North Shore #3

Delightful Sins

Rate this book
She betrayed them and ran away. Now they want their revenge.
In a town where all that matters is loyalty to your gang, I’ve been labeled a traitor.

A death sentence.

I ran away from the North Shore the day I knew I wasn’t safe there anymore. I left behind the people I thought were my family: My crew, the Kings.

More importantly, I turned my back on the two men who once meant everything to me.

The hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I might have known Elliot and Ethan since we were children, but I betrayed the brothers in more ways than one.

Now they want me dead.

I should have known no one escapes the Kings. They found me and are taking me back to face my darkest secrets and most haunting memories.

A place where I am public enemy number one.

I’m stuck with a master manipulator and his bloodthirsty brother. Two men who only want to make me hurt. In more ways than one.

They will never let me go. At least not until I’ve paid for my sins.

➳ welcome to the northshore—where everyone is crusty, dusty, and musty ☆

I AM SO EMBARASSED THAT I READ THIS BOOK. VEE AND I ARE SO EMBARASSED THAT WE READ THIS BOOK. LOLA KING IS NEVER BEATING THE PROBLEMATIC ALLEGATIONS. PACK THIS UP, I AM SO SERIOUS.

this is a FULL RANT. if you get upset easily/like this series, don't read this. there will be spoilers.

⌞jade⌝

this bitch is SO stupid. SO. FUCKING. STUPID. the girls lied to us, i'm sorry. redemption? where? character development? where? her only personality besides being 4'11??? is being a “violent bitch” and a “slut” (the authors words, not mine). after jade abused billie horribly in the first book, i expected some maturity and growth. however, this entire book was this dumbass lusting after NOT ONE BUT TWO GORA PAKORAS, WHILE COSPLAYING AS THEIR PET/KITTEN. no indian mother is allowing her indian daughter to partake in sweet home alabama incest core. she ain’t die from cancer for all this to happen. when vee and i read about all this WE DIED. we COULD NOT stop laughing. lola king—a BRITISH WHITE WOMAN—writing about INDIAN GIRLS??? in such horrendous manner??? in addition, lola using incorrect usages of hindi and punjabi??? its giving colonizer core.

⌞ethan⌝

ethan is the brother that had jade first, before leaving her one day with not much of an explanation. in turn, jade goes after his brother, elliot and fucks him (as well as the entire town) and then there is some fake tension that everyone cooks up in their heads. this dumbass bitch is a stereotypical sad, emo, pathetic, loser who grew into his features and became attractive after being bullied for being WEIRD. the worst part is, vee and i were liking him at first, then he HAD to go open his mouth and start acting like this master and punish his little toy??? WHERE IS THE LOGIC!!! his entire character got ruined for no reason and became the biggest cringe-fest circus clown. ethan's reason for breaking up with her, was that his brother manipulated him because he’s “insecure”??? like are you not a grown man??? LMFAO.

⌞elliot⌝

bro 6'7??? this clown is banging a girl who is 4'11??? i am closer to his height than jade is to mine... bro is a walking, talking ICK. so fucking ICKY. he is the “strong” and “conventionally attractive” man-whore who also HAPPENS to be in love with jade??? none of these hoes have any good qualities to be THIS obsessed. this man child has no presence in this book besides being part of HORRIBLE smut scenes which were SO repetitive. his character was SO forced in the narrative and was there to fill the MFM agenda. jade had little chemistry with ethan, however, elliot had NONE with her. if you ask me, i think they all should've died, but that's neither here nor there. elliot + ethan should've just gotten together. WASTED opportunity, as that could’ve been entertaining.

⌞LOLA KING : STOP WRITING POC CHARACTERS⌝

if you thought she was done butchering POC characters when she wrote the shitshow that was heartless beloved... sadly, you would be wrong. as indians, vee and i could not stop laughing. we are not even offended anymore, this is just a COMEDY act. her usage of our culture and INCORRECT language/spelling was the cherry on top. stick to writing what you know, and LEAVE US ALONE. we did not ask for this representation. we don’t wanna be a part of this. on behalf of muslims and indians, i am running the hate club. i beg you, just STOP.

we have seen this shit too far out, so we will be finishing lawless god.

i did however, have the best time laughing and making fun of this shit with my favorite girl vee! i love you so much. <3

i'm writing this review because i'm feeling messy tonight and i got my messy boots on.

on to the front—delightful sins by lola king—zeros across the board. when i tell you main characters in this book are the most INSUFFERABLE characters i've ever read in a book, i mean they're insufferable. i feel like me and manas should be compensated for reading this book. it's wild to think someone wrote this, had it edited, and a whole squad of people read it before it hit the shelves, and yet here we are 🤨

this book felt like i was reading a mid story with a side of degradation corn. when i tell you i've read many books and watched a lot of TV shows and movies where women are not seen equal to men. lola king takes it to a whole another level here. the first book in the series is honestly the grossest thing this author has ever put out. billie, the main girl, is an MMA fighter and she just keeps getting totally wrecked by caden, the main guy. then there's the second book where alex, another main girl, is basically a doormat and gets assaulted by xi, our half jewish-muslim dude. as for this book? it doesn’t have any of that stuff, but it still icked the fuck outta me and manas.

—♟️⊹ characters:

𖣠 jade alva:

this girl suffers from an extreme case of dumb-bitch-itis. everything about this girl pisses me off. this girl just gets on my nerves, like everything she does. the way she talks, her style, how she carries herself, her choices, her decision making skills, her critical thinking skills, her inner monologue. I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS GIRL. like she's supposed to be a strong fmc here who beats up people left right and centre but lola was successful in making her submissive for the two dogs over 300 pages. honestly, the worst part is that she's indian. like, yeah, she’s indian, and i can’t see indian moms letting their daughters go after a gora pakora. but in this book, jade somehow manages to chase two of them.

she kicked things off with ethan, our main dude. then when he dumped her, she moved on to his brother elliot, who’s also a main dude, and then she kinda hooked up with everyone in town. i get that she’s got some past trauma and i feel for her, but like, was all this drama really needed?

i’m so over these authors misrepresenting poc characters. the way she wrote hindi in this book was just wrong (and let’s not forget, the author is white.) it wasn’t even proper hindi; it was punjabi, and it was messed up too. like, come on, the author could’ve just used google translate because even that would’ve given her the right hindi. i seriously don’t get who told her to write it like that. me and manas were offended 🤚

“Ma,” I murmur. She barely stirs when I slide my hand in her hair. “Meh tenu pyar karteh hu.” I love you.

shut the fuck up, you uneducated peanut.

𖣠 elliot pearson and ethan torres

i'm not even joking when i say i wanna straight-up roast these two dogs to ashes. they're like stepbrothers who are all about sharing our girl, and their pet play kink is next level. no hate on kinks, do your thing, but this book was just a total dumpster fire. the smut? it's the most cringe, vomit inducing, eye bleaching, disgusting, sickening, foul, gross, nasty, stinking, vile, distasteful, repellent, obnoxious, objectionable, brain damaging, awful, cheap, fatherless behavior, what the hap is fuckening smut ever.

elliot, i can't even with this dude. he's like a giant at 6'7", but his brain is totally MIA. so full of himself, thinking he can twist any situation to his advantage. honestly, he's just super basic and boring. i feel like he shouldn't even be the main character in this book. like, how does someone who hated jade suddenly fall for her in a few pages? he claims he was in love with her the moment he laid eyes on her? seriously, what the fuck? and the way he played ethan into breaking up with jade made me want to punch him across his face multiple times—with knuckles of course.

“Fuck,” Elliot rasps. “She just got wetter. The little whore can’t wait for us to DP her.”

glad to see so many embracing therapy. a few of you need exorcism as well...baby steps.

at first, ethan was kinda growing on me and manas. we were all about how ethan and jade had way more chemistry than elliot and jade. he’s this broody dude who’s super anti-social and just grumpy all the time. we thought we finally found a solid main character in this series...until he started talking. honestly, I’m all for guys who master the art in shutting the fuck up, and he was totally doing that at first. but then we were totally wrong. the way the author totally MESSED UP his character by throwing in that master/sub kink was wild. and it’s not just that—he made jade literally crawl and lick his boot. no kink shaming here, but the feminist in me wouldn't let that slide 🙏

“You’re nothing,” I growl. “You’re a fuck toy, a little cum whore, a slutty little pet who deserves nothing but to be under my boot.”

“If you disobey again, I’ll rub your entire face in it, do you understand? I will flip you around and make you lick your own cum off the floor.” His boot presses harder. “Do. You. Understand?”

I can’t catch a fucking break. My dick hardens again when she goes on all fours, her slick pussy right in my vision. And when she lowers her head and licks my brother’s boot, I let mine fall back.

“This is your training, pretty kitten. You’re going to keep the tail in your ass while I fuck you. And then we’ll remove it so you can take both of us at the same time.”

my dude, that was unreadable please learn how to speak.

─ ♟️⊹ the plot [this section contains spoilers ‼️]

the plot was decent with too many plot holes like I'm talking about a lot of inconsistencies here. first off, this book promised us a classic hate-to-love scenario, and what did we get? absolutely nothing! it was all about that instant lust and love nonsense, and honestly, i felt totally duped. and can we talk about the part where elliot's dad assaulted jade? so predictable, it was like watching a bad rerun. then there's elliot and ethan, hiding cash from kayla just to pin everything on jade. their excuse? "oh, we didn't want to let you get too far away from us, uwu 👉👈." like, sir, please SHUT UP SHUT UP!! the only redeeming quality was tamara sending death threats to jade—like, she could’ve just taken her out for good.

manas and i were totally embarrassed after finishing this book. we legit had to sit in front of our deities and beg for some serious cleansing and forgiveness for diving into that absolute disaster.

thank you to my fabulous bestie manas for enduring this book torture with me ily x 🩷

Okay okay okay HEAR ME OUT!! I did have so much fun reading this book and clearly devoured it, this series is ABSOLUTELY insane and twisted and I’m HERE FOR IT! However… the tropes in this one just aren’t personally my favorite! This was why choose, MFM, and I’m typically not at all a why choose girl, reverse harem just isn’t for me, so the fact that I still really enjoyed this is telling about Lola Kings ability to suck you in! I also felt like this one was just had WAY too much smut in the last 40% and it definitely took me out of the story a bit because I was skimming over it. Pet play and degradation are a major ick for me 😭😭😭

THAT BEING SAID, this plot was actually insanity and the twists at the end had me on the edge of my seat! I’m so invested in the rivalry between the two gangs and without the strong plot I definitely would have struggled to get through this book!

Jades story also BROKE ME, I went into this despising her character only to find out how truly
misunderstood she is. This girl has been through hell and back and is still so strong and such a bad ass like all of Lola kings FMC.

We also get not one but two insanely morally black MMCs in this…. And holy hell, psychopaths honestly isn’t even a good enough word to describe them. I’m definitely an Ethan girlie, he’s such an emo sad bad I loved him.

As always with this series, it is extremely dark, one of the darkest I’ve read so please check your trigger warnings!!

Loved the previous book within this thrilling series so I'm jumping into this one tonight!!

I love reading about these characters we’ve already encountered, what makes them tick, what made them the way they are, their past, their futures.

This series ticks so many boxes, from the gang life, the merciless killing, the hatred for the opposing gang, the girls that claim them and try and tame them.

These two non blood brothers are brutal when it comes to taking out an opponent, one’s a psycho killer, the other is the cleaner, but both deadly in their own rights.

Both in love with the same girl
One manipulates her, the other protects her

I couldn’t decide on which brother I liked the most, the deadly silent one, or the one that was ruthless in his pursuit of her.

Then we read why Jade is the way she is, the girl pegged as a liar
The girl who disappeared without a trace.
The girl who went from a sweet girl to a girl fighting demons with no one in her corner.

This series gets grittier, darker and more addictive book by book.

the absolute unhinged, chaotic, psychopathic obsession these two had for her and the endless LOVE; soulmates if I ever saw it.

they really took “touch her and die” to a whole new level.

jade’s story broke my heart but the way ethan and elliot helped in her healing and finding her strength again was everything. she’s so brave and strong and must be protected at all costs. 😭

I have mixed feelings on this. I like the plot of this book but I don't like how Jade was almost constantly sexually assaulted in some way by Elliot and Ethan. RTC.
The plot
This book follows Jade, Elliot and Ethan.
Jade ran away from the North shore two years ago after being suspected of stealing money from her gang (though this is not why she ran away).
She has been living with a man called Stan that is part of another gang since this time and is forced to be in a sexual relationship with him.
He was paying for her mother's cancer treatment before she died and now Jade has nowhere else to go. However her ex-boyfriend Ethan and his stepbrother Elliot have been looking for her and they find out her location from Zai who is a member of their rival gang, the RSC (I think their gang is the NSC).
Obviously they find Jade and then they kidnap her.
However someone is threatening Jade's life. Ethan and Elliot agree to protect her. Despite this they sexually assault her countless times even though this is the woman that they both love.
My thoughts
This was an entertaining read but I hated having to read about another main female character in the series getting sexually assaulted again and I think this one had the most sexual assault in it.
I didn't know that Jade was going through so much when I was reading the other books because she seemed to be fine but she suffers from an eating disorder though she is mostly recovered from it now and she is grieving both of her parents and her father committed suicide a few years ago.
Anyway I did enjoy the plot of Ethan, Elliot and Jade having to steal money with Kayla though.

Well well how the turntables(Michael - The Office) ….

I am surprised I am rating this book so high compared to my thoughts about the characters.
Going into this book suspiciously it’s an understatement. I HATED the main characters from book 1. I despised Jade and Elliot. I had more sympathy for Ethan but not enough to make me like him. I just read this book because I am OBSESSED with this series and I wanted to read it without skipping any even though they are interconnected standalone. I almost DNF a couple times because I couldn’t help but be annoyed by Jade and completely hating Elliot, again Ethan was the only one gaining my love but not enough to make me love the book like I did the first 2 but I persevered, I kept going and when I got to 60% the book gets into 360 FOR ME, I am sure everyone loved from the beginning, I am in the minority here people, pls give me a break! LOL.
But at 60% when they are finally all together this book went up in flames and was damn near delicious. 🔥🥵🔥🥵
Ethan remained my absolute favorite and if you read this book you will understand when I say that I don’t know what that says about me, but maybe if you see the books I read you will actually see that it tracks 😂
But than I also started to really like Jade and also liked Elliot a lot. Don’t get me wrong, the story is amazing from beginning to end, you understand how they are the way they are as it happens with every character of this series because they ARE gangsters, criminals and that’s the life they were thought to live and their reality is that period. They do things they are not proud of because they have to it most of the times they do it and have not a once of remorse. I just thought it was unnecessary to throw that useless piece of information on us about Caden and Ethan in the past because it was NEVER EVER mentioned in Caden’s book and it did nothing to the story besides make me salivate because if that happened I at least wanted to see it. 😭cause how hot right? So it’s not a 5⭐️ like the first 2 because it literally took 60% of the book for me to actually like it, so it wouldn’t be fair to give 5⭐️ but the last 40% made up for. Going to Kay book RIGHT this second. I wish Lola King wrote a book for Emma. 😭

“Now give it to me.” He senses my confusion. I know he does because I feel his smile against my ear. “Consent. To play with you however I want. Even when you’re in states where you can’t fight back. Even when you’re sleeping. You wanted the deal, and it comes with all of that. So say it.”

Well now, hello Lola King and where have you been all my life? On a forever hunt of dark romance with morally gray characters, deranged and possessive anti heroes, and a chapter just for the trigger warnings, I stumbled on the blurb for this book. Instantly intrigued, this easily became my first read from Lola King and I can definitely assure you that now it will not be my last.
You want to scream his name?” he grunts. “You’ll be crying mine.”

This is a dark MFM romance with a fierce heroine and two highly deranged anti hero step brothers.

Two years ago, Jade ran from Silver Falls and The Kings, leaving behind her past and taking her secrets with her. Or so she thought. Because two years later, the two men she thought she left in her rearview are back to collect, and they'll take her penance in her body, degradation, and possession.
Elliot Pearson scares me. Because he has eyes that resemble an angel and reflect the needs of the devil. Because his hair is the same color as the sun, but what’s inside his head is darker than the night.

Now admittedly, because I haven't yet read the first 2 books in this series, it took me a minute to wrap my head around all the secondary characters and the intricacies of the two gangs; Kings and North Shore Crew. Each character was more deranged and unhinged than the next and I was instantly hooked. There is nothing better than a well written, unhinged anti hero, and Lola King has a winning formula in this book. Elliot and Ethan were on another level.
My beautiful Ethan. Life never loved him, so he loves nothing in return.

Jade is no innocent. This is a woman who had to fight all her life. She gives as good as she takes, and boy is she forced to take it. When you run from a gang who thinks you stole something of theirs, there is no where to hide. Jade is not above using her body to survive, and there was something so endearing about her mix of vulnerability with fierce survivor. Once she loved Ethan and Elliot and they shattered her. Now they've dragged her back and give her a choice; their protection for her body and consent.
I’m sorry my love is selfish and destructive, but it’s real. You can hardly blame a man for his obsession when his obsession is you.”

This was a dark and gritty page turner full of suspense and multilayered characters. At times the kinks between them were almost too much, but it fit the story. Having said that, I did feel that the story could have been a bit shorter and still lost nothing in the process so it took me a bit longer to read. However, it was also all encompassing snd highly addictive. I'll now be going back to read Lola's entire backlist and most definitely the first two books in this series.

WOW WOW WOW.
This was my first MFM and i loved it so much. I love the world that Lola created, i started reading her books when i fisrt saw Giving In and i fell in love with her writing, her world and her characters. Each book makes you want to be there. This is a dark book, you have the triggers at the beggining of the book.
Jade might be my favourite of all, she´s so strong and she went through so much. It broke my heart how she fell.
Elliot and Ethan were amazing and so hot, they are different and at the same time the same.
Their love, possession, their friendship was everything. I didn´t expect to love this book as much as i did, and i will read this again.
This world is one of my favourites to go into, with two rival gangs a lot angst, accion, love, fights, it will never get old.
Now i have to say something, Lawless God i´m coming for you, i can´t wait to read it because THE MALE CHARACTER, i was waiting for his book for a long time and he´s finally here. I want to know more about their story.

Thanks to Valentine Pr for the Arc.

WOW just WOW. This is going to be a perfect five star series for me mark my fucking words.

I was a little hesitant going into this book to be honest with you. I even thought about skipping over it, and that would’ve been the biggest mistake because this book was phenomenal.

After finishing heartless beloved, I went into this book despising Ethan Elliott and Jade so I was unsure how I was going to connect to their story, and surprisingly now that Ive finished, I think I was the most emotionally connected to this one.

Lola’s MMCs are some of my favorite. They’re so different but they all possess some of my favorite qualities, ya know completely unhinged touch her and you die, tall as fuck with tattoos🤭 Elliot and Ethan did not disappoint
(I’m surprised with how much I LOVED Elliot😮‍💨🔥🖤)

The gang rivalry in the series is top-notch. Lola really has me bouncing back-and-forth between both crews because I’m just so invested in everybody’s story.

I can’t believe how much Jade grew on me. I ended up, loving her so much. Her story was so emotional, and I was so shocked when I started rooting for her, that’s how you know Lola can write some beautifully complex/lovable characters!

I was curious how this why choose was going play out because both brothers seemed a little possessive over Jade, but it ended up blending together so seamlessly.

This is gonna be a series that I will forever recommend it’s spicy, It’s dark, It’s entertaining, It’s deep, It’s exciting, it’s got some of the best characters and every storyline is so different which keep it interesting.
I seriously cannot wait to jump into “Lawless God”

“Soon I'll hold your pretty little heart in the palm of my hand. Eventually, you won't be able to breathe unless I allow that heart to beat.”

I have NO clue how this series manages to get better with each book! I am loving this series it’s got to be one of my favourites! I was abit worried how I would be able to get through this book and be able to like these characters because of how they behaved in the previous books but once jade had the chance to explain herself my heart broke for her, she is easily the strongest FMC in the series and so misunderstood!
This book had me sobbing at so many parts because I could feel jades pain and frustration through not being believed and how hard that is, no wonder she was always so angry. Ethan and Elliot are sooo toxic and manipulative but I absolutely loved them (it’s okay because it’s fiction 😜). I loved that they really struggled with the polyamory and it didn’t completely come naturally to them, it made it much more realistic, but why choose is by far my favourite trope so I was always going to love they were able to open the relationship.
All three of these characters are really complicated and deep and I loved trying to work out why they were the way they were. This series is perfectly dark and I’m going to be so sad to be on the last book I don’t want this series to end! This one had to be the hottest book so far, the spice in all these books are amazing but this one was just next level, the fact that one praises while one degrades was just perfect🥵 it was a perfect ‘good top bad top’ situation. And just like the others the soundtracks for each of the chapters in this series are so good!

I don’t even know what to do with myself now that I’ve binged this entire series. I miss being in the North Shore already. I’ll just be here (im)patiently waiting for book 4, Lawless God, to release in April.

Delightful Sins follows Jade, Ethan, & Elliot who are all apart of the Kings crew from the North Shore. Ethan is Jade’s ex who broke her heart & she never really got over him. She tried moving on with his step-brother, Elliot which quickly turned messy. Fast forward a couple of years, Ethan & Elliot have to track down Jade & bring her back to the North Shore when the head of their gang is convinced she stole money from her & that’s the reason she fled town. Little does Jade know she’s about to sell her soul to the devil(s) once she’s finally back where she belongs…

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t super excited for this book ONLY because I absolutely hated Jade in book 1. However, we learn a lot about her in this book and why she did the things that she did & I’m so so glad I pushed through & finished this book! Their story was so raw & real & beautiful. I seriously can’t recommend this entire series enough — as always, be sure to check TWs!!

“ethan torres and elliot pearson are kneeling before me and no one else, ready to love me for who i am. that kind of power is dizzying. overwhelming. addictive”

i am super super picky with MFM books because they need to be written so damn good in order for me to love it. and Lola did such a great job with it. truly, i felt there was a perfect balance between Ethan & Elliot and that is the first thing i look for in every MFM book or any book really that involves 2 or more love interest. i don’t like to feel that the FMC loves one more then the other and in this book you could feel how much Jade loved the both of them equally and wholeheartedly. it was beautiful!! i knew with how much i hated Jade in the first 2 books, that’d i learn her story and fall in love with her in her own book and did just that. Jade, Ethan & Elliot have a connection like no other. each character brought something different to the table & it truly amazed me how well they all fit together and balanced eachother out. their story truly was beautiful. their love for one another was real and raw and you could just feel it. the chemistry, banter, sexual tension, the plot..this book had it all. and the spice ?!?? excuse me, i had tear drops going down my legs. they had no reason being THAT fkn sexy, demanding, obsessive, possessive, dominant AND kinky asf.

Jade: i love love love jade & her story broke my heart. she is brash, angry, loud, strong and stubborn. but such a badass. her character growth was amazing, by the end of the book i felt she was an entire different person. i found Jade to be real and raw. i felt so much emotion reading about her trauma and what she went through. Jade is truly one of best FMC i’ve ever read about & def one of my favs now. i loved the vulnerability she brought out in Ethan & Elliot, she had them wrapped around her finger.

Ethan Torres: it’s always the fkn quiet ones that do the kinkiest shit. Ethan is quiet and reserved. his nights are spent brutally murdering those who have done wrong. sooooo basically all the people who even breathed wrong around Jade. i loved Ethan so much.
Elliot Pearson: fkn elliot. he is goofy, charismatic, & manipulative asf. he is in charge of the relationship. it took me a second to truly love Elliot just because of how manipulative he was, especially towards his brother. but i grew to love him so much, he just wanted to be loved and be apart of Jades heart just as much as Ethan was.
they are both unhinged, dark, possessive and obsessive and would do anything & everything for Jade. it was interesting watching two possessive ass men share the one person they loved. but damn did they make it work and made it work too damn good. they are soooo down bad for her.

fav quotes⛓️🩸

“you want to scream his name?…..you’ll be crying mine”

“i love ethan the same way he plays his instruments. so fiercely that my heart can never forget it. he can stop playing for months, if he picks up his guitar, closes his eyes, lies down in bed, his hands will play any music without the slightest effort. that’s how i love him. effortlessly. the muscle that is my heart does it with graceful ease, and i have no control over it”

🩷“did you notice you don’t have a favorite anything?”
💙“you” “you’re my favorite taste. you’re my favorite quote, book, movie, season, holiday. you’re my favorite everything, jade. every experience in life is dull unless you’re there”

“you are a queen, jade. you’re my heaven and hell, my most beautiful salvation”

“i want you to admit you’re a dirty slut who’s going to come with a dick in her mouth and one in her pussy”

“i’m sorry my love is selfish and destructive, but it’s real. you can hardly blame a man for his obsession when his obsession is you”

“you gave him four orgasms, so you give me four. spread your legs and lifts your hips, my love. ethan is going to lick his own cum from your pussy so i can replace it with mine”

Lola King will always be a one click author for me. She has this gift where she’s able to make you hate a character at the beginning of her book but be in love with them by the end. This book was no exception.

I was not Jades biggest fan at the start of this book from having glimpses of her in other books. Being able to see the full story to why she is the way she is and what she went through just broke my heart. She is so strong and endured so much in the best way that she knew how. Seeing her finally let go of her past and embrace these boys was such a journey! I loved it!

Ethan and Elliot are stepbrothers who are both in love with the same woman. They are psycho, possessive, obsessive, touch her and I will unalive you kind of men.
They fall hard for their girl and are never afraid to tell her how beautiful she is, even when she doubts it. Each of them have their own struggle they have to process and boy do they ever.

The twists of this book had my jaw dropping. I thought I knew what was about to happen but I truly had no idea!

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 The spice in this book was so on point! We had a bit of a slow burn at the beginning but when it kicked in, it went from 0 to 60 almost as fast as Jade’s car!

HOLD THE F UP!!!! Can you stop dropping LItERaL perfection? My heart, and ovaries can’t take it. 💀🤣🤤🫠🔥🤪

“You don’t want to know the things I’ve done to make you mine. The jealousy line was crossed, left behind, forgotten.”

First of all, why did you make me fall in love with Jade??!!!?! You know, I’ve obsessively read multiple times all of your books, so, I’m not a stranger. 😮‍💨

And I had some feelings about her prior… 😲
I can’t f****** believe it, but she’s become my favourite FMC. 🥺

I fucking love you, but seriously the kicker to my heart was felt deep! I had sleepless NIGHTs & wrestles days, whenever I couldn’t read this.
Lola King is and will always be my Roman Empire. 😭

“I want you to admit you’re a dirty slut who’s going to come with a dick in her mouth and one in her pussy.”

PS - I knew Ethan would bump Elliot and I tried so hard to be delusional about it. My heart knows better than me, obviously. It prefers the……. (go preorder this badass baby!)

Elliot though - he really put in the effort with the tug of war.

Each character brought something different to the table, and it amazed me how perfectly balanced they became together, because when you have OTT Possessive/unhinged Men, it’s always surprising to see how they’ll interact, let alone share their lady.

Absolute perfection, thank you so much for having me as an arc, and giving me new book boyfriends & girlfriends to obsess over.
I loved it.
It’s a 10/10! A must read & have, just like EVERY other book of yours.

“Delightful Sins” might just be my favorite Lola King book yet!

Delightful Sins tells the story of Ethan and Elliot, who we met in book one, Beautiful Fiend, and saw briefly in book two, Heartless Beloved. These brothers are after their ex-girlfriend Jade, who we have also seen in Beautiful Fiend.

Before getting into the plot, let’s start with the characters. Ethan and Elliot aren’t your typical brothers. They aren’t night and day different, but there is a dichotomy between them. Elliot is the brother who is goofy and charismatic, though don’t let the humor fool you; he is in charge of the relationship. Ethan, on the other hand, is the quiet and reserved one who spends his days inside his head. His nights? Spent brutally torturing those who have done wrong (or who have simply looked at Jade wrong). They are unhinged, dark, and virtually irredeemable characters. Deeply flawed, yet they love as hard as they are broken.

Jade is their perfect match. She is brash, loud, and angry. Her character growth is incredible; she goes through such an intense transformation that by the end of the book she is a completely different woman. It’s been a while since I read book one in the series, so truthfully I didn’t hate her character like I probably would have had I reread the previous book. Nevertheless, I found her character to be real and raw. I felt so much emotion while reading about her and her trauma and I loved that she gave as much as she got. Hands down one of the best FMC’s that King has written. (Side note, I absolutely love her friendship with Alex. Talk about night and day differences!)

Characters aside, this book is so enjoyable. After finding Jade, the brothers bring her back to North Shore where she has to pay off a debt to their gang. Jade is adamant that she isn’t the one at fault, but no one believes her and she has no choice but the submit. Over the course of a few months, Jade grows closer to Ethan and Elliot, and the lines between captive and captor grow blurry. Before she knows it, she’s falling for not just one brother, but two. Unbeknownst to them, Jade is grappling with trauma from years ago, and when the truth is revealed, nothing is the same.

If you’ve read any of King’s work before, you know that the twist is never what you’d expect. Similar to the previous books, I could not predict the ending and was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Calling “Delightful Sins” an incredible book feels like I’m not doing this book justice, truly. If you’re on the hunt for a dark, gritty gang romance where love has no rules, look no further. Ethan and Elliot stole my heart and I know they’ll steal yours, too.

I love this series but I really struggled with this book. I went into it hating Jade for everything she’d done in the previous two books and adoring the brothers, Ethan and Elliot. I ended the book loving Jade and hating Elliot 🙈 I just didn’t like the way he treated and manipulated everyone, but especially his brother.

I adored Ethan and his romance with Jade. I loved seeing side characters such as Xi and Caden. And I adored the crap out of Jade and Alex’s friendship.

Also can we just talk about Ethan and Caden because 👀 why isn’t that a book or a bonus scene because I’d one click the shit outta that.

I really hope love Kay’s book more than this one but over all I’m loving the series so far!!

Lola does it again! Loved Delightful Sins. I’m not going to lie, it took a bit to get into the story; mostly due to my dislike of the FMC Jade from her previous appearance in Beautiful Fiend. But, like all the extremely flawed characters Lola creates - she grew on me.

Her world. Her life. It wasn’t what it seemed and she used her anger, rage and fists to hide how broken she’d become. Jade is the most misunderstood character to date. Elliot is a manipulative psychopath and Ethan is legit a cereal unaliver. Their story is messy and unapologetic - and uniquely theirs.

One of the grittier books in the series, it took me deep into the gang, small-time crime world and wrapped it up with suspense, mystery, and very moving feeling. All bad crime lords, players, and dealers, but when it comes to relationships and even love, there is a reason more to them than their "night-time" job, more to their behavior. Tough-guy, weird-guy (but we won't say it) in search of bad girl, misunderstood girl, vulnerable girl, and like them tough-girl.

I loved delving again into the Kings-North Shore (Wolves / Bratva) world. And with each side, each rivalry, there are characters to love, stories to become consumed. With each book, I find myself rooting for the other side, and then other side with the next book. At end, really hoping for everyone to find their love. That speaks to the great character development and complexity the author created that was very convincing, very entertaining, and captivating.

Ethan and Elliot, both crazy about Jade in their own way whose characters are so distinct -- Ethan, the more reserved, quiet, emotional, and dark: dark nail polish, dark-dyed hair, dark eyes. I imagine him as emo / goth. And Elliot, more easy-going, blond, colossus tall, seemingly unbothered, blithe, yet both scary, both jerks in their own right. Touch her and perish. And like all the tough guys in the North Shore, watch out.

Blond, blue eyed Elliott, visual sunshine and careful words, masks to the lethal, second in command has always adored the self-conscious and insecure Jade. She’s no good girl, but she’d do anything for her first love, the broody, creepy and alluring Ethan. He’s all the bottled up emotions turned serial killer to her forever love. Their push and pull is electric. The chemistry between them, between Elliott and Jade is like a tight rope, a champagne bottle whose corkscrew is on the verge popping.

I loved the dynamic among all three characters, their hidden vulnerabilities and how those played out within the intrigue of the romance and sub-arc. Add that to the electric attraction from page one and subsequent spice, I was hooked to this romantic suspense depicted via multiple, first-person points of view. I also liked the familiar side characters (whose stories I recalled) and viewing them from another perspective. There is always more than what appears at original face value. These stories have the unique quality of making every original enemy redeemable and understandable in some way.

Lots of grammatical errors, e.g., object pronoun as the subject, semicolons instead of colons -- a bit distracting, and I might have liked a tighter story (it was on the longer side), but still a great read. When I consider how the other books in the series integrate creating such complex world and diversity of characters, though they are standalones, I am happy to be consumed and enjoy the ride. Looking forward to the next book.

Now Delightful Sins by Lola King broke the scale of darkness. And coming from a dark romance addict, that should tell you just how much this book rocked my world! Elliot, Ethan and Jade together are freaking insanity! They are broken to a level that would scare you and also...captivate you. This is the kind of savage and deranged and depraved love story that just destroys you heart and demolishes your soul and makes you wonder..are you OK?

Elliot and Ethan are brothers and complete opposite. Both are part of the Kings who rule the North Shore. Both have been brought up in violence and mayhem and now part of the crew that rules it all. Jade is the girl who ran away after betraying the crew and also...them. They have found her and they won't stop till they get revenge. Or is it their crazy obsession about that broken fierce girl?

This book is full of triggers so please please read responsibly and look for the trigger warnings. Elliot and Ethan are antihero in extreme ways. Elliot is the master manipulator. He doesn't know how to make Jade fall for him in normal way because let's face it..none of them are normal at all. So he manipulates, plans, twists and kills. AND WHY IS THAT SUCH A TURN ON? Seriously I have issues. I mean there should be nothing endearing about his psycho plans but my heart is like oh my look how obsessed he is with Jade. He does some really strongly unforgivable things but like Jade, I forgive him. Watching the girl he loved falling for his brother over and over again is not easy. Now Ethan is even more psycho than him. How is it possible? He has so much untamed violence and rage inside him that scares me..and Jade is the only one who can calm his monsters. He is possessive to the infinity and he would literally kill every single person hurting Jade. Now only someone bada&& and broken like Jade would fit these guys. My heart was repeatedly shredded into tiny pieces for her. She has been used, abused, hurt, deceived and torn apart so many times. Her pain is brutal. The men she loved were not easy on her either. She did hurt them too. This is toxic love at its best and I freaking love it. The author delivers all the angst, all the tension, all the gut wrenching soul rending feels in every page. This is not an easy happily ever after. And let's talk about the sex. Oh my k1nky dirty talk heaven! There was fireworks, nuclear explosions and waterfalls...IYKYK. This is one of the hottest book I have read this year! The action and suspense was amazing! I was biting my nail and I was on the edge. Jade, Elliot and Ethan had a sea of emotional wars to go through and I am left bruised and battered..

Overall Opinion :
Jade is here! I have been a bit tentative about reading her as a main female lead but picked this one up because I just had to know what happened to her , Ethan and Elliot. Their chemistry had been visible right from the start and by the end of book one, I knew they would have the best enemies to lovers trope.

The plot line for this was crazy and I will admit I did not see that coming. This one did make me thaw a bit for Jade but then her and Billy hurt each other equally so the slate is clear now. This one had some great revenge themes and the storyline kept me hooked to the very end. We have a lot of character cameos that made me fall in with these characters even more. Apart from that the one thing that kept me hooked in this book was the plot twists and the dynamic between these two. It was just completely addictive. With the way the story turned out, I knew we would get more stories about the side characters and I am so excited to read them!

Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there.

***5 "Mi Cielo!!!" stars***

"Why would we kill you when we can make you suffer?"

I am addicted to Lola King's world!!! I am addicted to this war between the NSC and the Kings!!!
I am addicted to all these crazy and fucked up characters and I was craving the brothers' turn!!!
The truth is that I wasn't very fond of Jade since I disliked her very much in the first book, but the author made me see her in a different light and I liked what I saw...
Honestly, I was very scared to enter this story cause when they are involved more than two people in a situation, it feels weird for me, but Lola King has structured this story so beautifully and it wasn't anything like I was expecting!!! The only thing that counts is that I freakin' loved and this story of the North Shore stories and I never want to stop reading about this wild and sinister world without morals and hesistations...

"You can't let anyone see your weakness in this town, they'll eat you alive."

Elliot and Ethan were stepbrothers and they were both in love with the same girl...
A girl that ran away two years ago... A girl that they never stopped searching...
And after all this time apart, they are so close to bring her back into their lives...
But this time, they are determined to make her suffer for what she did back then...
Jade is about to pay for all of her sins...
But things are not always as they seemed from both sides and the surprises were coming in a rapid rhythm our way...
At the same time, many things were happening around them... and they were making my blood boiling while I was reading them...

"You should have stayed away. Your days are numbered, Tick Tock."

Jade wasn't an easy girl to please and love... She was angry, but she had her reasons...
Unfortunately, with her crazy and irrational attitude, no one was trusting or believing her and that was making her even more furious...
She had a soft spot for both brothers...
Ethan was the boy she never stopped loving and longing, and Elliot was a man who could satisfy her very much... Both of them were making her heart beat wildly, but she had her reasons to stay away from North Shore...
Unfortunately, these two men are determined to break her in the name of revenge and she can not do anything about that...

"I made a deal with the devil, and I've paid the price every day since."

I liked so much these three!!!
To be honest here, I was a little bit more on Ethan's team than Elliot's, especially in the beginning, but neither of them was a saint...
I liked the way Ethan was loving aand protecting Jade, but no one can deny that Elliot's crazy and possessive ways weren't a huge turn on...
Yes, they put Jade in so much trouble, but she was a lucky girl to have these two fierce men by her side...
And yes, Jade was a revelation in here... She managed to turn my dislike of her in love and I can not deny it!!!

"I'm sorry my love is selfish and destructive, but it's real. You can hardly blame a man for his obsession when his obsession is you."

Lola King is such an amazing and very talented storyteller...
Yes, her stories are dark, twisted and have a ton of triggers in the side, but I have love fiercely every single one of these stories and I don't want to ever stop reading them...
She is making me scared to enter her world, but when I am stepping my feet inside, I don't want to exit ever again!!!
If you like dark themed romance stories with twists, sexiness and unredeemable characters who will become an unhealthy obsession, you must enter Lola's world with your own risk. It will worth it!!! Trust me!!!

"I'm an offender ready to die and burn in hell for my sins, especially when they're so delightful."

A woc having a collar around her and calling her boyfriends who are one and half white men “yes master”…..? Please leave poc alone 😭

On the upside Rose my princess I missed her so muchhh and I love that her, Jade and Alex are in a trio my princesses.

That’s the only good thing about the book btw. Because I skipped every “yes master” and there was far more than you would think!

I strongly disliked Jade in the first book.
But this was definitely a redemption book.
We saw what made Jade Jade.

The brothers were definitely uniquely different.
Very touch her and ☠️ vibes.
