Bad Crush (Campus Nights #2) by Rebecca Jenshak is a sexy standalone friends to lovers, college sports romance full of humor, and amazing chemistry. We first met Adam and Reagan in Heath and Ginny's book which was the first book in the series. I enjoyed seeing Reagan finally make her move and go get her man. This was such a cute, fun, flirty story. I love this whole friend group! I can't wait for more in the series! I need Rhett & Mav's stories!!! <333

4.5 stars!

Another steamy and sweet hockey romance from Rebecca Jenshak! Rebecca has honestly become one of my go-to authors for sports romance as she writes them so authentically and with so much heart. Her characters are not perfect and they make plenty of mistakes, but their journey to love is endearing and so worth it.

Adam and Reagan's story was no different. Reagan has been crushing on Adam for years before a chance opportunity gets Adam to truly see Reagan for the first time. As their relationship and feelings for each other deepen, both Adam and Reagan must overcome feelings of doubt and self-worth if they're to finally obtain the happiness they both deserve.

I loved how sweet and supportive they both were towards each other, plus Adam was seriously a dreamboat! I am so freaking stoked for Rhett's book next as he is finally living the single life! ♡

My Adam, the hockey star and aspiring doctor who will mend your broken heart..

Not me waiting for something fine ass story with great chemistry and being fooled after all. Honestly, I don't see the point why these two have to be together.
This guy has had girlfriends, no matter what. He loves to be in a relationship, which is kinda new but tbh they were in the same circle for 2 yrs and never ever tried to ask out the "hottest gurl on campus" and when she confess her feelings he feels so deeply connected to her after one week? Yea?. He can go for a walk, I would never say yes to him anyway so Reagan can keep him. I am truly just annoyed, but they just took away so much energy. I should have DNF when I reached half of the story.
Mav is still amazing, Heath owns my heart too.
At least it is over. I need a break. The story and the characters are okay(ish) - I guess.

Bad Crush is book 2 in the Campus Nights series and can be read as a standalone though you first meet the characters in the previous book, Secret Puck. This is a New Adult Sports Romance involving a best friends brother with a slight fake dating element.

Adam is a serial monogamist. He is always looking for a long lasting relationship that just never end up feeling right. He is goal oriented and focused on his future but also believes in love and is a true romantic at heart. He is fun, kind and caring but has some family life changes he is learning to deal with.

Reagan has had a crush on Adam for as long as she can remember. She is sweet, flirty and has all the confidence and conviction when playing a part but has never felt bold enough to tell Adam how she truly feels.

One night Adam and Reagan get themselves into a predicament that they can't seem to get out of and so ensues a little 'faking it' but the more time these two spend together the more things start to just feel right.

This was a quick and easy read with some added steam, heartfelt moments, a whole lot of swoon, a little angst as well as dealing with some harder to tackle topics such as neglectful parents. I'm really enjoying this series so far and can not wait for the 3rd and 4th books as I have really fallen in love with this group of characters.

Bad Crush?
Bad book rather 💀👍🏻

Omg, the way I was so frustrated with these two. Adam didn't even love Reagan, he just saw a chance to be with her when she told him he was her crush. The guy was desperate to get a new girlfriend and thought "hey, I better go out with her, because why not? She can be fun" and then of course he fell in love with her. Come on! 😒

Before they got together, Adam was jumping between relationships all the time, what could she expect? Exactly, nothing good. Besides, she had a slightly obsessive crush on him.

All they did was have sex all the time and then fight over stupid things (but mostly Reagan playing the victim all the time). It was annoying af!

Tbh, idk how they managed to stay together after college.

I'm very disappointed with this book. 🫠

Reread October 2021 - I love Adam & Reagan more and more every time i read this book.

I absolutely loved Adam and Reagan’s book - it was everything I had hoped it would be and more. I cannot adequately explain to you how much I love the Valley U world and everyone who lives in it; from the guys and girls of the Smart Jocks series, to the Campus Nights crew, I really have fallen in love with them all. Rebecca Jenshak writes College sports romance so well and I hope she never stops.
As much as I adored Adam and Reagan, I’ve got a huge soft spot for Rhett and am super excited for his story coming up.

I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I know I wasn’t expecting for sweet and shy Reagan to be so... well, you’ll just have to read and find out what she was like. Just expect the unexpected.

I enjoyed her love story with Adam, because she’s had a crush on him for so dang long and he’s been oblivious to it. They are friends, sure, but how could he not notice her crush? He loves to have a girlfriend. He’s a serial monogamous, so why has he never tried monogamy with her?! She’s great.

Anyway. These two just felt so natural to me, and I’m thinking that this might be my favorite Rebecca Jenshak book to date. It’s so dang hot and electric between them. There’s something about their story that was so easy and easy to love. Reagan has some life struggles that I found completely relatable, and I enjoyed how the author brought closure to them in a very realistic and empowering way. Adam is also dealing with graduating, his feelings about his parents divorce, and what that means about his thoughts on love. It’s just such a good read with a healthy dose of angst that shakes things up.

I have to admit I sort of miss them already. Does that make me needy? I’m also super pumped for the next book in the series. I love the friendships in this series and the Smart Jocks series that came before it, so I’m glad we are getting more of this gang. ALSO, I know who is next... but I’m reallyyyyy hoping we get a D&M pairing eventually. Iykyk. Who do I have to pay to make that happen? 😂

Anyway. This book is coming April 27th! Pick it up, it’s great.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, sweet and hot read.

Reagan and Adam are students at the Valley U, they are neighbours, they are friends and he is a serial dater, all these make it difficult for Reagan to confess her feelings for Adam. Everything change when Adam asks her to be his fake date for an important event with his professors, that night they feel so well together that even Adam begins to see Reagan as more than a friend. Could Adam stay in a long relationship? Will their friendship survive if their relationship fails?

My favourite character is Reagan, her doubts are relatable and not fake just to make some drama in the storyline. She is shy around her crush like me and I was so happy to finally see her getting the chance to stay close to Adam. Our hero was a little too slow noticing how amazing Reagan is so I did need more time to like him but then he redeemed himself showing his gentle and protective side.

Rebecca Jenshak created this faboulus world that I never want to leave. Such an amazing group of characters that book after book you see more as friends than mere fictional characters.
I can't wait to get next book.

“The thing about being this happy? I don’t think I’ll ever be able to settle for happy enough again”

This was really a great book, hands down.

Adam and Reagan’s story was something else, all filled with sweetness and feelings .

I couldn’t stop reading it, it was just that good.

Reagan has always had a crush on Adam since the first time she saw him.

He’s her best friend brother, her neighbor, the captain of the hockey team and at the top of all of that he is a serial monogamist who’s sworn off dating. So there was no chance for her.

But then something changed , he asked her to help him out with keeping girls away. And what better way to do that than became his fake date?

This had disaster written all over it, but Reagan was too far gone for him to refuse.

Sometimes the line between fake and reality is really thin and one look can change everything.

“I’m crazy about you. Can’t seem to get enough, but right now–somehow it feels like enough”

Adam, the good guy, the intelligent guy , the one everyone want to date. He has always enjoyed dating girls, but it never lasted to long and the next girl was always ready to take the place of the old one. But not this time. He wanted to change.

But what if you meet the one? well then it’s a complete different game, and now Adam has to figure out the rules before it’s too late.

“There’s a study out there that estimates the average person meets ten thousand people in their lifetime.Ten thousand . Yet, the ones we remember, the ones who change the very core of who we are is a much smaller number”

The chemistry between them was explosive, it was like fireworks on the 4th of July: just magic.

I gave it 4 stars.

On My Blog

I hope you’ll enjoy it like I did!

I have been on a real college sports kick recently. The last four book I read before this were all based around college hockey. So, when I first started reading this it felt like a continuation of those books. Especially since it has been so long since I read the earlier book in this series. And then they started playing sardines and it all came flooding back. Because that's how my brain works, apparently.

Once it all came flooding back, I remembered how much I was loving everything about it. The characters are all awesome and I love how tight they all are. Adam and Reagan were such a cute couple. Despite the fact that they were very different in a lot of ways they complimented each other perfectly.

Everything about this story was fun and from the start I was sucked in dying to know how these two were going to get to their happily ever after. Because despite how hot and perfect they were together they had a lot of different things going against them.

And since there are so many wonderful secondary characters, I am hoping that we will be getting loads more books in the series. I am so excited to see that the next book in the series is Rhett's because that boy has been book boyfriend goals since the beginning.

Looking for your next sweet and heartfelt swoony romance? Look no further than Rebecca Jenshak and the Campus Nights Series. Every story is chock full of sweet feelings, first love butterflies, swoony romance, and charming characters- with ample servings of humor and heat. I’ve been so anxiously awaiting this friends to lovers story- of Reagan and her secret crush on the protective and dreamy Adam. And Bad Crush is even better than I dreamed. My heart is exploding 😍😍 Adam and Reagan are everything!

While we met Adam and Reagan in Secret Puck, here we TRULY get to know them as characters, and I fell so madly for both of these characters. Adam in particular surprised me- RJ gives him so many layers to explore. In a trope switch up, we have a guy who is the "romantic"/serial dater- he's got some keen self-awareness that is really sexy, and he's just a genuinely great guy even though he makes some mistakes. But he always owns up to them, recognizes when he’s letting Reagan down, when his self-doubt causes him to hesitate in ways that affirm her fears. And Reagan is so much more than the shy sweetheart we first met and that the guys see her as- she has some teeth to her when she’s passionate, and she has a backstory that I neve anticipated. Her shyness stems from a fear of rejection- a fear she masks in her introversion. I really appreciated her authenticity, and I found her SO relatable, perhaps RJ’s most empathetic and substantive heroine to date. She moved me to tears not once, but twice- she just tugged at my heart with her need for family, stability, and an authentic connection- so it's not wonder she's waiting for the shoe to drop with Adam- the man that is quickly becoming her safe space.

OMG I just love these two together and their unique chemistry. Reagan’s so adorably besotted, consumed by her “bad crush”, and Adam is so charmingly oblivious- until he isn’t. And once they start exploring their adorable chemistry, I was just swooning and smiling left and right. Their sweet banter, their awkwardness as they figure out how to go from friends to more, their flirtiness. I love how RJ starts off their romance- they can’t quite figure out how to date at first, but their friendship is so endearing. But what I loved was just how seamlessly and naturally they came together. They have such an authentic connection which begets a really tender and emotional chemistry. Adam is trying to work though his serial monogamy tension- trying to ensure that his relationship with Reagan is different than his normal pattern, and sweet Reagan has subtly insecurities, trying to not ask too much of Adam, to unsettle their new relationship because she waited so long to have it. They are funny and sweet- and RJ enfuses this story with the perfect balance of heart, humor, and steam. I think this is some of RJ’s sexiest writing- Reagan and Adam not only made me swoon with their tender emotional connection, but they had my kindle overheating.

As always, RJ also charms with the secondary cast- this crew has such a heartwarming, hilarious, and enriching chosen family of friends that always add so much to every book in this series. We get more of Ginny and Heath- who are still as lusty for each other as we left them in Book 1, and we also get plenty of time with the other hockey guys and Dakota, too. They play such an important and catalytic role of support in this story- each secondary character matters to Adam and Reagan's progression, helping our main characters see and understand themselves and their relationship better. Plus, they give us some great comedic relief. I can’t wait to read all their stories- but especially Mav’s. He’s such a scene stealer.

We have more angst than in book one, a bit more drama- but given Adam and Reagan’s baggage with their families, they have a lot to confront within themselves. Both have been searching for authentic, meaningful, and healthy connections that cause them to make some mistakes, to self-sabotage and second guess. Theirs is an emotional journey of learning to trust- about leaning into feelings instead of hiding away from them. Reagan has to find confidence in herself, Adam needs to find confidence in trusting his heart, and it's the only way they can find confidence together. The foundation has always been there- now they have to take the leap of faith.

Campus Nights has fast become my favorite RJ series- every character in the CN is so rich, so endearing, so fascinatingly complicated. I want to live in their world forever and hear every last story! Reagan and Adam's story is one of my favorites yet- I'm so in love with them together and their awkward, cute, and sweet path to their HEA. Sweet, swoony, and heartfelt friends to lovers perfection!

Bad Crush is not really hiting the spot. The romance is only the first half. Then the it disappears from the story. The characters developed without that romantic connection.

I do not hate it nor enjoy it very much.

Nahhhh because fuck Reagan. SHE was the one who ended things with Adam. SHE was the one who said horrible things to him. It was HER fault and she didn’t even give an apology? Or say sorry?? Or grovel on her knees??? It was Adam who gave the heartfelt speech and put his heart on the line. Not her.

FUCK REAGAN WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING.

I seldom pull all nighters because I need my beauty sleep, but I couldn’t put this book down. Everything was so perfect–well, almost–between Adam and Reagan that I wanted to know what could possibly break their relationship, and once it happened, how they would get back together. You’ll get your happily ever after, I promise.

Reagan has a crush on Adam, who’s a serial dater on a break–after his last girlfriend, and his parents’ divorce, he wants to be single for a while. Adam needs a date and asks Reagan since she’s an actress, and they end up fakely engaged. When they start… something, neither of them knows exactly how to label their relationship. But it was the cutest AND sexiest couple ever. I swooned big time. It was actually kind of funny to watch them avoiding giving a name to their relationship, when as a reader, you see how they touch, how they kiss, how they enjoy spending time together, and you just KNOW.

There’s no real drama here, nothing life threatening, but there are raw emotions. Struggles. Insecurities. Passion. The book grips your guts and squeezes hard until the final sentence–which is my favorite ending right now.

But, as usual with this author’s college romances, there’s a lot of laughs too. The characters are all delightful–I have a crush on Mav and can’t wait for his story–and they party and have fun. It can be difficult sometimes to see how they don’t fail all their classes, but it would be boring if they went to bed at 8 and studied all the time.

The family matters were a nice theme, and well written. How even grown kids need their parents’ approval and love, how personal problem can make them neglectful, and how they can–or can’t–redeem themselves. And, eventually, how our parents’ problems cease to be our problems and we finally leave the nest.

I love this author’s work, but this book might be the best of her I’ve read so far.

I finished reading this book a few days ago and I still don't think I can write a review that will do this book justice.

Gah!!! I loved this book so much. I LIVED for Reagan's inner monologue.

I loved this take on a fake relationship trope I won't say to not spoil it but just know that it was pure gold!!!

This book has it all: steamy, swoon, quirk, sports, and a group of people you want to be friends with! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Bad Crush? More like Bad Crash: DNF 🚩🚩🚩

This was painful to read... they have ZERO chemistry, there's no reason for them to be together, he's a clueless fool and she's an annoying idiot. The way their friends butt in into their relationship was plain weird. Don't even get me started on their whole friend group STANDING BEHING HIS DOOR AND LISTENING IN TO THEM HAVING SEX 🤮🤮🤮

They were painfully awkward together and it didn't give romance vibes. Just two college kids killing time with each other and having sex. And even their smut scenes were so bland, until SUDDENLY he claimed her pu$$y "as his", which was so out of left field for him, it almost took me out!

This book kept me glued to the pages from the first sentence. Regan is so dramatic in the best way which is why she excels as a drama major.
She cracks me up with how she handles situations and I loved learning about her. Adam, oh Adam he was so blind and didn’t see what was right in front of him until he used Regan as a shield. And who knew using her as a fake date would be fun enough he’d want to do it again. If you know anything about the path to med school you know it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Adam’s competitive nature and the need for a scholarship to med school leads up to the second fake date with Adam which she hits it out of the park because when one can’t tell their crush they like them and are their fake date they turn it into acting. Both Adam and Regan learn a lot about themselves and handle all the noisy friends like a champ. I absolutely loved this book. Move over Heath Adam is my new favorite hockey player.

Bad Crush is the second book in the Campus Nights series. It is a standalone. Although if you have read the first one, this is Ginny’s brother, Adam, and her best friend, Reagan’s book. It’s a best friend’s brother/fake relationship trope.

Reagan has had a huge crush on Adam for years but he’s never seen her as more than a friend. She has never been her true self around him because she’s so nervous and shy yet she’s an actress with great talent. Adam is incredibly smart working on his pre-med degree and captain of the hockey team. When he is vying for a pre-med scholarship, he begs Reagan to be his fake girlfriend for all the events he has to attend. She excitedly agrees and things move forward from there. It’s not your usual fake relationship trope in that it becomes real after faking it. There is a declaration made and both agree to start dating in real life.

These two were so great together. I just loved them separately and as a couple. The friends were, as usual, a huge highlight of the story. We got to see our favorite couple from book one a lot. This was another great addition to the Campus Nights series, and I would definitely recommend it. I can’t wait for the next book!

4.5 Stars for Bad Crush ( Campus Nights #2)
I have to say college romance is not a genre I’m drawn to and it takes a really special story and a great author to push me in that direction, well Rebecca Jenshak and her stories really pull me out of my comfort zone and I’m loving this series.
Reagan and Adam are both students at Valley U, they are friends and neighbors, he is a man who needs a girl on his arm and she hides her true feelings from him but when Adam needs a fake relationship to impress the scholarship board the only person he trusts to ask is Reagan. So will a fake date lead to more, will Reagan admit her feelings for her friend and more importantly how does Adam really feel about his best friend.....
Adam and Reagan are a great couple and their journey is a sweet, captivating tale, relationships aren’t always say and I’m this book we see that sometimes friendships have a solid foundation for love. This is a book with all the feels, the characters are adorable and the chemistry is scorching hot but it’s this authors way with words that really draws you in and doesn’t let you go until the final wird’s have been read. I guess all that’s left to say is please one click this gem

Reagan finally admits to having a crush on Adam and they proceed to hook up without labels for a while. Adam is a serial monogamist but once he’s done with relationships, there’s no going back. This scares Reagan and causes some conflict, which honestly bothered me because it sort of came out of nowhere! I loved that their friends played a big role in this story and I am curious about Dakota! I loved how she had Reagan’s back no matter what.

So this took me a while to get into. I enjoyed it but there was something about it that didn’t click with me. I liked Reagan. Adam was fine. The group of friends were great. But I just didn’t love it. 3.5 stars.

This is such a fun book! The Reagan’s inner monologue had me laughing out loud from the first page!!! But really Adam’s inner monologue is just as hilarious. The situations they get themselves into, love it. They are so good for each other. Love their rag tag group of friends, no wait their FAMILY! Adam and Reagan are so good for each other, they make each other better. I highly recommended this book if your looking for good laughs, romance hockey and a good time. I can not wait for Rhett and Maverick to get their books.
