➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

📚 🆃🅷🅴 🅽🅸🅶🅷🆃 🅱🅻🅾🆂🆂🅾🅼🆂 📚 Is a full length romantic suspenseful read by author Leylah Attar. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' Flits from 'Past to Present.'

God I feel like a main character on the walking dead, this book had my brain switched on, plugged on high alert with this crazy storyline, like a puzzle piece with missing pieces, struggling to piece it all together, chapter by chapter, from past to present, backwards and forwards until it all unravels.

Such an intricate plot, twists and turns which left me gasping in their wake. Left reeling with everything that happened in this book. Nail biting, with a utterly unique storyline, like nothing I’ve ever read before.

GO IN BLIND!!

I think fans of Tarryn Fisher would enjoy this book, similar writing style, unique plot, complex characters.

Read my interview with Rafael Roza:
https://wp.me/p5bsdH-4od

Genre: Romantic Suspense
Type: Standalone
POV: Third Person
Rating:

When her husband Rafael went missing, Vee Roza was determined to find the truth. But the deeper she went into it, the more risk of her own past coming to the surface and potentially ruining everything they worked for.

I’m glad the author is back with a story that pulled me in right from the beginning. I did figure certain things out along the way, but the author still managed to take me by surprise. I loved how the story unravels with the past (more romantic) and present (more suspenseful) narratives, which led to a heart-stopping ending.

“I tried to spare you. I tried to push you away. Maybe the truth is the best way, after all.”

I liked how Vee was strong-willed even though sometimes that determination put her and others at risk. Rafael was more mellow with a big heart to complete the package. While I enjoyed both main characters, the Bumblebee Girl completely captured my heart.

The Night Blossoms is a story of obsession and buried secrets. It would appeal to readers who enjoy lightly dark Romantic Suspense.

Note: It’s best to go into this book blind.

The Night Blossoms was a complex mystery that had you guessing what was true and how certain characters truly became who they were. It was informative and confusing in a sense but it held this addictiveness that made you want to read more.

In order to truly appreciate this story, I think that you need to go into this one extremely blind and suspend your beliefs a little bit. This was a suspense mystery that takes you to the past and present in different settings and it makes you want to get to the bottom of the mystery even faster. But when things start to get even more complicated for the main characters, you’re forced to delve into more secrets that you know is coming with unexpected consequences.

BUNz

I really liked that we were taken to the past and were shown a little bit of the main character’s upbringing and what sparked certain things for him because we needed to see it. With that being said, I didn't FEEL any connection between him and the heroine. It had the makings to be this all encompassing love but I just didn't feel anything for them when they were together and I think that had a lot to do with them not really having one on one time together as much.

Even though I had a few issues with this story, I still enjoyed some parts of it and I will still read anything from this author. If you're looking for slight mystery suspense, then this might be the one for you.

Told in multiple POV, 3rd person, it's a spin off from Paper Swan but it can be read as a standalone. Like my other reads by this author I totally enjoyed it. The Night Blossoms is a thriller but not only it thrills you but it makes you feel all the emotions there! The story is about a pregnant wife who's husband is missing and she's looking for him and meanwhile the story alternates between past and present to show us more about this couple. It's a twisty read, some I could guess and some I didn't see coming. The writing is addictive and the story is compelling. I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put it down. Overall, loved it and hope you enjoy it as well!

Memories had teeth, and sometimes they took a big chunk out of you.

Years ago, I read The Paper Swan and fell in love with Leylah Attar's words. When I saw she'll be releasing another standalone in this world, to say I was giddy with excitement is an understatement. I was desperate for this book.

Now if you're expecting a book in the same vein of Paper Swan, this isn't it. While it has dark undertones, it felt all encompassing for a completely different reason. This is a romantic thriller with a mystery that has you questioning your sanity, gripped to the pages, and not knowing up from down. It's a suspense that leaves you with your heart in your throat, an erratic pulse, and desperately turning the pages to figure out how it all ends. And when the end comes? You're left absolutely reeling.

Leylah Attar masterfully crafted a page turner of a thriller full of twists and turns you never see coming and a love that spans years. It jumps between past and present, giving you morsel by morsel of details. It's perfectly paced and it's incredibly written in a way where it gives you not enough and yet just enough. It was sucked me in from beginning to end.

If you've read The Paper Swan, you'll remember Rafael. And if you haven't, I highly recommend you do. Interestingly enough, where the Paper Swan felt all encompassing for the romance, The Night Blossom felt all encompassing for the mystery. As much as I loved both Rafael and Vee as individual characters, their romance didn't fully reel me in. I loved it, don't get me wrong, but it also didn't feel like the romance is what took center stage. Which is funny to say, because the romance was there. I think for me, I just didn't feel that same gravitational pull to the romance as I did the story itself, if that even makes sense.

Did I love it? Absolutely. Will it stay with me? Without a doubt. Do you need to read it? Right now! My one recommendation? Do yourself a favor and go in absolutely blind!

When I found out that Rafael from the fabulous The Paper Swan was getting a book I was beyond excited. His story arc in that book only left me hoping for more especially after what he endured. He has a lot of baggage and a story that showed potential. It could only turn out great and it did!

The Night Blossoms is a riveting romantic suspense with a beautiful love story as its focus. There’s no doubt about Leylah Attar’s storytelling skills. She knows how to weave a story together and keep the reader invested. Once again her prose is gorgeous and flawless. It definitely made me feel the story wholeheartedly but also because of Rafael and his love interest.
I recommend going in blind and also reading The Paper Swan. It’s not necessary but for me it only heightened my experience.

The Night Blossoms threw some curveballs my way which I didn’t see coming and it only made the story that more intense and fascinating. My only tiny issue was the past and present chapters. I understand the reason why the story was constructed this way but for me it interrupted my flow and also the pace of the story. Still The Night Blossoms took my breath away. Such a beautiful love story that pulled at my heartstrings. A fabulous companion to The Paper Swan.

The Night Blossoms by Leylah Attar is a book that I read months ago and yet, I have had no problem retrieving the emotions and thoughts from my heart and mind. This book is a combination of intrigue, passion, mystery, and thriller. It is a story of two people who meet and create a connection that will span years!

Vee and Rafael have a complex love story. When Rafael goes missing, Vee is left to pick up the pieces. She soon finds out that Rafael was not only a person she has grown to love, but he carries more secrets than she could ever have imagined.

This journey dives into themes of identity, culture, and loyalty. Vee’s journey toward finding Rafael not only uncovers truths about Rafael but also deeply hidden truths in herself. The writing is beautiful and lyrical and will capture your heart. I have to be vague on the details from this read as everyone deserves to discover this book for themselves.

The Night Blossoms has something for everyone and it is a read that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes romance, mystery, and thrill all rolled into one!

Overall, The Night Blossoms is a story that will stay with you for a long time. The ending is unexpected and moving, leaving the reader pondering themes of identity, love, loyalty, and justice. This book has something for everyone - it’s darkly romantic and full of passion, suspense, and mystery. It’s a story that I highly recommend! Leylah Attar has always been a favorite author of mine due to her full commitment to writing stories that are both entertaining and thought-provoking. I think The Night Blossoms is one of her best works yet! Attar’s writing style truly brings this story to life and will make you desperate for more! Highly recommended for fans of romantic suspense and thrillers. You won't be disappointed!

Rafael and Vee Roza are a happily married couple until they have a significant disagreement. When Rafael becomes unreachable, the evidence isn’t adding up and Vee becomes the prime suspect in his disappearance.

“You are not a bystander in reality. You are the lens through which reality exists.”

Narrated in third person POV and a shifting timeline, the story is carefully constructed to reveal the relevance of Rafael’s past and what is transpiring in the present. With purposeful pacing, the narrative is solidly crafted with enough vagueness to keep the clues somewhat hidden while building suspense.

With this story tugging on the heart strings, the parallels in loss are poignant leaving lasting impressions of emotion for Rafael and Vee. I wanted to race through the chapters to read what happens next, but the words on the page made me a breather to absorb the bittersweet poetry, deep feelings and endless curiosity. I absolutely devoured this book. Rafael, Vee and certain other characters have been etched into my mind.

The Night Blossoms is a dark romance suspense about sacrifice and family. This book would appeal to those looking for a page turner mystery.

Mists of the Serengeti is one of my favorite books. So I was beyond excited to get to read a new book by Leylah Attar.

This book is a romantic suspense and is told in a past/present storyline.

This book is riveting and captivating. I read it in one day. I literally could not put it down.

It is a quick read full of intrigue. This book has dark elements. But it is not too dark. And it's not graphic or overly violent.

The story is about Vee and her husband Rafael. They have an argument and then she can't find him. I honestly found this book to be compelling and mesmerizing. And the end was absolutely chilling. If you like romantic suspense then read this book!

*This book is connected to The Paper Swan but can be read as a standalone.

Family Drama | Women’s Fiction | Romance

Moti on the Water fits into a plethora of genres. This book (in my opinion) is mainly a family drama , but also focuses on the growth of the story’s heroine, Moti. Much of the story surrounds her “finding herself” and finally loosening herself from her mother’s grip which makes it a good candidate for women’s fiction readers. Finally, there’s a splash of romance the blossoms between Moti and a man who is almost forbidden to her, which mainly takes place towards the end. Don’t get me wrong, the romance factor is THERE but this story doesn’t JUST fall within that category. The story doesn’t JUST focus on her romantic life, but more about HER finally becoming comfortable in her own skin. Therefore, this book can fit into a wide variety of genres and can be easily loved by many readers!

I’ve only read one of the authors previous novels (The Paper Swan) and remembered how much I loved that book back in 2015 so I decided to give this one a try. Not only did it sound like a fun story (which it is) but the gorgeous cover had me thinking summer, swimming, and enjoying the freedoms of the outdoors (all things that I love!). When I tucked into this novel last night, I literally got lost in the world. Moti is such a relatable character and seeing her slowly free herself from her family’s superstitions and traditions was a breath of fresh air. I don’t get to read many books like this so when I found it, I was overjoyed. Laylah did a wonderful job at bringing Moti to life, along with the gorgeous setting where I was temporarily vacationing right alongside her. The romance factor was beautiful, although it took a lot of time to get there. I don’t mind a slow burn romance but when a book only spans two weeks and it doesn’t truly develop until the two weeks is almost up, it can become frustrating. Us readers KNOW what Moti should do but having to patiently wait for her to make up her mind and understand her worth and what she deserves was a bit underwhelming. I say underwhelming because I expected FIREWORKS and it took SO LING to get there. I think that’s my only complaint about this novel.

Other than that, this is truly a gorgeous and uplifting story and I read it as fast as I could. I loved Moti and her family, I laughed out loud quite a few times (there is a lot of humor in this one), and I connected with these characters implicitly. I look forward to many more novels by Laylah because she writes gorgeous stories!

Leylah Attar is one of those rare authors whose books i await with bated breath. I'm always guaranteed a sensitive plot handled with delicate precision, all the while imprinting my soul with indelible emotions. Her love stories believe in fated love, with serendipitious connections spanning years. Her belief in eternal love makes me a believer too.
This book was a nonstop read for me. It kept me engaged from page 1 to the last. A mystery thriller with second chance love, made for a very exciting read. Twists and turns placed at regular intervals kept me hooked and surprised.

"Do you ever really know someone, or do you just know the parts they want you to see?"

Rafael Roza is the main character whose childhood in Mexico is spent playing in courtyard of his parents Cantina and hanging on the Tamarind tree.
His neighbour is now a foster girl in a bumble bee costume, Evelina Rose.
Rafael sees too many parting in the course of his life and Evelina, Raven, Yvette and Charlotte visit his life at opportune and important times.

"who changed trajectory time and again, but kept returning to the same intersection: face-to-face with Rafael. "

It's basically a story of a love lorn man looking for his childhood love, to protect and hold forever.
Full of mind boggling intrigue, turmoil and mayhem, this book will keep you on your toes throughout.

Once again, I'm rendered speechless. But that's what Leylah Attar continues to do to my very being with her stellar style of storytelling. She creates this intricate and somewhat fragmented puzzle that leaves me confused albeit very intrigued by what is actually unfolding right in front of my eyes. My mind is not nearly as attuned as our hero Rafael Roza's is, but as all the jagged pieces started to slide into place, I was left gobsmacked and dare I say, gleeful, as Attar leads us home.

Talk about a-ha moments, this book is filled with them. I wracked my brain with each turn of the page, trying hard to understand the whys of Rafael's sudden disappearance and how the presumed guarded secrets his devoted wife Vee kept hidden from the outside world were related. Attar is quite clever as we get both the past and the present in order to fully grasp why Rafael would continue to hold a torch for his bumble bee girl while the subsequent women in his life could never seem to match her light.

There are many tangents that again at times downright confused me, but they kept me riveted just the same and totally on the edge of my seat! I had to trust this talented author that she would give me the final reveal while at the same time allowing both Rafael and Vee to find some semblance of happiness even when a dark cloud always seemed near. I just couldn't fathom how this might turn out and why all the many characters and moments in time had to be a part of this complicated journey.

But to say that Attar was brilliant in deliberately creating her trail of crumbs that lead to a few times of me proclaiming: "Holy moly" or "I had a feeling!" is as usual, an understatement. Her gift of allowing her readers to glean just enough of what they need to not only keep going but to be happily surprised as the last few chapters are devoured is extraordinary.

There are tender moments that remain in the forefront of both Rafael and Vee's hearts as they are in a race against time to save each other, their marriage, and their unborn baby. The love is definitely there but it is put to the test over and over again. The Night Blossoms is a book that stands just as tall as The Paper Swan and is the perfect reading companion to that bestseller. Especially with a few well-placed cameos by our man, Damian, which was a huge bonus.

The Night Blossoms is romantic suspense at its very best and I couldn't be happier that Leylah Attar is back and better than ever. This is a story to be savored even as you might find yourself scratching your head as to exactly what is unraveling chapter by chapter. But just know that I had a wonderful time reading this book, overwhelmed once again at just how masterful a storyteller Attar remains.

Oh, and don't be surprised if you'll want to read it for a 2nd time almost immediately just like I have, all the while kicking yourself just a teensy little bit in the realization of how all the clues were there from the start. You'll be floored once more at just how gifted this author continues to be with every new writing venture she conquers.

You are in for a real treat as Attar's darker side opens up for one crazy good reading experience. Hold on tight, because you are in for quite a ride.

‘Do you ever really know someone, or do you just know the parts they want you to see?’

We’ve been eagerly awaiting The Night Blossoms by Leylah Attar, wanting to hear Rafael’s story. If you’ve read The Paper Swan, you’ll know he is Damien’s childhood friend and a bit of a genius with a tragic past. You also know his story is going to affect you and pull at your heartstrings. Be prepared though! This romantic suspense was a bit like a whirlwind; surprising, abrupt, contradicting, confusing but still, all-encompassing. It was a soft caress and it was a destructive force of nature. Once again, we were mesmerised by this Author’s astounding ways of weaving a story like a beautiful heart-breaking piece of poetry. We loved it!

“When you cry, my whole world turns dark. You are my life, my hope, my home. If my life ended tomorrow, I would look for you again and again, in every lifetime.”

We are not going to go into details on the story as that would be robbing a reader of a journey of discovery, one you must take yourselves. It all begins with a young Rafael Roza and an abandoned girl in a bee costume, Evelina Flores. Torn apart, making promises to each other, whilst victims of their individual heart-breaking circumstances. Leylah Attar evokes transcendent imagery for the reader, which made this story feel at times like we were watching it unfold, like a blooming blossom. It is a wondrous ability to create a world and feeling like this!

“Everybody leaves. And they never say goodbye. One day, you’ll leave too.”

The back and forth from past to present was seamless and so well written, however, we would’ve liked to spend more quality time with the characters -in the moment- and have less time-traveling. The connection was there, but could have been much stronger than what we felt, it could have been so much more. We love having our hearts a hundred percent involved, break them, batter them as much as you like, then put them back together in the end. We’ll actually thank you for it. The suspense, drama, and thrilling mystery were a rollercoaster of whodunnit, and love lost. We caught on about halfway through and had our suspicion and theories. Whilst we were proved correct, it didn’t take anything away from this compelling story, rather we enjoyed ‘watching’ it unfold with our hearts in our mouths at one stage.

Leylah Attar is one of my all-time favorite authors. She writes the most original and engaging stories. So whenever I see her pop up to announce a new release, I get crazy excited. When I read that The Night Blossoms was based on a supporting character from The Paper Swan, my excitement increased even more. I didn't really know what to expect when I read the blurb, but I kept a very open mind and let the story lead the way.

The Night Blossoms was definitely a very unique story, and unpredictable. The back and forth between present and past put me off a bit, but it did make the story more mysterious. It was a different way of telling the story, but it did intrigue me. However, it also made it more difficult for me to connect to the characters. Unfortunately, the characters also didn't spend enough time in the present. That was the main thing missing for me. Overall, I still enjoyed this story and was intrigued and dedicated to finding out how the story would end.

The Night Blossoms was brilliantly executed. I absolutely loved it. It was unpredictable. It was amazing. It kept me guessing. There were parts of it I figured out before hand but that didn’t prepare me for the full unfurling of the plot. I loved everything about this book, the characters, the way it kept my attention, the way it kept me thinking about it even when I wasn’t reading it. I know it will stay with me for a while. It’s my first five star read for the year and I very highly recommend it. I feel like I should issue warnings with my recommendation. Expect emotional upheaval. Expect not to want to put it down. Expect to fall in love with these characters. Expect to root for them in-spite of everything. Expect to be blown away. Expect to enjoy the journey most of all. If you haven’t read this author before expect to devour her backlist.

POV:  Third Person

“She was the fleeting bloom of the vining cactus, coiled around the notches of his memory.”

The story opens up with Rafael and Vee Roza in a very emotional chapter that had me feeling lots of things so quickly. My heart hurt for Rafael’s pain, I couldn’t understand Vee at first so I was so angry at her. When Rafael is nowhere to be found, my nerves got a hold of me. I knew I needed all the answers and I was not going to be able to put this book down until I get to the bottom of it.

“He was one of the pillars that held up her world.”

As I continue reading nothing seems to make sense, I had more questions than answers which is not always a bad thing. I love stories that make me think hard and have a foundation and a twisted plot. Vee finds herself alone and searching for her husband in very unpredictable circumstances.

“Death has many faces and many voices. Not recognizing mine, I smiled.”

The suspense in this book was so intense, every time Vee would say “Where the hell are you, Rafael and what the hell is going on?” I’d be asking the same exact thing and I felt so connected to her in that way haha, I was bound to put my detective skills to the test.

The author did an excellent job keeping the story full of mystery which makes for a total page turner. The story wraps up very well putting all the pieces together. The twist at the end was completely unexpected, I was literally trying to guess every which way and wow totally did not see that twist coming.

Overall; The Night Blossoms is a unique suspenseful tale that goes back and forth from present and past that will keep readers on the edge until the very end. Readers who enjoy romantic suspense stories would find this story appealing.

Vee + Rafael

If you haven't yet read The Paper Swan you need to run to your nearest amazon and get it. You really should read it before starting this book. It is possible to read this second book as a standalone, but Rafael is in Damian's book so much! Please read it first!

Okay ... The Night Blossoms.
We all remember Rafael's story from the first book. But of course we only got a few quick details. And now we get more. So much more.
We go back between the past and present a lot.
And we hear all about Rafael's loves as well. There's his wife Vee in the present. There's his childhood sweetheart Lina. And then there's Raven - connected to cartel business and student & flower girl Yvette. *fingeronchinconfusedlook*
(I'm tempted to walk to a jukebox and play the song To All The Girls I've Loved Before here!)

And then there's the fact that Rafael kind of disappeared in the present time and his wife is trying to find out what happened. While also trying to prove that she's not guilty of any crime to the police.
Plus there's a lot more in our darlings' lives to worry and be scared about....

What will happen with Rafael and his ladies??
Will we get our happily ever after??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!

I did a Paper Swan re-read before starting this and I'm really glad I did. You don't really have to, but why the heck not? :D But please do.
Like I said we go back in time a lot to different places in Rafael's life. I might even say that it was a tiny bit too much - it's a bit confusing at times. For some people - not for me of course. LOL!
Rafael's story looks very complicated and confusing if you don't pay attention.
We basically know what happened to him in his life up to this point - but we missed so much too. His love-life for example. And that's quite a life. LOL!
This book was so mysterious and sad and heartbreaking!
We have this darkish, hopeless mood through most scenes and that's what scared me a bit. I wanted that happy end asap, but of course that's not how books work.
It takes us a long while to sort through all those mysteries and dangers and heartbreaks and whatnots ... never knowing if we'll get there at all. It doesn't look very promising at times.
But through all those confusing and mysterious and dangerous and heartbreaking moments... this book was such a beautiful love and life story.
I wouldn't have minded a hundred more pages of romance moments. Of falling-in-love moments and sweet and cute couple moments. Those got a bit lost with all the other lady moments and university-talk moments.
But still - I loved reading this story so much!
And I wouldn't mind if this Paper Swan/Night Blossoms world would end up on Netflix one day soon!

THE NIGHT BLOSSOMS was such a beautiful love story!
So full of Mystery. Danger. Heartbreak. All the things!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Rafael - this one is MINE!

If I had to complain a bit more about things... the mysteries are all a bit too obvious. And the bad guy is a bit silly because it's so pointless somehow. It doesn't have to do anything with anything ... you'd expect something from their pasts to come calling in a bad way, but this was just a bit weird. But pfft - I still loved reading it.

I am completely out of words to explain exactly how much I loved this book. It's... It's pure and utter perfection.

So I will admit that I was wary before starting. I cannot say anything about the Greek culture but whenever a non-Indian person has tried to bring in the Indian culture into their stories they have always, and I mean every freaking single time, one, portrayed us in an unflattering light and two, the culture is nothing more than Holi and the bright colours or Diwali and the bright lights.

Honestly. It starts to piss us off too much. So much so that we have actually started to applaud people for their insight. Sarcastically, of course, because it is something we learn before we even learn to talk or walk. It's in our blood. Just like chai.

I was truly surprised by how Attar caught on to the Indian culture and how — doesn't matter if you were brought up in India or outside India — certain things are drilled into your head from the early age and Attar portrayed that through Moti and her family beautifully.

I loved how the essence of being born into an Indian family was there. The unconscious way we are polite, putting up a show of a perfectly balanced life even if there isn't (Moti's mother), the old school idea of arranged marriage and having to make it work because there was no other option (Moti's maternal grandmother). Our love for food, our love for masala chai (this is a serious thing. Sure we love coffee but chai...), our need to please our parents, the superstitions that run in every nook and cranny of our country, every little thing was touched on and it was so right. So spot on.

Moti on the Water was splendid. A love that was written in the stars, embracing yourself and your fears and overcoming them, accepting who you are and coming to terms with your truth and not the one that our society tells us.

The writing is free-flowing, the descriptions are in detail, adding more to the story. It was so so so much more than I was expecting it to be.

AND HELLO!!!!! Some serious Bollywood style stuff going on and I loved how Leylah flipped a particular scene... *giggles in joy* Let's just say it involved a horse and a bride's maid and her eccentric family.

I swear to god this book NEEDS to be made into a movie. It would really be stunning.

I love this author’s books and I recently read and loved The Paper Swan, so I was super excited to read Rafael’s story!

I really enjoyed it and as always I love Leyla’s writing style. However, I’m not sure how I feel about the changes between present and past, as I felt like some plot twists, weren’t surprising for me and I figured things out very early on the story. I didn’t expect the reasoning behind everything though and if I’m honest it didn’t make sense to me.

Other than that, I really loved the past moments more than the present ones. They made more sense to me and it was where I was more invested with the romance. I did think that this book felt more like a thriller, than a romance though, as I didn’t feel that much the connection between the couple.

I definitely recommend this author's books, as I'm always in awe with her writing and her way with words. Even though the characters didn’t wow me on this one, the plot was intriguing and I liked that we got to see Rafael’s story, before, in the meantime and after The Paper Swan timeline.

An endless number of heart eyes and thumbs up for this story! Escapism at its finest...the perfect summer read!! Leylah Attar proves that no matter what genre she writes she slays it every time!! Moti on the Water is a feast for all of your senses. You can almost feel the sights and sounds while Moti and the crew are traveling on the Aegean Sea, and if only we could smell and taste the incredible food that the sexy Chef Alexandros whips up. Moti is awkward and lovable I was rooting for her right from the start. Alex is as delicious as the food that he makes and the words that he speaks. Moti and her eccentric family will have you laughing and crying on their journey. I highly recommend this laugh out loud swoonfest, it's one of my favorites of the year and one that I'll reread for many years!!

The Night Blossoms is something special because it went straight to my top reads EVER and Leylah Attar became my must read author just after my first book by her. This is a book not to be missed. Not in 2022. Not ever.

This is going to be an unconventional review from me. So I didn't read the blurb. I went in blind. So everything from the first chapter just hit me hard. And I feel it is the best way to go. The story starts with Vee Roza having a heated debate with her husband Rafael Roza for getting pregnant against medical advice followed by Rafael leaving house asking for some space. What seemed like a simple couple trouble turns into a missing person case and Vee's journey into finding truth.

I am not sure how to review this without giving spoilers. Rafael is an extraordinary person. His mind is a brilliant place and unique in its own way. He has come a long way from his childhood in Mexico where his family used to work for the cartel. The story weaves in and out of past as the author documents how he became a successful genius investment expert to an acclaimed professor. I am deliberately omitting the specific power he has as you have to experience it on your own. To immerse into the complicated, fascinating and utterly awe inspiring mind of Rafael Roza. To understand this kind, protective, sensational man in his full glory.

Vee is strong and her mind is fierce. Her life has been an endless trial. Through pain, grief, loss and abuse. She is a fighter. She has survived and has emerged as this inspiring and fierce woman. Her connection with Rafael defied all odds. All challenges. They are soulmates. Their love is so intense and all consuming that it made me an emotional mess. It only amplified how terrified and heartbroken their story made me feel. Vee has lost a lot. Her baby and husbands wont be one.

The plot is mindblowing. Completely shocking yet heartfelt. The moving puzzle pieces are hidden behind a thin veil. So I would get a glimpse but couldn't put it together. The story spans across years and every little detail is important. It was like a symphony. I am hearing the music, I can sense something great and spellbinding will happen next but I cannot guess it. This story is all about exhilarating twists entwined with heartaching love. I was on the edge of my sanity but I couldn't stop reading even if someone held a gun to my head. I was holding my breath in last few chapters. I was so scared to even turn the pages but I had to. And after the last chapter, I couldn't stop crying. So this is how it feels to have a crash after adrenaline high. I was exhausted but I was overjoyed. This is a love story for ages and please read it.

In this new release, the author delivers a mesmerizing story about timeless love. One that survives distance, years of separation, heartbreak and loss.

Rafael Roza has been in love two times, and both left him with heartbreak. But does he ever get his happy ending? Told in the past and present, from two POVs, we learn about those past loves and how they have shaped him in the present.

I won't get into the details of the plot but what drove me through this story other than the author's poetic prose, is my intrigue in what happened to Rafael who goes missing early on, and if the women in his past are responsible in any way. There is some author trickery with some of the characters that kept me on my toes, but once revealed, made a lot of sense to the direction of the story.

What I really didn't expect was the twist related to Rafael's disappearance and how moments from the past led to the horrific actions of one person. By contrast, I loved how one person rises above to save those they love. I didn't expect they had that in them, and I admire how they never gave up fighting.

Although there are a lot of tragic moments in this story with everything Rafael and his loves had to overcome, the beauty of their love story can't be overlooked and is what makes this book so special.

This author always delivers compelling stories full of emotion, while immersing the reader into the culture the story is set in. It is why she will always be on my auto-buy list and why I encourage everyone to check out her work.
