In fact, I can barely tell when someone is flirting with me. I've been focused no football and school for way too long and somewhere along the way I missed out on all the normal relationship stuff my friends did.
Now I'm a junior in college, and I've only ever kissed one girl in my whole life.
Until Autumn.
And for some reason, she wants to help me out. Be my love tutor, she says.
The thought of taking her up on her offer makes me want to incinerate from embarrassment ...
But if I don't, I might miss my only chance to catch up.
The Love Playbook is a standalone love tutor romance featuring a shy, straight-laced football player and the off beat woman who turns his world upside down. HEA guaranteed!
Jerica MacMillan has been reading romance since she stumbled into the paperback section of the library as a middle schooler. And it's been an ongoing love affair ever since!

This was my first read by this author! I am always up for inexperienced heroes since it’s so rare to find, especially with a more experience heroine. I really liked Jackson, he was so sweet and he made the book for me. I loved watching him grow more confident!
Autumn was fun, she did start to get a bit on my nerves though I could understand where she was coming from with her history with divorced parents.
I hadn’t read any books by this author, but there are several mentions to other characters and couples. It took me out a couple times just because it happened one too many times.
I didn’t care for Jackson’s friend and roommate Eli, I didn’t like how he spoke about Autumn and was soooo glad when Jackson finally called him out. He has his own book seemingly coming so that’ll be interesting.
There are some parts I wish had been more expanded upon. There are only a few dates mentioned and then everything else centers around teaching Jackson sex. Those parts were well written and I did enjoy them, but I’d love to have a bit more of them outside of the bedroom before feelings started to become more involved.
Overall, a really solid read with solid characters!
Jackson is so inexperienced that he has no idea that girls are flirting with him when they giggle around him, caress him, and generally act interested. Asking his sister about it was embarrassing as hell, but she confirmed the idea for him. Now he has to decide if he's going to take Autumn up on her offer to help him, be his love tutor or not. He's not sure what to do or if she's even still interested in tutoring him any longer. Will taking her up on her offer be the best move he's ever made, or will it end up with him being heartbroken?
Autumn does not do relationships, commitment or love. She is who she is and lives her life the way she wants. When she is attracted to someone, she does something about it, all without feelings involved. Then Jackson happened to her, or should I say, she happened to Jackson. Offering to teach him the ways of pleasure and dating (even though she doesn't really date) seems like a good idea. The guy is so gorgeous but so clueless that he was begging for her to help him out. But will she be the one who catches feelings this time? Or will she allow her past to color her behavior and hurt the guy she only wanted to help?
The Love Playbook is sweet and fun, and Jackson is about the most adorable sweetheart I've read in a long time. I don't read a lot of virgin hero stories but I'm really glad I read this one because I loved it. They had great chemistry and were cute together. I was a little upset with Autumn near the end, but considering she had some pretty bad role models, she got a pass. I can't wait for the next college story from Jerica now.

Jackson is the quiet guy who keeps to himself, doesn’t know when a girl is flirting with him nor does he know how to flirt back. Enter Autumn the carefree spirit that offers to be his love guru of sorts. She lives her life on her own terms, never looking for commitment, and the friendliest person ever. When Autumn notices how shy and awkward Jackson is when girls try to come up to him she offers to teach him all the ways to flirt, date, and more. When they start their sessions Autumn states no catching feelings but when they explore their intimate sides Jackson can’t help how he feels towards her. Where do they go from here? Can Autumn let go of the guy who sees her and is slowly breaking her walls down? Can Jackson show her that their feelings are real and they are nothing like her parents? These two are opposites but fit so well, but Autumn fights these feelings and it was a tad frustrating because sweet Jackson really cared for her but she shrugged him off time and time again. For the most part I enjoyed Autumn, but towards the end her cynical thoughts are pushed on her friends when Ellie is right she was the one pushing everyone together so for Autumn to say they are all doomed was really crappy. I think I was just super protective of our lovable Jackson so I wanted the absolute best for him and at times (not all the time just some) I wasn’t sure if that was Autumn or not. Eventually I saw Autumn and her fears as what she went through watching those close to her hurt and I understood that she never really got over this and it manifested into this pushing every relationship away which made me sympathize with her a little more. Overall this was a great read about opposites and overcoming fears to find happiness.
My first from this author and overall I really enjoyed it! The Love Playbook has a very unique kind of premise in which the heroine teaches our hero all the ways to please a woman. Autumn takes on Jackson's plight since he is way too shy around girls and needs that push to realize his potential with the opposite sex. Starting out as friends, Jackson is all kinds of shocked at first at how Autumn guides him to touch her all the while also showing him how to talk and act around a woman. They have dates that inevitably lead to a goodnight kiss that leaves both wanting more, something very surprising for both of them.
MacMillan gives Autumn a neat kind of personality that is one of a free spirit of sorts. I loved that she didn't care what others thought of her and lived her college life the way she wanted to. Her prior reputation as being a 'jersey chaser' within the school's football team was laid to rest as Jackson falls for Autumn and realizes there is much more underneath her wild persona than anyone gave her credit for. Both are caught off guard by their intense feelings that seemed to build almost overnight and Autumn's hesitation to get involved with anyone permanently almost ruins what she and Jackson could have together.
Good friends provide great advice and some times of tension that honestly do help with Autumn and Jackson coming to the realization that they are more than just teacher and student. That their chemistry is undeniable and that they simply belong together.
I will say that the story flowed well for the most part although there were moments where I felt as if the author could've dug a bit deeper into Autumn and Jackson's thoughts a bit more. There was a certain 'dry' aspect to her writing that had me skimming a few of the scenes that didn't add much to the story, truth be told. However, I do understand that the heart of the book was about Autumn showing Jackson the ropes so to speak when it came to overcoming his struggles with women and that was executed well.
An easy kind of read with a fresh kind of premise, I happily give The Love Playbook 4 stars!
3.5 stars - Loved the cover and loved the blurb, but I didn’t enjoy this as much as I anticipated.
"I've never been with a guy as inexperienced as him, and the prospect of turning him into the perfect lover is a huge turn on."
Jackson Lancaster is a gorgeous, nerdy jock who blushes as easily as a virgin, and is clueless about dating and flirting. When the very experienced and free-spirited Autumn Mills first offers to be his 'love tutor', he is mortified. However, at 20YO, he knows he needs to do something about his lack of experience. What starts out as lessons of sorts, starts to feel scarily real and has Autumn almost regretting her offer.
"I know she feels something for me. There's no way what we have could be this amazing without a deeper connection."
I don't really know why I struggled with this book. Was it sexy? Yes. Was it somewhat angsty? Yes. Did I like the characters? Adored Jackson and I thought Autumn was fun and unapologetically herself. Both characters had a bit of emotional baggage to deal with before they could really move forward. I found the first half of the book a bit slow but I enjoyed the second half more. Just an OK read for me.
Jackson is on the college football team and is pretty shy and inexperienced with the girls. When he is offered help by someone he knows he doesn’t know what to do, then he decides to take her up on her offer. Is this a big mistake? Can this really work? Autumn is a it is what it is kind of girl. When she noticed that Jackson could use someone’s help with the girls she decided to volunteer her time. Of course this did not work out as she had planned. This was a cute quick read. The meddling friends, young hormones and every day college Shenanigans made this story entertaining. Autumn and Jackson were completely opposite people with a great connection. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I loved this book and I just loved Jackson's character. I always think guys like him are so adorable to read. He's definitely my favourite part of the story. Especially when Autumn makes him blush. He kind of reminds me of CK from Off the Bench by Alley Ciz but a more innocent version. He and Autumn make the cutest couple too. Not sure why Autumn thinks it's a good thing to teach him about women and dating without falling for the guy herself. Their chemistry and connection are off the charts too. Definitely loved seeing their relationship shifts and grows.
The virgin Hero trope is so good ahh! It’s such a rare find and I need more of it. This was a cute read with good spice and an adorable hero.
Jackson was so sweet and innocent, he’s a literal teddy bear!! I loved him and I loved watching his confidence grow throughout the book. I also enjoyed Autumn’s character. She’s confident and goes after what she wants! She did annoy me a little when she was pushing Jackson away, but I can understand why she did it. Autumn and Jackson had so much chemistry, even from the beginning. I loved them together!
I do wish there was an epilogue about them at the end though, that would have really wrapped things up well. I crave a good epilogue!
When I saw that this book was about a virgin football player I was HOOKED. We rarely get books with the hero as the virgin/inexperienced one in the relationship. It's a trope I enjoy reading because I love to see the hero learn from the heroine. This book delivers on that end and Jackson and Autumn were so fun to read about. I loved seeing their relationship develop from a friendship and you could really feel their connection. They had me tearing up at some points because they were just so cute together.
Jackson is the biggest sweetheart and cinnamon roll ever. He's shy and inexperienced when it comes to relationships, but he wants to learn. In walks Autumn, a friend that is experienced and offers to help teach him all things love and sex. He's nervous because his mom made him scared of getting someone pregnant, but he trusts Autumn to help him. I could not get over how much of a sweetheart he was throughout the whole book (the blushing 😍). Jackson so clearly had a crush on Autumn, but he was afraid to let himself admit that because of the fears his mom put in him. Once they started their sessions, you could see him opening up more and trusting his feelings. I love that he went from being shy and inexperienced, to saying some very dirty things and driving Autumn wild in the best way 😏
Autumn was a fun heroine and the perfect match for Jackson. Where he is shy and inexperienced, Autumn is confident and open about her experiences. I absolutely loved how much she respected his boundaries. She understood a specific act was a hard limit for him and respected that. She never pushed him to do something he didn't want to do and checked in with him throughout their sessions. I understood her apprehension to relationships, but I wanted to shake her when she was self sabotaging.
This book really brought the spice! I don't know why, but it surprised me a little with how spicy it is, but you won't hear me ever complain about a book being too spicy 😉 The fact that Jackson is a virgin amped up the spiciness because you knew it was his first time for everything.
I enjoyed this book a ton. I didn't rate it five stars because it felt like it needed more. The pacing was pretty good, but I wish we would've had more of Jackson and Autumn outside of the bedroom. Since Autumn is his love tutor, I expected her to push him to practice his flirting more and other elements of dating with her. If we had gotten a little more of them as a couple, that would've elevated the book for me. I still really enjoyed this book and couldn't stop smiling when I was reading it.
Thank you to Jerica MacMillan and Grey's Promotions for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review!
A huge thanks to @jericamacmillan & @greyspromo for sending me an eARC in exchange for an honest review🏈
My love for sports romance started with the Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy. As I read The Love Playbook, my inner fangirl for sports romance surged again!!
This book has all the cuteness, spice and everything nice😏. When I read this type of trope, I usually gush over the MC because he’s hot, cool, plays nice etc. BUT here, Jackson is soooooo adorable!!!! HE EASILY BLUSHES!!!! He’s like a walking teddy bear which turns red whenever he feels shy🙈
The plot is great, Jackson is naïve when it comes to girls because growing up, his sister got pregnant at an early age without the full support of the father. So their mom kept telling him to be careful or he might impregnate somebody. So, Autumn offers Jackson to be his tutor & teach him the ways to seduce a girl and be confident in himself. He didn’t easily loosen up with her but he was willing to learn😏. It’s great because It wasn’t insta love or that they fell for each other because of their lessons. Jackson really had a crush on her and as their sessions progressed, so did Autumn.
I loved the friendship this story has, Autumn’s friends really helped her open up to want she wants and be happy. She’s afraid of relationships because her parents divorced when she was still young, so she kept thinking that she doesn’t deserve love and to be loved. Her friends, especially Ellie really played a great role in advising her to live to the moment and give her & Jackson a chance of love.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this. No doubt a 5 ★ rating and oozing with spice🌶! The plot wasn’t dragging at all and it’s very interesting. I would totally recommend this. Now I can’t wait how Dani & Eli’s story will unfold👀🏈🧡
𝗘𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 Based on my rating, OF COURSE I LOVE IT!!!
𝗦𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 I love the flow, it was easy to comprehend & it wasn’t dragging. As I neared the end, I wished there was more😭 I miss Jackson & Autumn soooo much!!!
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 The characters are so nice. I love both the mc as well as the others. It didn’t only focus on them both but also in friendship, trust, love, confidence, self importance.
If I could describe Jackson & Autumn, it would be; Jackson - adorable, shy, naïve, hoOooT Autumn - fun, talkative, easy to be with, gorgeous
𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 I got sad when they broke up (even tho they weren’t a couple lol). It was pretty obvious that Autumn also loved him but was only holding back. Thanks to Ellie, she gave them both a chance & learned to be more open to her feelings and commitment. I love the ending!! The epilogue was a cliffhanger because it was Dani’s pov & now I can’t wait for Dani & Eli’s story!!!!!
The Love Playbook is a steamy love tutor romance with a inexperienced, shy football player who blushes at the drop of a hat and the confident, sexy free spirit who helps him learn the art of seduction. The Love Playbook is Autumn and Jackson's very steamy and addictive story. Autumn has been observing Jackson for a while now and doesn't understand why he doesn't take the many girls up on their offer for a night of fun and why he seems so oblivious to their advances. Drunk at a party one night, Autumn can't help but ask Jackson all the burning questions she has and is surprised by his answer...he's a virgin. Shocked by his revelation Autumn offers to help him become more confident with being around women and to introduce him to the wonderful world of sex! Of course Jackson is taken back by Autumn's offer but he needs the help and who better person to help him than a friend who he finds extremely attractive. "I'm still not sure what possessed me to take Autumn up on her offer, but I'm really glad I did. For so many reasons." Before anything can happen, Autumn needs to know Jackson's limits and why he has abstained for so long. The reason again shocking her...he doesn't want to risk getting anyone pregnant. Disappointed that they won't be able to have sex, she realises there are many different things they can do. Set with the game plan, Autumn will teach Jackson nearly everything she knows and get him to be more confident and comfortable around women and after they go back to being friends. What could possibly go wrong? Read The Love Playbook to find out! I enjoyed The Love Playbook and Autumn and Jackson and their friends are great characters and I cannot wait for the next book! I received an arc of The Love Playbook and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
#theloveplaybook is the next book coming out by @jericamacmillan. This is my first book by this author.
Jackson is a great guy. He’s smart, a good friend and genuinely cares for others. But when it comes to women, he is totally lost. He doesn’t understand when or why they flirt with him, never dating or having any physical contact with them, he just sticks to himself. He befriends a girl he’s partnered up with in class and she offers to be his love coach. This puts him off for a bit, until the fall when he’s ready. Can he put aside his anxiety and try out dating and start a real college experience or is it too much for him and adds unnecessary pressure to his plate?
Autumn has her quirks. She likes to do her own thing, sex being one of them. She lets everyone know the score before the games begin. Seeing Jackson with others, she feels bad and wants to help in a way she knows how. Being a love/ sex coach is how she knows she can. But can she mold him to be the perfect partner for someone else or is he going to be the one to break her walls down?
For my first book by this author, I enjoyed it. It took me a little to get into it, but when I did, I enjoyed it. I liked that the FMC was the one showing the MMC the ropes of sex and relationships. I also love that there was a good amount with the side characters and football. Let me tell you, there’s plenty of heat in this book! I think it’s a fun, steamy and entertaining read. I’d absolutely recommend it.
The Love Playbook by Jerica MacMillan is the 4th book in what I like to think of as the Marycliff U 2.0 series. This friends to lovers story is filled with heat, humor, emotional hang-ups and well more heat.
3.5 stars
I adored sweet, shy and adorably flustered Jackson when I first met him in Unrivaled. He is a textbook cinnamon roll hero- even if it took a bit to get to that spicy side of him. Autumn is fun, independent and free spirited and determined to break Jackson out of his shell. These two are like Yin and Yang- they kind of complete each other where they each are lacking. Autumn is chaos while Jackson is calm and regimented, he is shy where she is bold and in a fun twist he is the inexperienced virgin and she the more knowledgeable "tutor".
Overall, while I enjoyed Autumn and Jackson, this story isn't my favorite of the group. It's entertaining and pretty low angst and definitely packs a punch with all the sexy times- I kind of wanted a bit more. I felt like there were some things I knew as the reader since we get the inner dialogue of the characters but it was never addressed between Jackson and Autumn and it should have. And for as shy and quick to embarrass as Jackson was I kind of wished he fumbled a little more as he was exploring with Autumn.
I am glad to see these two finding their HEA and can't wait for Dani (& Eli!) next!
I don’t usually care for college romance because most of the ones I’ve read are either immature or like this one, lacking in the HEA/closure. Without direct spoilers, this seems to be an HFN not a true HEA since the epilogue is for the next book and not Jackson and Autumn and while that may change if I go onto read the next story, this is advertised as a standalone and an HEA and I didn’t feel like that’s how it was actually written.
As far as the characters go, I did not like Ellie (bff) at all. Even if she was worried about Autumn she didn’t act like it and instead sounded judgmental and jealous. But that also adds to my earlier statement about lacking epilogues because this book mentions how both Ellie and Piper both had boyfriends who had played with the other guys before being drafted so I’m assuming based on another review I read that they had their own books yet no updates on them and it seems they’re doing long distance but nothing is ever mentioned about them seeing their bf’s or ever talked about them.
So overall, I liked the way it was flipped to the H being the virgin unlock how so many other authors write the H to be a playboy while the h is the innocent virgin. However I don’t like how Autumn was $!ut shamed by her friends and the guys. But the story was cute and I really liked Jackson.
Who’s tutoring who… The Love Playbook by Jerica MacMillan is a wonderful new adult romance in a college setting. Autumn seems way mature for her age as does Jackson, though for entirely different reasons. These characters are as night and day as any opposites couple I’ve ever read, yet they are also very good friends. The foundation of friendship leads to feelings and connection, making all the love lessons very meaningful and especially hot. These two have real chemistry that burns hotter with each encounter. This inspires one with hope and scares the other to pieces. The plot has sweetheart Jackson as a very quick study for all of Autumn’s lessons. In fact, at times he is even a little heartbroken, but knows there is something real. Overall, Jackson starts off getting tutored and then becomes the teacher and Autumn’s heart can no longer resist. I really enjoyed how this author took these characters through this journey of discovery, not only of each other, but of themselves. All that along with some encouragement and wise words from friends, gives Autumn the courage to open herself to a loving relationship with Jackson that has wonderful and promising potential for a HEA. I read an ARC of this book via Grey’s Promotions and voluntarily share my review.
This book is absolutely the hottest of Jerica MacMillan's books I've ever read. Jackson is so adorable with his innocence and shyness. And while Autumn may has her own issue with a commitment, I think I understand why Autumn feels a need to help him experience with sexual encounters. And I totally understand Autumn's issue with a commitment because I used to think like her at one point. My heart aches for her so it is emotional for me. I may have come to my sense on my own but Autumn has her friends to help her see the light so I like that she has her friends taking care of her. The story is entertaining with Jackson's inexperience, quite intense and comes across bully with his friends' POV about Autumn, and steamy with all their sexual encounters. Most books I read rarely have a virgin hero so it's surprisingly hot to read a confident heroine guides a hero to pleasure her. The book can be read as a stand-alone but it is set in Marycliff University like her another previous books so I recommend you to read them before or at least "Unrivaled" so you would get some ideas how Autumn and Jackson develop their relationship. For me, this book is friends (with benefits) to lovers romance and I enjoy reading Jackson finally comes out of his shell. Can't wait for Dani's book next!
It is Jackson’s time to shine at Marycliff as he is now the first string wide receiver .. even though he shines in the football field he isn’t shining with the girls. He is shy and awkward around girls, he isn’t as confident as he is on the football field and Autumn has always noticed that. So when she suggests last year she be his sex tutor he knows he wants more from her this year !! It might star5 out as tutoring BUT we all know feeling ALWAYS get involved and someone is going to get hurt ….
Can these two build on there friendship while not listen to anyone else’s comments and input ?? Will college, family and friends get in the way of these two finding there own happiness or will life throw them a curveball and either break them up for good or will happiness be felt by ALL !!
These two need not to listen to anyone else but them selves and the crystals to get what they both want and need .. LOVE !! They are both strong individuals that just need to keep there ears closed and there eyes in each other !! I loved there friendship, chemistry and attitudes !! So awesome and fun to read !!
Ah, I love a virgin hero. Mix it with an athlete trope and of course, I have to read it!
Jackson doesn’t know how to act when he’s surrounded by women, in fact, he doesn’t even know how to flirt or recognize when somebody is flirting with him. So he needs help. Luckily, Autumn steps up to show him everything about relationships.
They have lessons together but Autumn is adamant that this will not lead to an actual relationship.
I love how Jackson become more confident with each lesson they had together. Even though he’s inexperienced he soon starts to loosen up and show Autumn what he liked. He feels something from her since the beginning.
I liked Autumn too and I don’t mind that she’s much more experienced than he is but I did not like the fact that she slept with ”half of the team”. I always wondered if the guy that was briefly mentioned shared a bed with her and which member of the team was her one-night stand. I would be much more comfortable if the men she had sex with weren’t players from Jackson’s team. I mean, it’s not mentioned if she really did have sex with them but the fact that it was casually mentioned she slept with so many people made me wonder how much is true. Also, when she set her eyes on Jackson part of me wondered if he was just a project to her because he was so indifferent to women and her and she looked at him as a challenge. So it took me quite some time to believe she does actually have feelings for him.
I do like that Jackson wasn’t bothered by how many people she slept with. However, as I said, I did wish he was a little jealous of all the guys that came before him (at least the players).
Otherwise, very steamy and delicious till the last page.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4 out of 5. ARC was provided via Grey’s Promotions in exchange for an honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ A s*xy college football player who hasn't kissed or touched a girl since 8th grade. Is that even possible? This is a new take on the shy college virgin romance.
Jackson is definitely the hot shy introverted big brained engineer major and then you meet Autumn the hippie crystal and tarot card reading hot mess that turns out to be the greatest thing to happen to him since that one and only 8th grade kiss.
I understand teen pregnancy scares. And unprotected sex talks but scaring and scarring are different things. Poor Jackson has been traumatized by repeated lectures after his sister's teen pregnancy.
Thank goodness Autumn likes to help others. She wants to help you be your best self. And seeing that he doesn't even recognize girls flirting she decides to take matters into her own hands literally.
The story unfolds from there. It starts out as an arrangement but we all know how those things go and well you need to read it for yourself to get juicy details. And they are indeed juicy.
Jackson and Autumn are so cute together. It was a really nice change that the guy wasn't a playboy ... that the girl was the one with all the experience. The banter between the characters flows really good and the situations had me laughing out loud. Then there's tutor sessions ... very HOT! This is a great addition to the series and I can't wait for Dani and Eli's story next!
Jackson is very shy and blushes at just about everything because he has no experience in dating ... like none at all. He hasn't even kissed a girl since 8th grade. So, when Autumn offers to be his love tutor, he agrees because he knows that she has lots of experience as he's heard the stories from the other football players about her. Stories aside, he likes her and knows she has a soft heart underneath her flighty exterior. All he has to do is keep his heart out of it.
I received an early copy courtesy of Grey's Promotions in exchange for a honest review.
Jackson is the perfect package as not only is he smart, but he is a football player as well. He doesn’t understand his appeal towards the opposite sex due to circumstances in the past. When Autumn offers to guide him both when it comes to dating and physical intimacy it seems like the answer to his problems but abiding by her rules may be the biggest challenge of all.
Autumn is single and due to her past intends to stay that way. She has offered to help Jackson with the caveat that they are friends and what they share is casual. When the feelings deepen between them will she realize that the risk of being with him is worth the reward before it is too late?
The characters were unique, the buildup to their relationship was timed perfectly and there was just enough conflict to make things interesting. There is also a great group of secondary characters that add to the story.

This is my first time reading Jerica MacMillan. It isn’t often that I read a story where the hero is the virgin so I was intrigued from the beginning. Even with the rolls reversed, I found the major plot points to be similar to other books with this trope. This book has another pitfall that seems to be shared by its reversed counterparts, so much steam with a less than desirable amount of relationship building at any point. It gave the story an overall shallow feel. It isn’t terrible by any stretch, just not what I personally like in a virgin trope book.
Jackson is honestly one of my favorite book boyfriends of 2022. Autumn however was not my favorite character. I understand why she is the way she is, but she grated on my nerves. Again, this is a personal peeve of mine and may not bother you like it did me.
The Love Playbook is a hot sports romance by Jerica MacMillan.
I have mixed feelings about this one. It took me a while to like Autumn. I appreciate how open she is about sex and how quirky she is. But I felt a little weird about her proposition. I just found her to be pushy, until I read more.
Once I was over that issue, the story grew on me. Autumn and Jackson are great together.
Poor Jackson is so clueless about girls. I just love him! Having Autumn as his love tutor, making the first move, and then more moves, is exactly what he needed. And let's just say that everything that follows in hot!
And in the end, Autumn discovers that Jackson is just what she needs to let her heart open to love.
This is a tale with plenty of college fun, first times, and some great returning secondary characters.
The Love Playbook is a fun college sports romance. This Jerica MacMillan book is sweet and a great way to pass the time with a New Adult romance.
The Love Playbook is a fun read. You have Autumn who is a free spirit and is more than what she seems. Jackson is the biggest sweetheart ever. Jackson has had his blinders on when it comes to women forever and with reason. Autumn is up for the challenge of teaching Jackson what she knows so he can feel comfortable dating. The virgin and his temptress. The chemistry is red hot when it comes to Autumn and Jackson. They are different but they make so much sense. You feel for Autumn and her view on relationships. You feel for Jackson when it comes to his view on sex. There are a few slow moments in this one, but it really makes up for it when it all comes together in the end. I love Autumn and Jackson together. They both go through some big changes, and I love how close they become. You are going to have so much fun reading this one. Go one click it today.
Another Amazing book by Jerica Macmillan. I realy enjoyed this story between Jackson and Autumn,it was really intriguing that Autumn was more experienced and confident than Jackson, and volunteers her time to help him with his inexpeience....Jackson is adorable, I loved his vunerabilty it made me just love him and want to hug him. This is a sexy ,delightful read and I loved the friendship of sorts that developed between Autumn and Jackson and the way it evolved into something more for them both. Jerica Macmillan always writes addictive young adult sports romances, they are always filled with angst, drama, steam and romance. They have All the right ingredients of being young and the awkwardness of falling in love. The Love Playbook has all this and more and I relished every moment of being in this world with these characters. An Amazing story that I highly recommend. 5 Stars.
This book was different with the girl having all the experience and the boy having none.
Jackson has never been with a girl, he has only kissed one girl in his life, so his friend Autumn decides to tutor him in love so he will be prepared for his next relationship. Of course feelings develop between the two but what do you do when the girl you loves swears off relationships??
This book had a lot of good moments. I loved how confident Jackson got towards the end and was no longer the shy, blushing boy anymore. But, I did not like how everyone talked about Autumn and how she was just a jersey chaser. I am glad that Jackson stood up for her, but it got brought up more times than I liked. I also wish we had more scenes with them getting to know one another, versus just in the bedroom.
Oh wow this is such a brilliant read. Jackson and Autumn have always been friendly towards each other but se as noticed that he struggles talking to other girls and she knows that she can help him. Jackson doesn't accept her offer at first but in the end decides its his best option and he likes Autumn. I loved how they were together and that under her careful instructions he soon takes the lead but she is always pulling back from him so he doesn't get too close. When feelings leave him wanting more will she admit her feelings or push him away. Plenty of drama and so much emotion but can they get their HEA wth her constantly pulling away. Can't wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
The love playbook was an adorable sports romance about two opposites that definitely attracted each other.
Autumn is a strong female character that is sexually confident and goes for what she wants. Jackson is a shy athlete who is awkward around the opposite sex.
Autumn offers to help him by having them pretend to date while they explore the chemistry that is building between them. Their love story is simply beautiful.
What starts with awkward conversations and awkward firsts turns into something something so pure, raw and passionate.
This is my first book from Jerica MacMillan and I’m so excited to see what she comes out with next. The Love Playbook is now available!
Jackson is shy and reserved. He may be a football player, but he is far from playing women. Autumn enjoys being promiscuous and therefore, is intrigued by Jackson. After working together on a class project, these two become friends and it is easy to hang out as they run in the same circle of friends. Jackson’s innocence and inexperience has peaked Autumn’s curiosity. She is ready to become his teacher and show him how to respond to women when they are showing interest in him.
I enjoyed how Autumn showed Jackson what she likes and even how to ask a woman out. This story is fun and completely different. The reversed roles of inexperienced was fun and refreshing. I encourage you to grab The Love Playbook as the dual point of view completes the story.
