Love Like Her

Rate this book
USA TODAY Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa charms readers in this romantic comedy that’s whimsical and fun.

Eros Brassard and I met at JFK years ago while trying to catch two different planes. We had an instant connection that was too powerful to deny. Love happened, and we hooked up.

After our crazy romp, we agreed we couldn’t be together. We live too far away to make it work. Yet ever since, destiny has brought us together. Our paths have crossed so many times it’s obvious fate has intervened in our lives.

But there’s always something else—or someone else—getting in the way. Until now.

I’m hired to plan the wedding of Eros’ best friend, Misty. He thought Misty was the one who got away… until I walked in.

Will circumstances push us apart again?

Or is it the perfect time… maybe… for us to finally admit the truth?

Love Like Her is a funny rom-com of fated lovers and cute crushes. This warm novel that’s cozy and flirty portrays a perfect ending of second—or third—or fourth—chances.

Love Like Her is book three in the Against All Odds series by Claudia Burgoa. I have loved the first two books in this series, meeting Percy and Nyx Brassard. Now it’s their older brother, Eros’s turn to get his story.

When we first meet Eros Brassard in this book, he’s twenty three years old and is finishing up grad school in New York. He’s a young man with big ideas, ready to pay his dues working long hours behind a desk. He’s at the airport when he first sees her, a beautiful young woman whose flight was canceled due to the snow storm as was his. She has no where to go. He somehow convinces her to trust him and their lives are changed. But they are both young. They have many roads to travel, so when their time is up, they part ways, leaving everything up to fate. And fate, or you could call it serendipity, has many plans for them.

“Is there such a thing as being compatible with a perfect stranger?”

Olivia Sierra was so young when she first met Eros. He changed her life in so many ways. She never forgot him and couldn’t have been more thrilled when they crossed paths again a few years later. Over the years, this became their norm. Either fate had a hand, or they sought each other out in the lowest points of their lives. But somehow they always found their way to each other, but always, their time had an expiration date as they returned to their lives.

When Olivia finally finds herself working in the same city as Eros, they haven’t communicated in awhile, each thinking the other one finally got tired of their situation. When they do find each other, it’s in the worst of circumstances. Overbearing sisters and general chaos ensues as they try to figure things out. Is this finally their chance? Or has all the years, all the miles separating them, finally taken their toll?

This story kind of broke my heart. These two were so clearly supposed to be together but it was just never the right time for them. I had to keep telling myself that their time would come but my heart wasn’t listening. I love the Brassard family and all their quirkiness. They love each other with all they have. Sometimes too much! This was a sexy, sweet, sad at times story of two people meant to be together when their timing was finally right.

“It’s taken too long to get to her, but knowing that she’s at the end of this journey, I’ll walk this path without hesitation.”

To be honest, I picked this book up to see, what happens with the sister of the hero, Callie, who was a secondary character in the previous books and I was curious if she would have her own book... Ha. Without spoiling anything, the answer is No, which is pity because I'd love to read it... Anyway, this was a heartwarming, feel-good read, I enjoyed the story, but the first two books in the series remain my favorite.

"Is there such a thing as being compatible with a perfect stranger?"

A Cute & Sexy story of Fun Meets, Highs & Lows of life, Missed Chances, Star-crossed/Fated Lovers, Emotions so great, Lots of Steam, Fighting for Love & Getting their HEA.
This was my 1st book in this series & I'll definitely check the others out. Even grabbed the 1st one (Wrong Text, Right Love) as it was Free at the time. I loved Eros' Crazy family & their Beautiful bond! Olivia's Parents were Great in their own way too. I read this book within 6hrs, throughout 2days!

Eros is the Eldest brother & is Charming, Risk-Taker & Overall Really Sweet. Olivia is an only Child, a Firm believer in Love, but not for herself (That'll change ;-) & is Smart, Accepting & Lives in the moment.
Both had Quite the Complicated (but good) Childhood. They've an age gap of 6yrs & OMG, 12 YEARS PASS BEFORE THEIR STARS FINALLY ALIGN FOR THEIR HEA!! Now I can say, their love was a LONG time coming. I wasn't particularly sad, more like Surprised. A lot of Character growth happens in those years; They're more Mature, established, & know what they want.
"Liv is a spark in the night…she’s so much. She’s someone I like and who I’d love to see again. There’s a special bond between us..."

This book starts with Their start. The 1st meet. Her stranded on the airport *Storms* & him wanting to help. Sparks fly Which leads to more. He was 24, She was 18. He didn't knew she was a virgin...But This was The Best 1st Sexy time for her! They were young, Just finding their Footing in this World. Such a Bright Future ahead.
In the Subsequent Years, they meet Many times. It's like meeting Old friends, their Connection never fading. Their lives were Rollercoasters. But whenever one needed, the other was their. But what happens when one wants more? 😭
"What is it about her that pulls me to her? It’s like destiny keeps bringing us together for one reason or another."

There's the Airport Firsts, Truths & Future, Years Meet ons, Meeting her dad, His Job Probs, Her dad's Heart-Attack, Eros+Liv Together, Apart & talking through texts, New Ideas, His Sis Callie's death *Oh no..!*, Heal, Her mom's cancer, Shoulder to lean on, "Maybe We Can Love", Lost...
Throughout these, They were already in love, Its in their actions. They just didn't know it, Yet. They saw dreams & made it true.
"She says that there’s always a reason why you meet someone. Maybe we met so when we face our worst storms, we’ll have each other to hold onto."

Then Finally, Their stars Aligned. Finally, they're in the Same state at the Same time. She's Here to help her Bestie's Wedding planning Company but Maybe... He'll become her Reason to Stay. But before getting the HEA, They've got Troubles to Over come!
This part was the last 30% of the book. I'd say it was fast, but after everything they've endured in the past years, I'll say, this is perfect. I'm glad Eros Clears the misunderstandings (Which had made them realise their Feelings) Fast & that they gave "Us" a chance!
"I like her—a lot. I want her. I almost need her like I need oxygen. Liv isn’t just any person. She is a cyclone of emotions. Colorful and happy as a wildflower. She’s a flame that brands my soul every time we touch."

There's No Texts (Why?), Wedding business, Pretend & Fake, Her Hurt, Love Realisations, Fam Dinners & Setting, Him Fighting for their love, Sister Talks, Baby Visit, Clearing Misunderstandings, Starting Fresh *Yay!*, Meet his Fam, Dating...& Proposal!
I'm So Glad, they've earned every bit of their Happiness!! The epilogue's Gorgeous, loved seeing into their Future😍.
I'm so excited for what's next in this series!

I got Major "Defying our Forever" Vibes from this book! Eros & Olivia, were both so lucky but still With bad timing. I loved when they finally got together. This book had so much to Uncover. It's Fun & With Feels!

Love Like Her is an OK read. I like the story in general, but it seems flat in the middle. The pish and pull between Eros and Liv is predictable.

The chemistry is luke warm. I was expecting more steam from Miss Burgoa. Eros's sisters are annoying as hell bordering to childish. The misunderstanding between Eros and Liv is also premature.

On the other hand, I still enjoy the story OK.

Sometimes you have to get lost in order to find your way home. Life and love come easily to some people, but not to others. Eros and Olivia are young, stubborn, and keep missing each other in their quest to find themselves and their life.
What neither realize is they are missing each other.
A uniquely told story with a rich cast of characters, some great banter, and a twist only Claudia Burgoa can add.

LOVE LIKE HER is the third book in the AGAINST ALL ODDS SERIES and while it follows siblings each of the stories can be read as a standalone, this is Eros Brassard (the eldest sibling) and Olivia Sierra's story.

Eros and Olivia's story isn't your typical romance where two people meet and fall in love. This story spans over several years and we get to watch total strangers become friends and then realize that there is something special between them.

Do you believe in Serendipity? Well read this story and then tell me what you think, because Eros and Olivia first meet when she is stranded in a New York airport due to a blizzard. Then they meet again years later in a different airport, and so on and so on. But each time they meet it's like seeing a long lost friend because they have such a deep connection.

I loved the way Claudia wrote this story, it was fun and light which balanced out the heavier moments, it was also sweet and sexy. But what I really enjoyed was that I was able to see Eros' side of events that happened in his sisters books,  Wrong Text, Right Love (currently free) and  Didn't Expect You.

If you enjoy Sweet and Spicy Contemporary Romances I would recommend this book to you, but a little warning...you may want to keep a couple of tissues around because there may be a time or two where you may need them.

Happy Reading!!!

We have all heard the phrases talking about things that just happen...Like "Two Ships Passing In The Night." Songs have been written about it, poems and movies, too. Claudia Burgoa takes this idea, puts her own spin on it, and works so well.

We have two people who live in different cities, different temperaments, and are stuck in an airport.
It is as simple as He sees Her, and She sees Him. They are two strangers who feel closer to each other than they do to others they have known. They follow these feelings and connect in all the right ways. They say goodbye and leave it up to chance if they will ever see each other again.

Chance, Fate, and/or The Big Kahuna decides to have them cross paths a couple of times, always having an obstacle in the way...but finally, they are in the same place, living in the same place, and any obstacle to stop them from being each's HEA is only in their heads.

Claudia Burgoa is a master in understanding what makes people tick and how to get them to see what is in front of them. Take this journey and you will be rewarded.

I finished it in less than three days... Huh.... Not because I wanted to see how it ends but because I was desperate to know WHEN it ends.
When I started reading this one I thought this was gonna be something different. But UUGHHH... Universe has other plans.
Well, long story short, tall, dark, handsome Eros Brassard offers to help young, beautiful and cheerful Olivia Evelyn who's stranded on the airport, After considering the pros and cons she accepts his offer. Following the instant pull they feel towards each other, they hook up. AND THAT'S WHERE IT GOT NASTY. Trust me I thought someone's flipped the pages and brought me to some extra vulgar adult film... Physical intercourse is something that seems like a very special and intense thing ... According to me. But the way it was described here, I'm scared now...The way Eros describes it, it becomes even worse....What a vocab...Eros....After a quite heated convo they decide it's not gonna work. Cause they live way too far from each other. Well, destiny keeps bringing them face to face time to time and they keep feeling the same old pull. What I don't get is, is it just about the sexual tension between them? Because after yeeeears when they meet, they end up getting cozy .... I don't know why. They face a lot of ups and downs, highs and lows before reconciliation. I was expression less while reading it because I felt the urge to end it.
The only thing I loved about the book is Olivia Evelyn aka Liv. Olivia Evelyn is basically me. In many ways. She believes in soulmate theory and wants to meet the One but also wait until the right time . But, is there something as a "Right Time" to fall in love? Who knows? When she says things like
" To be loved by our parents, our families, our friends, but the one love we all seek is the romantic, head over heels, I can’t live without my soulmate kind of love."
It touches me deep. She's a smart, sweet, caring, sensible girl who wants nothing but to see her family happy. No matter what. And somehow , she ends up in messes herself because of that. And when her man finally shows up, she's unable to distinguish between real life and fantasy.
Phew.... Let's talk about Eros Brassard. He's as Liv mentioned, tall, dark, handsome dude who adores his family. And also a commitment phob. Amidst different circumstances, he keeps bumping to Olivia only to confuse her along with himself. Not that it's his fault that he's a "Grown up" who has everything planned for his future and present unlike Liv.
Though he sure had feelings for Olivia, his obsession with some other chick didn't make any sense to me. I mean, Dude... do you see girls as Consolation Prize? He did make me wanna punch him... A thousand times. It literally felt to me like he was using Liv as an escape. Or soother.
All I know is, it didn't work out for me. I don't know why or how I ended up reading it. Though the message is Against all odds, it felt like they were siding with the odds the whole time. It's actually merely a 2.5 for me.

Love Like Her is Claudia's third book in the Against the Odds Series. This book is about Eros Broussard, brother to Persy and Nyx, who the first two books were about. He should know about women, having 3 sisters, but at times he is so clueless.

Eros and Olivia Evelyn Sierra meet by chance in JFK stuck due to a sudden snowstorm. Thus begins the pattern that defines their lives over the course of the next several years. Meeting by chance, then by choice, but neither realizing the impact the other has over them. Or at least not consciously admitting it. Only knowing it is the other they want and need when life gets rough and unable to bear.

The angst is real and I wanted to knock some heads a time or two, more so Liv's than Eros. But just bear with them and they will finally figure things out.

I love their families, who are so overflowing with wit and love! They add so much dimension to their rich, unique family units who become even more when they embrace new members. My heart melted time and time again while devouring this book! The Epilogue! Gah! Pure Perfection!

5 Star Review of Love Like Her (Against All Odds #3) by Claudia Y Burgoa

AUDIO REVIEW:
It’s amazing how fate can change the course of your life. For Eros and Olivia that is what happened. Their connection was immediate and the passion they shared intense. They knew that long distance wouldn’t work and parted.
However fates continues to play a role and their paths cross too many times for them to ignore what it is telling them. When Olivia is hired as the wedding planner for Eros’s best friends wedding maybe this time their timing will finally be be right?
I loved the friendship and banter that was between Eros and Olivia. Will their friendship finally turn into a passionate love or will they chose to remain friends ?
The narration by Kelsey Navarro and Teddy Hamilton was spot on. Their voices are easy to listen to and really expressed the emotions that the couple both went through. The growth of both Olivia and Eros throughout this story added an additional layer to this story.
This was a well written, heart warming story with characters who were entertaining, that left me with a smile on my face.

I was so excited to see Eros’s story come to life in this newest story by the talented Claudia Burgoa!

We finally get to see the elusive Eros and where he really disappearing to in the previous books in this series. Now don’t get discouraged by that last sentence! This story, along with all the others can be read as a standalone. So if this is your first foray into the Brassard world, welcome and get ready to fall in love with the characters.

Olivia is the reason for Eros’s disappearances! A chance meeting and then serendipity and fate take the wheel in their relationship.

Olivia’s upbringing is a bit chaotic, but full of love. But it still leaves some lingering issues in the heart for her. She is young when her and Eros meet for the first time, but she truly is an old soul.

The pace and flow of this story was phenomenal! Even as the years pass in this story, I was still invested in what was going on. It was lovely to “see” past characters make an appearance, they didn’t distract from the main story, but they sure did bring more to it!

I am always amazed by the stories that Ms. Burgoa gives to the readers, and this story is no exception!

When you continue to cross paths and your connection is too strong to deny, but you can't be together long-term, do you finally walk away for good? Or do you stick around and determine to make your chemistry work out?

This is the dilemma facing Olivia and Eros, who met when they were young and about to take on the world, and now in their present, have met again for what could be their last time.

Olivia (Liv) and Eros are absolutely adorable together. I love their snark and wit and their intense chemistry. They were so young when they met that I hurt for them as they just could not get on the same page at the same time. But I was rooting them on the whole way through, just knowing that when they got their shit together, it'd be amazing, and it was. Love Like Her is signature Claudia - sexy, witty and funny with a sweet ending.

‘Love Like Her’ is the third book by Claudia Burgoa in the Against All Odds series. This is my first read by this author and it was an excellent introduction to her books.

The overall concept of love and soulmates is always something I ponder and love to discuss, so this book with its multiple chances at love, and the idea of destiny was right up my street.

The book is about Olivia, who as a girl gets stranded at JFK airport when her flight is cancelled due to a blizzard. In her panic she desperately phones her father in the hope he can bail her out, to the amusement of one handsome stranger Eros. But when Olivia is left to independently fix her situation, she finds herself striking up a flirtatious conversation with Eros, who offers her a place to stay and company.

Their initial meeting is romantic, passionate and both feel they were meant to meet at that exact specific moment in time, however, due to incorrect timing are forced to part ways. The book then shows you as a reader the development and evolution of their relationship over many years and events. They are two people who keep meeting, and it makes you feel like they really are meant to be destined for each other, but how many chances and shots at love can you have before you have to give it up?

A very interesting concept, and I loved the Greek naming theme of Eros and his siblings, and how utterly outrageous his family is. I also love Olivia’s father and step father, their relationship felt very stable, loving and you learn from their history that they too are two people meant to be together.

This book was an easy and enjoyable read which I blitzed all in one sitting. Chance encounters, fate, and a good balance of love and heartache is featured, and I would recommend to those who love the idea of second, third and fourth chance romances. Eros and Olivia’s bond is truly special, and there is a real depth to their relationship which is continuous through. A great well thought out book, and I’m excited to read more by this author.

Love Like Her is the 3rd book in Against All Odds series by Claudia Burgoa. This is Eros Brassard and Olivia Sierra's story. Their story, as we get to read, is shown over several years and it shows how they met and became really good friends. There's this instant connection, chemistry between them from the getgo but the timing wasn't right. In fact, there's several different times, encounters between them where the timing wasn't really right and the two would see each other and then go on with life, kind of like ships that pass in the night. It's now 4 years later, present time, Eros and Olivia have found each other again. Eros never stopped caring for Olivia and is ready to prove his feelings for her. Olivia runs from any type of feelings and has been for years. But is she ready to stop? The poignant emotions, the chemistry between them, the humor and heart from all the characters featured is wonderful. This story will have you rooting for Eros and Olivia. Great characters, good plot and fantastic ending.

I loved this book. Eros is the oldest of the Bassard's as we've seen his younger twin sisters get their happily ever afters. Meeting Olivia in an airport while in college, he rescued her from being stranded for a few days and their relationship takes off. I loved how they kept meeting up every so often in airports or on the street. It was truly serendipity. They were meant to be. I hate that it took them so long, but loved being able to witness it from the beginning of their relationship. I love this family.

Love Like Her is a wonderful heartwarming story where fate or the universe seems to bring Olivia and Eros together. Meeting at an airport as flights are delayed, Olivia is on the phone with her family....Eros overhears her conversation and let just say the journey these two go on is absolutely wonderful. Its life, decisions, steamy tension, family and trying to be an adult and learning your way in the world. Years may pass but these two genuinely have an ease of friendship. I loved the entertaining banter, the bonds of their respective families, the ease of conversation, the general storyline and where it went, captivated my attention.
Will these two become more or stay friends? Go 1 click to find out.
Such a feel good story with wonderful characters. I highly recommend this book!

A sparkling story of soulmates
5 stars

This is the third book in a wonderful series about the Brassard siblings. We got Persy’s story in Wrong Text, Right Love, then Nyx’s story in Didn't Expect You and now older brother Eros gets his own story. Despite the siblings appearing in all three stories, this book stands completely alone so no need to have read the first two books to understand and like this one. In fact, much of the story takes place before and during - but separate to - the events in the first two books.

Eros and Olivia first meet during a snowstorm at an airport and they - and we - feel the spark of their connection immediately. Not only that, but their personalities absolutely shine from the first. This is something that I’ve noticed is a trademark of Claudia Y. Burgoa’s writing. She writes such likeably quirky characters with such rich, full personalities and lives.

If you have read the first two books, you’ll know that Eros early family life was slightly unusual. In fact, when we first meet him in this book when he’s 23, he’s still trying to find his passion and purpose in life. But even with that he’s a sweet, kind, caring and funny guy. Who also just happens to be a total hottie and very much like his Greek namesake (the god of love and sex!). He really is the best kind of hero - a hot man with a heart of gold.

Olivia is an absolute delight. She’s fun, feisty and just a little bit quirky. I loved her honesty - with herself and Eros - and how she is utterly herself when she’s around him. I could identify with her desire to rely on herself but that made it all the more wonderful when she realised that she had Eros to lean on when times got tough.

And times did get tough in this book for both our main characters. It mostly is things that happen to others that affects them, rather than things happening directly to them, but it’s still emotionally charged and slightly upsetting at times. Having said that, it’s never laid on thick and never drags the story down or takes you to an overly dark place. Thankfully!

The book focuses on several encounters between our pair over several years - each time the pair meeting again by some random twist of fate. It’s not a ‘4 years later’ kind of book but rather time swiftly moving forward until we get to the present day. This is especially true once Eros and Olivia exchange numbers. It’s unusual but it definitely worked. I couldn’t put this book down from beginning to end.

Olivia and Eros are perfect for each other - something their chemistry proves just as well as their friendship and hilarious interactions, especially through texts. And as I say, their sexy times are just as delicious. I love it!

If I had a teeny tiny minor complaint, it was about the Misty storyline. I didn’t feel like she was needed as it was clear - to us readers at least - that Eros was already in love with Olivia. But if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, sometimes men just aren’t that bright, bless their cotton socks. At least he realised it in time to make a wonderful HEA with an equally wonderful epilogue - and I do so love an epilogue.

Claudia Y. Burgoa has once again delivered an addictive story of soulmates who can never quite find the right time to be together - until they take destiny into their own hands. I loved this story from beginning to end and it’s definitely recommended and worth 5 stars from me.

4* Serendipity Stars

This is the third book in the Against All Odds Series and is Eros Brassard’s story at finding love. This can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend you read Wrong Text, Right Love and Didn’t Expect You, as these secondary characters make quite a few appearances in Eros Story and they are so likeable and quirky.

Eros meets Olivia (Liv) at the airport where they are both stranded due to a severe snowstorm and unable to fly to their respective destinations. When Eros offers to shelter Olivia for the night neither expected the attraction they had towards one another to ignite. After spending a few days together, they go their separate ways never expecting to cross paths again. Liv is very young and beginning her studies whilst Eros is older and a successful businessman and both of them are heading in opposite directions in life.

When fate brings them together numerous times, their chemistry is still strong, but they are still headed in different directions and living in different cities. There were also too many challenges for them to overcome to be together.

After many years of friendship and missed opportunities they find themselves in the same city for an extended period of time. Both of them realise that they have missed each other, and that their feelings run deeper than they have be willing to share. To be able to be together sacrifices have to be made to make it work once and for all!

I loved the interaction with the respective families and how kind and gentle Eros was with his sisters. I really enjoyed this sweet slow burn friends to lover romance with very likeable characters and who were so much fun.

An ARC was provided, all opinions are my own.

I loved this story! Such a fab read! It was funny, sexy, fun and a little bit emotional.

”Is there such a thing as being compatible with a perfect stranger?”

Eros Brassard and Olivia Sierra first meet by chance in an airport lounge when their flights are delayed. Eros can’t leave the young woman stranded there all night and Olivia doesn’t want to accept a strange man’s hospitality. After hours spent talking, she finally accepts his offer to stay at his apartment. The attraction between them leads them to a couple of unforgettable nights. As the years pass, these two meet through a mixture of serendipity and by design, as their long-distance friendship flourishes. Although, when they meet, it usually goes beyond friendship. However, their lives never seem to align; they never seem to be in the same place at the same time, as they both zip around the country and even abroad. Just when they might finally be in the same place, Olivia discovers that it might also be too late.

”Maybe we met so when we face our worst storms, we’ll have each other to hold onto.”

I was totally captivated by this story. Eros and Olivia had a comfortable rapport and light-hearted banter from the start. Their attraction was obvious and, over the years, inevitable. Olivia valiantly tried to deal with life’s obstacles on her own, but Eros kept showing up to take care of her. Through his actions, I loved that he always demonstrated that she was his person. Both characters were affected by their upbringing but I think Olivia more so. She needed to learn that she could safely give her heart to someone who was always going to be around for her. In the previous two books, Eros gave the impression that he was lovable but kinda flaky but, in this book, we got a really clear picture of a guy who loved his family immensely and was always there for them – so much so, that he often forgot to focus on his own needs. I adored him! He was a fantastic brother, a fun-loving uncle and a good son. He was aptly named, as he had so much love to give. A gorgeous story!

Love Like Her by Claudia Burgoa is book three in the Against All Odds series. It features Eros Brassard and Olivia Sierra. Olivia and Eros met at JFK airport while stuck waiting for their delayed flights. They had an instant electrifying connection and ended up hooking up before parting ways knowing they would never work out as a couple. For thirteen long years Eros and Olivia crossed paths many times being the support and friendship the other needs. Each time they meet and part because there was always something preventing them from being together. One day due to a misunderstanding their communication and subsequent friendship abruptly ends. While offering to help her best friend with her event planning business Olivia and Eros meet again, can they dig through all the trauma and finally come together like they are meant to?

I absolutely LOVED Olivia and Eros individually and as a couple. Olivia and Eros’ first meeting was so cute. Eros swooped in as Olivia’s savior and that really shows his caring nature. Eros knew what he wanted and had his life planned out. Olivia having constantly moved around all her life wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with her life. This was a classic case of opposites attract. Both are so different from each other, yet they mesh really well. Over the years we see Olivia and Eros grow into the people they were meant to be and without realizing it both become irreplaceable in the other’s life. This is my favorite book by Claudia and one I will definitely re-read. These characters were so well written and their love story was so cute. Neither realized when they fell in love, but they knew that they only wanted each other during the good times and the bad. Olivia and Eros are so cute. They are the literal definition of couple goals.

Love Like Her was thoroughly captivating, addicting, and entertaining. It hooked me from the beginning right until the end. I read through it in one sitting because I loved it so much. I LOVED everything about this book. The characters, the plot, and the humor. This book had it all. There was love, drama, friendship, family, humor, and an external force preventing Eros and Olivia from being together until the right time. Eros and Olivia were fated, and it was only a matter of time before they ended up together.

Get ready for all the warm, fluffy and fuzzy feels in Love Like Her by Claudia Burgoa. This story filled my heart with all kind of feel good emotions. I had a blast while reading this friends to lovers rom com with some amazing characters, beautiful story line and heartfelt writing.

This is the story of Eros Brassard, brother of Persy and Nyx. I have loved and adored their love stories and was waiting impatiently for the brother's story. It started with a meet cute at JFK airport. Eros and Olivia spent some naughty time together but they decided it's best to keep it at that because their lives are going at entirely different directions. Then came the second..third..fourth meetings till they became good friends. With or without benefits. But their time was never right. And now Olivia is meeting him again. As a wedding planner. Will they finally accept their true feelings?

First of all, there is no cheating. There are clever coincidences and very real accidents. From what I read in previous books, Eros' sisters think of him as an immature and impulsive guy. But in this book, the author explored his character in depth and I could see a whole new world of Eros. Who is actually very responsible, protective and understanding. I love to read these kinds of stories spreading across years. These are so cutely written in the stars! I am a hopeless romantic and finding soulmate after all these hurdles is the most romantic thing ever! Olivia is a witty, smart and independent person but her upbringing made her scared of being committed to a place or a person. Like Eros had difficulty being assertive about his life choices. I actually fall in love with their friendship. Everyone needs such a friendship with trust and respect and mutual needs in their lives! The romance grew naturally out of that dependence. Of course their chemistry was sizzling hot. And the naughty times were hottest. But the best part was their easy camaraderie and deep connection that refused to die even with all the distance. I had to suffer through some heartbreaking and angsty moments but the ending was extraordinarily beautiful. Also, I loved spending time with the Brassards!

Love Like Her by Claudia Burgoa was an extremely touching and heartfelt romance. I didn't want to leave Eros and Olivia. Ever.

The serendipitous leads to so much more...

Eros Brassard; yes, that Eros, Nyx & Persy's big brother; & Olivia Sierra meet purely by chance in the JFK airport while she is trying to get from Canada to her father in the States. She and Eros have instant chemistry. He, of course, sees a damsel in distress, a cute one. After some work to convince her he isn't a stalker or serial killer, they end up spending the two days until their delayed flights together. Thus begins their odd friendship.

For years after their first encounter, they are like ships passing in the night. Except they are there for each other at some vital moments in their lives. He is at her side when her father ends up in the hospital. He seeks her out when he is drowning in grief after a sudden unexpected loss.

In addition to the fun of seeing the Brassard parents and their unique view of life and love, we also get his sisters and their spouses. As well as all sorts of feels.

~Airports encounters
~Family and all their foibles and quirks
~Misunderstandings that almost derail their future
~Blind dates
~Stalkers
~Adorable nieces
~Heartbreaking loss

The realization that the easy path isn't always the path you are meant to follow. Two people who keep coming into each others lives until they finally realize that they aren't meant to or aren't just ships passing in the night. They've slowly infiltrated each others worlds until they are finally in the right place at the right time so they can start their united future.

Humor, heart, angst, joy, the feeling that this is how relationships evolve. It can take years to figure out what, who, and where you belong and this is Eros & Liv's path to HEA.

“Every time you fall asleep, you’ll find me in your dreams.”

Eros... Wow. He was so different than I imagined. We met him in Percy’s story and again during Nyx’s. I knew he loved his sisters and I had thought he also resented them. I was so wrong. He has the biggest heart.

Meeting Olivia was fate... they come together many times over the years, always as friends, sometimes more. Both being afraid to ask for what they want most.

There is a saying, “If you love something set it free, if it comes back to you it’s yours, if not it was never meant to be.
Eros & Liv are living proof of that. What will the fates decide?

Claudia gets me every time. I run the gauntlet of emotions reading her stories. She weaves a beautiful story filled with heartache, passion and so much love.
I truly loved this story. It was sad at times and broke my heart in some places. The Brassard family is quirky and I’d love to be a guest at their family dinners.

I received an advance copy and this is my honest review.

Love Like Her by C. Burgoa is book three in her Against All Odds series It's an interconnected series of stand-alones, best read in order.
LLH has a storyline that spans years, from their late teens till their thirties.
Olivia is a woman who is a bit rootless. Grew up with divorced parents, loving but separated over a great distance. She's a good woman, a bit high maintenance, but loving, a nurturer.
Eros grew up with three sisters inan unconventional family. He too is a good guy, caring. Both's paths cross over the years and their attraction is high. But more than ons never come out of it.
LLH is a slow burn, low on drama, touching story that sucked me in right from the start, and didn't let go till the last page. Through all the twists and turns till the well deserved hea.
A great read, 4,5 stars.

I don't know what I would do if I were in either Eros and Liv's shoes. But I don't think I could last that long without dropping everything and just be with the person you love. Their story is so sad now that I think about it. There's no right time for them to just be together. It spans over a lot of years. They would see each other by chance, and then they would go on their way.

But I adore their growing friendship. It was deep and long-lasting. And they support each other. It was clear they were made for each other. I enjoyed their texts to each other. Definitely had a good laugh reading Eros' family's antics.

The ending was kind of rushed though, or maybe I'm the one who didn't want it to end.

I've been waiting for Eros' book since I devoured the first book in the series, and this did not disappoint! To be honest, this is my favorite of the series. Not only do we get a slow-burn romance, but we get to see Eros and Liv build and develop a genuine and true friendship over the years. The first time they met was happenstance, but obviously fate had a hand in they're coming in contact with each other each time they ended up in the same orbit. The fantastic thing is how they provide that emotional support for each other during respective family tragedies (I was NOT expecting the Broussard family event though). I will say that the part of the story that centers around Misty really didn't need to be included, I don't think it really added anything, because there was already enough obstacles for these two.

How could you feel so connected to someone you barely knew. Sure people have one night stands, short lived relationships, but how could meeting a good samaritan in the airport around the holidays turn into a life long friendship, one that comes with some pretty excellent benefits.
Eros and Olivia first meet in JFK airport around Christmas time which also means good chance of bad weather, this just happens to be bringing a blizzard. Eros is leaving from New York so he's not stranded, Olivia on the other hand is on a layover with limited funds and unhappy parents that wanted her home sooner and want to teach her a life lesson about being stubborn and prepared.
Needless to Eros isn't a serial killer and despite knowing she shouldn't be leaving with a strange man something about him makes Olivia want to go.
Thus begins one of my favorite book friendship/relationships ever.
They don't live near one another, they don't purposefully cut work or family time to be togeth, they don't sacrifice each other's wants or needs, at least not to their knowledge.
They do both keep secrets from each other but how could they not when they've spent so much time invested in what the have now to just take a chance and destroy it?
Yet when you look at every chance encounter they've had from the begin at how many times their meet ups have been planned and how many times they've been orchestrated or just left to fate. No matter how they've all been a risk either one of them could have said no I'm done at any point and never did.
I just adored this book and could probably write a book about how and why I loved it. I think it really speaks to how we've come to make bonds with people as well. Especially with social media now days.
This is definitely a book you will want to read even if you haven't read the others. 💙💜

Love Like Her is the story of Olivia and Eros. A chance meeting in an airport becomes fast, fun romantic jaunt that neither one will forget. Yes the connection is immediate and the chemistry is off the charts but it is not their time. They are each at a place in their lives that this relationship is just not ready to bloom. They both realize that time and distance are not on their side but fate and serendipity are about to take front and center for this couple.
This is not your cookie cutter boy meets girl ,the world aligns and they run off into the sunset. This is a journey over several years, a series of chance meetings, texts, calls and just being there in the time of need for one another. Although it soon becomes undeniable for Eros and now he just need to place himself front and center and make Olivia see what he sees between them! I loved their wonderful banter, amazingly funny supportive families and just the way they would shine when in each others company ! What a crazy ride with Eros and Oliva !!

This was such a sweet and unexpected second chance love story. These two characters meet by chance in an airport and their relationship evolves over the years as fate takes course with intermingling their lives. The setting is unique, the hero is swoon-worthy, and is family is a fabulous secondary character! The heroine is strong and stubborn, which frustrated me at times, but in the end their HEA is worth the years where their timing was "off." Well done C Burgoa!
