

I received a free advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest review.

We’ve got the broody, closed-off athlete who needs an image change, the kind genuine woman who’s been wronged by her ex-fiancé, and a mutual understanding that their fake relationship can never turn into forever. Throw in some sexy scenes featuring the heroine’s romance novels and some seriously adorable groveling and you’ve got yourself a 5⭐️ read!

Tight Spot by Stacey Lynn, is the third book in the Nashville Steel Series, you can read it as a stand-alone, but I am going to invite you to read the previous books because they are very good and when you enter the world of the Steels you will not want to leave. In this book we have Dawson Butler, this man comes from a broken family and has spent most of his life helping his sister, who is ungrateful and conniving, getting her out of tangle after tangle, the last one putting him in a difficult situation with the Steel, where he settles down or will face being cut from the team. But this is complicated for Dawson, since he doesn't like relationships, he's never had time for them, his life is football, and he's a full-blown grump, so he decides to find a fake partner to help him clean up his image and appease the owners of the team. With this in mind, and although not very convinced, he hires a famous matchmaker to introduce him to someone, it's there where he meets Hailey Parillo. Hailey is a sweet girl with a good heart and a bubbly personality, who after having been in a relationship finds herself picking up the pieces she was left in after that relationship failed, so when her matchmaker friend asks her for help with this fake relationship, with a guy she doesn't know, she accepts, since she isn't looking for anything serious and this man could be the solution to a small matter that she must solve. But what starts as a lie progresses to something more and it will be inevitable that these two fall prisoners of love.
This is a fun, sweet, emotional story with a lot of passion and love, the characters are wonderful and seeing how they evolve with respect to each other and the relationship was a beautiful journey, this series has me captivated and with each book I love it even more, If you are like me and you enjoy sports romance this story is for you. Highly recommended!
*Thanks to Stacey Lynn and Valentine PR & Literary Management for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*

¡Altamente Recomendada!

🏈ARC REVIEW🏈

Tight Spot is the third book in the Nashville Steel series by Stacey Lynn, featuring a captivating grumpy/sunshine, fake-dating football romance with Dawson and Hailey. Dawson has always been the gruff, rude, bad boy of his NFL team, but when a family mess landed him in hot water, management had had enough. He was ordered to find a nice girl to settle down with and improve his image, or his career with the Steel will be over. Hailey is a virgin who finds out her fiancé wasn’t saving himself for her like he said, when she found him cheating. Well, she’s ready to find out what she’s missing. A professional matchmaker sets them up, and they agree to a short-term arrangement. He might think he can teach her about pleasure and walk away, but she just might be exactly what he never knew he’s always needed.

I’ll admit when I read this blurb I hesitated briefly, because I’ve read so many stories with this premise… pro athlete gets in trouble so he fake dates a good girl to improve his image. We’ve all seen it before, right? But, I trusted this author, and I’m sooo glad I did! The world building for this series is impeccable with so many compelling characters, authentic emotions, witty banter, a found family vibe among the teammates and more. Dawson and Hailey sucked me in right away. It was impressive the way they could be sweet with each other, have super steamy moments, while it was technically a very slow burn for Hailey. With all the drama, angst, a surprising twist, and a swoon worthy grand gesture, this was a page turner worthy of all the stars!😍 I love this series and all these characters so much! I can’t wait to see whose story comes next!!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tight Spot – Nashville Steel Book #3 - Review

Author: Stacey Lynn

Couple: Hailey & Dawson

Tropes: sports romance, football romance, opposites attract, fake relationship, forced proximity, reformed playboy, friends to lovers

Review: The Nashville Steel are back and this time we get to meet Dawson! In this dual POV romance we get the ultimate grumpy/sunshine vibes and fake relationship dynamic we all love!

Dawson has a unique story that we began to see in book 2 and getting to read his POV was amazing. He was a character I immediately fell in love with and routed for his HEA. I enjoyed how Stacey created the history of his childhood and the family drama he came with. The evolution of his character in this book was what made this a terrific read in my opinion and I found myself on the edge waiting to see how he accepted his feelings for Hailey. I found the idea that he used a match maker to set him up with a fake girlfriend hilarious and perfect for this plot since we begin to see how each sub-character ties into the plot.

Hailey is also an FMC that I adored. She was spunky and shy at times but I found her humor to be spot on. I enjoyed how she was so resistant to admitting her feelings even while she used Dawson for her own goals. Her story was comical and strong-willed in the sense that we saw her stand up to the famous football player and fall in love with him. I also enjoyed how she pushed him to talk to his father and stay true to his word about his sister. The tension that Hailey creates with her wants in the fake relationship were also swoon worthy since she is very determined to obtain her goals.

This book is packed full of tension and angst. It is a phenomenal fake relationship and forced proximity book. I enjoyed how Dawson slowly thawed out his iced over heart and how Hailey began to trust her feelings for him. I also LOVED how they had a great friendship and were able to be honest with one another.

Rating: 4/5, super witty football romance!

Tight Spot is the third book in the Nashville Steel series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Dawson is a tight end in the NFL, but he has a bad image. He’s grumpy and hates everyone. One night, he defends his sister, but in doing so, he makes his image even worse…by getting arrested. Now, he needs to clean up his image, and the way to do that is to get a girlfriend..or a fake girlfriend, since he has no inclination to be in a relationship.

Hailey is heartbroken after her ex-fiance ran off with a bridesmaid before their wedding and broke all his promises. He made her wait to have sex until after they were married and they were together for four years, so she’s still a virgin at 24 and just wants her dream man to take her virginity.

A professional matchmaker sets them up, and when they meet, there’s instant attraction. Hailey has no idea who he is, despite him being a renowned football player. When he hears her story, he wants to help her, but he also doesn’t want things to get too complicated between them. Yet as they spend more time together, they can’t help but fall for each other.

Hailey owned a pretty successful business where she bought, refurbished, and resold used furniture. She was so kind, despite how her ex left her. Dawson was closed off because of the women in his life, but he was so sweet with Hailey. He listened to her and truly paid attention to her likes, wants, and needs. He was also thoughtful as he didn’t want to take her virginity and then just leave her, so he somewhat refused to sleep with her…

Also, Dawson had a strained relationship with his family and really hated his father, all due to a misunderstanding. I’m so happy that he managed to have a heart to heart with his father and reconcile their relationship. As for Hailey, she had a very loving and supportive family that was also extremely protective of her.

Of course, there was a third act break up, but the grand gesture was so cute. Oh, and this was an EXTREMELY slow burn. I mean…I think it was around 94% when Hailey got what she truly wanted. Anyway, this was a cute story and I enjoyed it.

Triggers (potential spoilers):
FMC's ex was cheating on her the whole time
MMC's mom was a cheater/homewrecker and so was his sister

This is book three in The Nashville Steel series and it is Dawson and Hailey’s story. Dawson plays for the Nashville Steel as a tight end and he is also a bit of a loner but when his image takes a beating management decide that he needs to settle down and get a fake girlfriend before he loses his place on the team and out of the NFL and as his career is so important to him he will have to go with what they suggest and all this happened because of his sister Crystal who he had spoiled but he was not loosing his career over her so he needed her to go. Harley had a bad time of it lately as she was stood up at the altar causing her humiliation in front of all the guests because he took her bridesmaid with him so now she had no interest in dating, men or relationships after being left with all the wedding debts along with her student loans so now she decided to concentrate on her business and move forward with her life as best as she can. When Dawson and Hailey meet there attraction is instant and chemistry strong but neither want a relationship but manage to come up with there own agenda which works for both of them but what happens when fake suddenly starts to become very real, will they take a chance on each other or just walk away because of their past. I absolutely loved this book and it had you feeling so many emotions and the raw pain as if you are there living through it with them and I couldn’t put this book down because it was so addictive. The storyline pulled you in right from the start and kept your attention throughout the whole book and Dawson and Hailey were so perfect for each other and together and i am so glad that they managed to sort out everything and trust each other so that they could get the happiness and future that they both deserved. I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will not be disappointed.

I loved Hailey and Dawson! … These two had explosive chemistry! They were such awesome characters with big hearts, romantic gestures and a whole lot of sweetness. It was all so entertaining. There is an ease to it that was really engaging making me want more and more. I couldn’t help swooning hard for Dawson! Their fake relationship brought all the feels, filled with emotion, the teasing, the passion and some steamy scenes. Seriously you will fall in love with Hailey and Dawson!

Dawson Butler prides himself as being one of the best tight ends in the NFL but when the Nashville Steel management has a problem with his image and all the fines he has been racking up, he’s told to settle down, shape up or they will be shipping him elsewhere. And he is not ready to leave his team or Nashville. Now he just needed to find a simple, quiet, believable, girlfriend who didn’t want forever and plaster their fake, happy relationship all over social media, proving he has changed his ways. But he sure wasn’t counting on this beauty!

After a six year relationship Hailey was ghosted at the altar two months ago. Now her friend Meredith who ran the most successful romantic dating match service in the area was set on getting her back out into the dating world. Hailey was determined to make it completely impossible for her friend to deliver, she came up with a list…drop-dead sexy, a little bit rough looking, strong, tattoos, a piercing, possessive, a body that showed confidence in his ability to please a woman, but who wasn’t looking for forever. Because all she really needed was a man who would teach her how to seduce a man…and a man to finally take her virginity.

You are going to love these two together! I just couldn’t get enough of Hailey and Dawson! And now I am anxiously waiting for the next book in this series!!!

I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

No 3 In the series and my 1st. Stacey had a way of writing that sucks you in straight away and keeps wanting more.
This was a Fake Relationship and Sports Romance.
Dawson is an American Football player. He is the best but his personality comes across rude. One innocent incident and he is on the verge of getting kicked out. So he must clean up his reputation. He doesn't do relationship, he had a lot of hang ups that's made him ow to neveret another woman in, that could destroy him. So fake relationship was the solution.
Hailey still recovering from betrayal by her ex Fiancé and bridesmaid. Left at the altar, she isn't looking for [serious relationship anymore. But she wants to experience losing her V card.
He best friend Meredith is awesome and the best matchmaker. These two may think it's fake but Meredith is never wrong.
Their attraction is instant and chemistry exploding everywhere.
I loved how easily they got on and enjoyed the fake relationship. But it doesn't feel fake anymore. Can they really break down their walls and give it a real chance?
This book made me feel all the emotions and I loved it. There were heartbreaking moments and I just wanted to knock sense into Dawson.
Great banter amongst friends. Loved them all. Witty humour, found family, Little drama, all the feels, love, pain and so Spicy. My only wish is, I wish she lost the V card a bit earlier in the story. Can Dawson move past his baggage and win her over? Read and find out.
Favourite Quotes:
"Peppermint and sunshine and happiness. She tasted like all of it and the soft flesh of her skin was so damn beautiful."

“Whoever the man was who had you, he was wasteful to not take care of the beauty he had in his hands. Bet he didn’t even realize what he had, did he?”

“I want you so much I’m terrified I’ll hurt you. Show you a side of me I’m not sure I recognize right now.”

Tight Spot by Stacey Lynn is a sports romance with lots of fun tropes: bad boy/good girl, grumpy sunshine, fake dating and a virgin heroine who is looking for ahem, love lessons. Dawson, our hero, is a professional football player who needs an image boost to save his career. He is super grumpy (love that), broody and intense. He also has a piercing which is my favorite thing! As a character, I wouldn't say Dawson is overly likable, but watching him fall for Hailey helps soften him up and I'm sure the reader will end up really loving him. Also, he's got a rough family situation which explains why he is so rough around the edges. I love a damaged hero. Hailey, our heroine, is fresh out of a 4-year-engagement gone bad. I loved that she was so independent and a business owner. I felt like she was a little clueless at times (ex: never having seen a d1ck before despite being engaged for 4 years), but overall she is your perfect sunshiney hometown girl who is looking to level up her personal life. She has a supportive, if not overbearing, family and the dynamics were fun to watch. As for spice, this is definitely a slow burn and things don't really ramp up to the very end which was kind of disappointing. I wish they had advanced more in their lessons earlier in the book so we could get the pay off, but I understand and respect Dawson's decision to not take her virginity since they technically had a time limit on their fake relationship. There is a third act breakup which isn't my favorite feature in a book, but Dawson's grovel game is top notch and that makes it better. This is a quick fun read and if you are a fan of the fake dating trope then I would say give this one a try! Thank you Valentine PR for the opportunity to read an early copy of this book.

I love reading sports romances and especially with a fake dating trope.

Hailey was left at the altar by her fiance. After everything fell through, she decided to give up on men so she could put her life in order. Her friend Meredith had other plans.

Dawson is a successful NFL star, but because of some trouble caused by his sister, he has to fix his image as soon as possible. He decides to contact Meredith's agency for help. And because she owns the most famous dating agency, she agrees to help, pairing him with Hailey.

Both of them felt the mutual attraction from the moment they met, but of course they didn't want to admit it. Hailey is quite reluctant to help Dawson, because she sees that she isn't in his league. She agrees to the fake date, with a condition. A very pleasurable condition when it comes to Dawson.

When it comes to feeling feelings, both of them are afraid. Hailey, because she was hurt, and Dawson, because of his parents not being happy in their marriage.

But like in every romance, the fake starts to feel real. Dawson admitted to himself that he had feelings towards Hailey, but he was still not sure if he deserved happiness. He thinks that she deserves something better. And Hailey...She fell in love almost straight away with him, but she knew that sooner or later they had to part ways.

I was really happy that he didn't need that much time to realize that he was in love and showed it to her in the most romantic way.

The book had a decent amount of smut and spice and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Overall, the book was very light to read with a normal amount of drama (at least for me 😁). I liked the story and the romance between Hailey and Dawson.

I’m always a big fan of fake dating tropes and athlete MMC. When I got this arc I managed to finish it in two days and safe to say I’m a fan of Dawson and Hailey.

Dawson is a football player for the Nashville Steel who in needs a fake girlfriend as he has to show his personality as someone who always work out at the field and clean his image. So he went to Meredith Matchmaking and that’s how he met Hailey. Hailey who got dumped at the altar is the perfect match as they both didn’t look for happily ever after. But she set one condition in order to become Dawson’s fake girlfriend.

I know I’m going to like this book when I first start it. I totally feel for Dawson and the burdens he carries. When his parent’s marriage end, he needs to look for his troublemaker sister and when bad thing happened, he kicked her out from his house. He’s really a good brother and I hate when his sister took advantage of him. He deserve to be happy and I’m glad he met Hailey. Hailey is the sweet innocent girl who absolutely perfect for Dawson. Meredith really did her job! I love their chemistry together and even the ‘making love’ thing happen after 90% of the book, I still feel this book have 3 level of spiciness. But I just hope we don’t have to wait that long though.

Anyway, this is really an enjoyable read and if the tropes listed above are your thing, pick this one up!

Thank you @valentinepr for the arc

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5

Disclaimer: I received a review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thanks to the author and publisher.

General Thoughts: ARC review. Have I read a lot of novels more or less with this plot? Yes. Did I still love this one? Yes. And she did take a slightly different take on the plot. This is a professional athlete did a stupid thing/perceived stupid thing and got in trouble. Since he's hated in the league, he needs to clean up his image. Voila find a nice girl to fake date and fix the image publicly. But wait, he kind of likes the girl he's fake dating.

Anyway, I won't give you any spoilers (that's all in the blurb). But yes, the plot has been done before. I love this trope, so I'm always here for it.

But what made this one shine were the characters and the great writing. I really liked Hailey and Dawson together and separately. The tension between them was great. I wanted to shake my head at all the red flags that Hailey missed in her prior relationship (but girl been there). The characters were well-fleshed out and credible. I loved seeing them grow and the dynamics between them.

First book by this author; won't be my last. Can't wait to see what comes next (and go back and read the ones I've missed.)

Steam Meter: ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Some sexual content. Not the most descriptive or frequent, but definitely there.

Tight spot was an enjoyable read. It's angsty, emotional, and steamy. Throughout the whole book the two main characters Dawson and Hailey have off the charts chemistry. Hailey is a scorned woman left at the alter and trying to regain her confidence again but terrified to put herself out there. Dawson is trying to regain the confidence of his professional football team management after a blow up and misunderstanding caused by his narcissistic sister, who is like a tornado and comes through and destroys almost everything in his life leaves a path of destruction and leaves.
Trying to clean up his image he starts to look for a relationship that looks good in the media but no emotions will get involved. He wants that kind of understanding before he dives into operation get back in the good graces of his football teams management.
However there are stipulations Hailey wants the experience and wants him to teach her how to be with a man. He is unsure about that and you see the conflict that he goes through internally. However their chemistry is off the charts both of them tell themselves we are not getting emotionally involved it's going to be over before we know it this is just a fake relationship, a facade we're both not looking for permanent just to get what we need from each other and then move on.

Matters of the heart don't always work that way. And when things get real they get extremely real and it is a ride that's angsty emotionally gripping and so worth it.

Stacey Lynn knows how to write Sports Romance with so much angst and build up it leaves you glued to your seat and your heart pumps wildly right along with the characters.

Ohhhhh, Dawson. There is so much more to this man than you’d guess. He’s grappling with some serious issues, a sister who won’t grow up or care about anyone but herself, and now consequences due to an accident caused by said sister. His career could be on the line, his life is chaos, and now he needs to find a way to appear stable and nice and approachable. So once he does exactly what he should’ve done a long time ago, he finds himself face to face with Hailey. The woman who should be temporary but who has forever all over her when he looks her way.

As for Hailey, she’s going through it. And IT is unpleasant. She wants experience. And fun. And not permanent. Or so she thinks. So once she’s convinced to give Dawson a try, the fireworks are ready and waiting to go off. But is this fake, or real, or a fling?

I adored these two and their attempts to find their way. Communication is key and wonderful until feelings get involved, and then it almost all breaks down. Dawson is actually also far more likable and fantastic than I was expecting, and I was expecting a lot. Thanks to his willingness to open up about his past hurts and his determination to get it right, he rediscovers a relationship that he desperately needed while working through issues to get Hailey back. Trust me when I say that this guy puts in the effort and richly deserves all the best that he and Hailey could possible find in their lives.
